RadioShack welcomes you to the next generation of personal communication — the Family Radio Service (FRS). FRS is a new license-free, two-way, short­range voice radio service that lets families and groups keep in touch with each other on specific reserved channels. Your 14-Channel FRS Radio is sealed in­side the antenna’s water-resistant, magnetic-mount base for maximum range. All controls are located on the microphone for added convenience. Because of its convenient, compact size, you can mount it in a vehicle for mobile use, or on a boat for marine use.

radio is causing it. Try to eliminate the interference by:
• reorienting or relocating the receiving antenna
• increasing the distance between the equipment and the radio or TV
• moving your radio away from the receiver
• contacting your local RadioShack store for help
If you cannot eliminate the interference, the FCC re­quires that you stop using the radio.
Important:
Do not open your radio to make any inter­nal adjustments. Your radio is set up to transmit a regulated signal on one of fourteen assigned frequen­cies. It is against the law to alter or adjust the settings inside. Adjustments or alterations to the radio must be made by a qualified technician using the proper test equipment.
• Never open your radio’s case.
• Never change or replace any radio components.

MOUNTING THE MICROPHONE HOLDER
Caution:
Do not mount the radio’s microphone holder where it could damage or interfere with the operation of any passive restraint safety device (an airbag or seat belt).
1. Using the holder as a template, mark the posi­tions for the screw holes.
2. At each marked position, drill a hole slightly smaller than the mounting screws.
Caution:
Be careful not to drill into anything
behind the mounting surface.
3. Mount the holder using the supplied machine screws, spring washers, plain washers, and nuts.
