The Triad Thruster Fan is intended for professional disaster restoration and remediation, but can also be used for
carpet cleaning, construction, and janitorial / sanitation professionals in general ventilating and structural drying
applications.

Parts may be ordered from authorized dealers. When
placing an order for parts, the machine model and
machine serial number are important. Refer to the
MACHINE DATA box which is filled out during the
installation of your machine. The MACHINE DATA box
is located on the inside of the front cover of this manual.
The model and serial number of your machine is
located on the bottom of the machine.
The SAFETY section contains important information
regarding hazardous or unsafe practices of the
machine. Levels of hazards are identified that could
result in product damage, personal injury, or severe
injury resulting in death.
The OPERAT IONS section is to familiarize the operator
with the operation and function of the machine.
The MAINTENANCE section contains preventive maintenance to keep the machine and its components in
good working condition. They are listed in this general
order:

The PARTS LIST section contains assembled parts
illustrations and corresponding parts list. The parts lists
include a number of columns of information:
•REF – column refers to the reference number
on the parts illustration.
•PART NO. – column lists the part number for

•QTY – column lists the quantity of the part used
in that area of the machine.
•DESCRIPTION – column is a brief description
of the part.
•SERIAL NO. FROM – If this column has an (*)
and a Reference number, see the SERIAL
NUMBERS page in the back of your manual. If
column has two asterisk (**), call manufacturer
for serial number. The serial number indicates
the first machine the part number is applicable
to. The main illustration shows the most current

In the USA this machine operates on a standard 15
amp 1 15V, 60 hz, A.C. power circuit . The amp, hertz,
and voltage are listed on the data label found on each
machine. Using voltages above or below those
indicated on the data label will cause serious damage
to the motors.
EXTENSION CORDS:
If an extension cord is used, the wire size must be at
least one size larger than the power cord on the
machine, and must be limited to 50 feet (15.5m) in
length.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS:
This appliance must be grounded. If it should malfunc-
tion or break down, grounding provides a path of least
resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of
electric shock. This appliance is equipped with a cord
having an equipment-grounding conductor and
grounding plug. The plug must be inserted into an
appropriate outlet that is properly installed and
grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit,
and has a grounded plug that looks like the plug in "Fig.
A". A temporary adaptor that looks like the adaptor in
"Fig. C" may be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole
receptacle as shown in "Fig. B", if a properly grounded
outlet is not available. The temporary adaptor should
be used only until a properly grounded outlet (Fig. A)
can be installed by a qualified electrician. The green
colored rigid ear, lug, or the like extending from the
adaptor must be connected to a permanent ground
such as a properly grounded outlet box cover.
Whenever the adaptor is used, it must be held in place
by a metal screw.
Safety
Improper connection of the equipment-grounding
conductor can result in a risk of electric shock.
Check with a qualified electrician or service person
if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is
properly grounded. Do not modify the plug
provided with the appliance - if it will not fit the
outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified

Bottom Vent Plate
Rotate the disk to align the holes in the fan with the
holes in the vent disk to allow air flow down to dry
flooring directly under fan. For high pressure applications which forces all the air out the exhaust nozzle,
rotate the holes so they are misaligned, to close the
vent plate.

This smooth area is for product numbering or identifying ownership, location, etc.
How to Carry
Use proper carrying techniques when moving fans.
Lift and lower with legs while back is straight and
upright.

Daisy Chaining Fans
The fan is equipped with a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit
Interrupt) duplex outlet. When the power cord of the fan
is plugged into a power source, other fans or pieces of
equipment can be plugged into fans power outlet. Of
the 12 amps available, 1.6 is used by fan, leaving
maximum of 10.4 total amps availa ble for other fans or
equipment.
Do not plug devices requiring a total more than 12
Amps on circuit.

Fans power switch only controls fans motor and does
not switch on and off the GFCI outlet.

Cord Storage
Fans power cord is best stored around neck of intake
nozzle.
1. Turn off fan.
2. Disconnect any additional fans or machines
plugged into fans auxiliary outlet and unplug fan
from its power source.
3. Remove quick ducting band.
4. Working from fan to cord plug end, lay cord out
straight, remove any twists as you go.
5. Make a 2” loop in cord near strain-relief then wrap
cord snugly around neck of intake nozzle coiling
from bottom up.
6. Allow cord to untwist as you coil cord around intake
neck.
7. Secure cord end by attaching cords plug retaining
clip to cord of the previous loop.
8. Stretch the quick-ducting band over cord end for
added holding.

