If an extension cord is used, the wire size must be at
least one size larger than the power cord on the
machine, and must be limited to 50 feet (15.5m) in
length.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS:
This appliance must be grounded. If it should malfunc-
tion or break down, grounding provides a path of least
resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of
electric shock. This appliance is equipped with a cord
having an equipment-grounding conductor and
grounding plug. The plug must be inserted into an
appropriate outlet that is properly installed and
grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit,
and has a grounded plug that looks like the plug in "Fig.
A". A temporary adaptor that looks like the adaptor in
"Fig. C" may be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole
receptacle as shown in "Fig. B", if a properly grounded
outlet is not available. The temporary adaptor should
be used only until a properly grounded outlet (Fig. A)
can be installed by a qualified electrician. The green
colored rigid ear, lug, or the like extending from the
adaptor must be connected to a permanent ground
such as a properly grounded outlet box cover.
Whenever the adaptor is used, it must be held in place
by a metal screw.
Safety
Improper connection of the equipment-grounding
conductor can result in a risk of electric shock.
Check with a qualified electrician or service person
if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is
properly grounded. Do not modify the plug
provided with the appliance - if it will not fit the
outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified
electrician. Use only GFCI protected receptacles.

Back Draft Prevention
Exhausting too much air from a space with Open
Combustion Devices (e.g. furnace, fireplace or
water heater) can cause those devices to back draft.
This can contaminate the space with potentially
fatal gases.
Évacuer trop d'air d'un espace av ec des app areils à
combustion ouverte (p ex., fournaise, foyer ou
chauffe-eau) peut entraîner un refoulement de ces
appareils. Cela peut contaminer l'espace avec des
gaz potentiellement mortels.
Use the machine as a dehumidifying unit only.
Exhausting no air from the space and thus causing no
negative pressure or back drafting.
OR
Exhaust a very limited amount of air , which do es not
cause back drafting.
OR
Direct one or more forced air outlet ducts into the room
with combustion devices. This will positively pressurize
the room, thus preventing back drafting.
Purging Dehumidifier
1. After space reaches desired humidity level, pr ess
switch to Purge. This manually empties water from
the condensate pump reservoir.
2. Hold switch to purge setting until the pump is
empty.
3. Disconnect drain hose.
NOTE: The drain hose will be full of water. Take
precautions to avoid spilling in undesirable areas.
When exhausting air from a space, always check
Combustion Devices with the machine running to
guarantee that back draft prevention measures are
working.
En évacuant l'air d'un espace, toujours vé rifier que
le ventilateur des appareils à combustion ouverte
est en marche pour garantir l'efficacité des
mesures de prévention antirefoulement.
