This chapter provides basic information about the QNAP TS-2888X NAS.
About the TS-2888X
The TS-2888X is an enterprise solution designed for AI applications, data storage, backup, sharing, and
centralized management. It is powered by a high-performance Intel Xeon W multi-core processor, and
loaded with DDR4 ECC RDIMM memory that can be scaled up to 512 GB. Each TS-2888X NAS features
two 10 GbE RJ45 Ethernet ports for increased bandwidth and throughput.

Setting Up the NAS

• Installing a drive deletes all data on the drive.
• Observe electrostatic discharge (ESD) procedures to avoid damage to components.
1. Power off the NAS.
2. Remove the right cover.
a. Loosen the screws.
b. Pull the right cover back.