Carpet Floating
The fan can also be used in carpet floating applications.
1. Pull back carpet, place fan at one of corners.
2. Put fans exhaust nozzle under carpet pointing
towards center while sitting flat on its feet.
3. Wrap quick-ducting band around int ake nozzle and
corner of carpet. Be sure carpet does not cover
fans air intake.
Operating Positions
This fan can be operated in almost any position or
orientation.
The three main positions are; horizontal (sitting on it s
feet), vertical (sitting on its back exhaust pointed up),
and sideways (sitting on either left or right side). For
any position, do not block air intake.
•Horizontal position is used for blowing across
floor surfaces.
•Vertical position is used to direct airflow up to
blow on to ceiling.
•Side position is used to blow along a wall
Never allow anything to block intake airflow. Be
careful of objects which could be drawn against
intake. The fan must sit on a level surface. Always
position and orient fan before turning on.

ATTENTION:
Horizontal Operation
Place fan on its rubber feet with the int ake on top. Point
fans exhaust in desired direction. Turn on fan.
Never allow anything to block intake airflow. Be
careful of objects which could be drawn against
intake. The fan must sit on a level surface. In
vertical or side operation, to protect floor, add
barrier beneath fans soft polyethylene body. On
smooth slick floors the barrier will also keep fan in
place during operation. Without enough traction,
the fan could move from the force of air. Always
position and orient fan before turning on.
Vertical Operation
Place fan on its back with the exhaust pointing straight
up. Turn on fan.
Side Operation
To operate on its side, which is normally against a wall,
point rubber feet toward wall, with intake vent away
from wall and other possible obstructions. Turn on fan.

Switch off and unplug fan from its power source
before connecting ducting. Also unplug any cords
plugged into the auxiliary outlets on fan.

2. Place a quick-ducting band over ridged spiral duct
about 1 foot from end.
3. Slide ducting 3 or 4 inches over top intake nozzle,
make sure it is even all around.
4. Secure in place by sliding quick-ducting band
along ducting and over the intake ducting flange.
5. Verify that ducting is sandwiched between fan
intake nozzle and quick-ducting band and even all
around making a good seal.
6. Position fan and ducting in desired orientation and
location.
7. Plug fan into power source.
8. Turn off any additional fans or equipment and plug
into fans onboard auxiliary outlets.
9. Switch fan on.
10. Observe ducting as air starts to flow through it,
ducting may move around.
11. Switch on other equipment plugged into the
auxiliary outlet.
Back Draft Prevention
Exhausting too much air from a space with Open
Combustion Devices ( e.g. furnace, fireplace or
water heater) can cause those devices to back draft.
This can contaminate the space with potentially
fatal gases.

Use the fan as a recirculating unit only. Exhausting no
air from the space and thus causing no negative
pressure or back drafting.
OR
Exhaust a very limited amount of air, wh ich does not
cause back drafting.
OR
Direct one or more outlet ducts from the fan to the room
with combustion devices. This will positively pressurize
the room, thus preventing back drafting.
When exhausting air from a space, always check
Combustion Devices with the fan running to
guarantee that back draft prevention measures are
working.

Stacking
During storage or transporting, fans can be stacked to
minimize required space. Always secure fans in place
with appropriate strapping. Do not stack fans any more than 4 high.
Never operate fans while they are stacked. This
could result in damage to the motors.

1. Stack fans by placing the first one with its feet flat

3. Strap fans together, and to a stable, strong structure, especially in a moving truck.
Cleaning Fan
The fan can be wiped down with a cleaning cloth.
Always unplug power and any other attached
components before cleaning. Always keep liquids
away from all electrical components.

