Purpose of this Release
Scalar 100 Remote Management Unit (RMU) 210A.00002 includes new features and enhancements that
extend its capabilities. These release notes describe the new features and enhancements, as well as issues
that were resolved for this release of the product. These notes also provide drive and auxiliary firmware

Enhancements
New features and enhancements that have been included in this release of the Scalar 100 RMU are as
follows:

CR 45178 The RMU is now able to download additional logs from the library to support the iLink
project.
CR 52836 The RMU password can now be changed automatically via an external script.
Description
Resolved Issues
This release of Scalar 100 RMU resolved the following issues.

CR 22158 The drive firmware version now displays correctly on the RMU Firmware page.
CR 23621 User account information is no longer lost by the RMU when upgrading, downgrading, or
switching between libraries.
CR 23952 The RMU Status page now properly displays the library serial number in the same format
as the Operator Panel.
CR 38846 The RMU now properly displays status immediately upon successfully updating drive
firmware.
CR 41698 For Library Tape Alerts, the RMU displays the actual SCSI ID.
CR 44620 The message text that confirms firmware download was revised slightly for clarity.
CR 44909 The RMU no longer loses the network connection after a long period of inactivity.
CR 45630 Added missing Identifier information for the TapeAlert Trap Object. The Identifier
information now meets the drive MIB definition.
CR 46064 The RMU diagnostic files now correctly detect and report a failed drive, rather than
continuously reporting an error in getting drive information.
Description
CR 51227 TapeAlert Traps are now reported properly and more promptly for all drive sleds.
