Purpose of This Release
Scalar 100 6.10.0004 addresses known issues in previous firmware releases. These release notes describe
issues that were resolved for this release of the product. These notes also provide drive and auxiliary
firmware compatibility information. Visit www.adic.com

Resolved Issues
This release of Scalar 100 firmware resolved the following issues.

CR 20179 SCSI: Tape Alert Flag #13 is now correctly set after four retries of a blocked get
command.
CR 20180 SCSI: Tape Alert Flag #14 is now correctly set after the first set of failed place/put
commands.
CR 20181 SCSI: Tape Alert Flag #15 is now correctly set when the library fails to load the cartridge.
CR 20182 SCSI: Tape Alert Flag #24 is now correctly set when an inventory mismatch occurs.
CR 20192 Library is taught once, and only once, when monitor command 'Teach' is used.
CR 20324 Removed the Service > Start > Advanced menu that provided the menu to change the
serial number, because the serial number is not changeable.
CR 20347 Each partition is checked for overloading, and overloading is reported as Partition
Overloaded or Logical Library Overloaded, as appropriate.
Description
CR 22120 The “Scan retries” line at bottom of the Status > Library > System > Next > menu no
longer displays.
CR 22507 The Operator Panel message that displays when interrupting cleaning tape import/export.
The new message states “Import/Export of cleaning tape failed.”
CR 29146 SAC:42, “An incorrect library configuration is detected...”, is now issued when booting a
library that has gap(s) between sleds.
CR 30338 The Operator Panel messages that display during configuration (regarding progress,
status, and the ability to cancel) have been clarified and reduced.
CR 33493 The library no longer issues SAC:A2s or SAC:81s when Scanning process of a boot up is
interrupted.
CR 34115 When a Demo that includes the I/E station is requested, the user is prompted to remove
any cartridges from the I/E station. When the Demo continues, the picker will place
cartridges in the I/E station as part of the Demo.
CR 35851 During the Touch on Init sequence, a status message is now displayed. The message is
“Touching Cells” for storage cells, and “Touching I/E Cells”.
CR 36578 Even if the library door is open, the library now responds correctly to a mode sense
command.
CR 38299 Changing the Scan on Init or the Touch on Init sequence prompts for a library reboot in
order for the changes to be accepted.
CR 38834 If the library door is open when attempting to run any of the following commands: Drive
Diagnostics, Create FUP tape, Copy Dump, or Verify Test, the system now correctly
displays the message: “To run this option the library must be Offline with the door closed.”
CR 39112 The Unload Dialog and Reset Dialog now display the option All, which allows the
command to be performed on all drives.