1. Remove the motor/fan assembly from main
housing by removing base plates 6 screws.
2. While lowering base plate motor assembly out of
housing, detach the main harness electrical
connector from fan motor.
3. Wipe fan blades, motor mounting plates and inside
of housing.
Storing in Warehouse and in Delivery
Truck
Fans can be stored flat on their feet, on their backs, or
on their sides. Always store them inside away from
weather, in an area not exposed to excessive heat or
cold.
It is NOT recommended to stack fans vertically for long
periods of time. To minimize the amount of shelf space
required during storage, place fans on their sides.
Always secure stored fans, especially in a moving
vehicle and or when stacked.
NOTE: Do not store upside down with their intake
nozzle towards the floor or with the exhaust nozzle
pointed towards the floor.
For further cleaning, remove electrical console:
4. Remove the 4 back and bottom console mounting
screws from inside the housing.
5. Feed harness through holes in housing as it is
removed. The main housing should now be free of
any electrical components and can be safely
cleaned with most cleaning chemicals. High
pressure can also be used to clean housing now.
Do not use high temperature air or liquids on
plastic housing.
6. Finger guards are also bolted on, and can easily be
removed for cleaning.
7. To reassemble, reverse the disassembly steps.
NOTE: Always inspect all parts for damage during
disassembly and reassembly and have an authorized
service center replace any damaged components
with factory replacement parts.

Maintenance
Replacing GFCI
Always disconnect all auxiliary power cords and
accessories from fan before servicing. Always
disconnect fan from all power sources. Never run
or operate fan without all components in place
especially protective covers and grills.
Débranchez toujours tous les cordons électriques
et les accessoires auxiliaires du ventilateur avant
l'entretien. Débranchez toujours le ventilateur de
toutes les sources d'électricité. Ne faites jamais
fonctionner ou n'actionnez jamais le ventilateur
sans tous ses composants et plus particulièrement, les couvercles protecteurs et les grilles.
Replacing Fan/Motor Assembly
1. Remove the motor/fan assembly from main
housing by removing base plates 6 screws.
2. While lowering base plate motor assembly out of
housing, detach the main harness electrical
connector from fan motor.
3. Rotate bottom vent plate and align access holes.
Insert tool through holes and remove 4 mounting
screws from fan/motor assembly.
NOTE: The motor/fan is replaced as a matched unit,
never disassemble the fan from motor .
4. Reverse steps to reassemble.
1. Remove electrical console from main housing.
2. Remove screws bolting two halves of the console
together. Carefully separate the two halves taking
note of wire placement and routing.
3. Swing top half of console away from bottom far
enough to access mounting screws for the GFCI,
and remove.
4. Remove GFCI from housing and detach electrical
wires, noting all wire connections for reassembly.
Also consult wiring diagram during reassembly.
5. The original GFCI has one corner tab removed to
clear housing. Remove this same tab from new
GFCI and assemble in same orientation.
6. Torque the GFCI screws to 15 in-lbs.
Replacing Switch
1. Remove electrical console from main housing
2. Remove the screws bolting the two halves of the
console together. Carefully separate the two
halves taking note the wire placement and rou ting.
3. Swing top half of console away from bottom far
enough to access back of switch.
4. Press in mounting ears on each side of switch and
slide body out top of housing.
5. Note the wire attachment locations and colors/
numbers and orientation of switch for reassembly.
Removing Electrical Console
1. To remove the console assembly first remove the
fan/motor base plate assembly.
2. To remove electrical console from main housing,
remove 4 screws from inside the housing that
mount to back and bottom of console.
3. Feed harness through holes in housing as it is
removed.
4. Reverse steps to reassemble.

Replacing Power cord
1. Remove electrical console from main housing
2. Remove screws securing console halves together .
Carefully separate two halves noting wire
placement and routing.
3. Swing console halves open enough to access back
side of power cord.
4. Remove mounting nut from the trumpet shaped
strain relief. Disconnect wires noting location and
connections.
5. Reverse steps while consulting wiring diagram to
reassemble.
Circuit Breaker
1. Remove electrical console from main housing
2. Remove screws securing console halves together .
Carefully separate two halves noting wire
placement and routing.
3. Swing console halves open enough to access back
side of breaker.
Capacitor
1. Remove electrical console from main housing
2. Remove screws securing console halves together.
Carefully separate two halves noting wire
placement and routing.
3. Swing console halves open enough to access
capacitor, remove.
4. Before disconnecting capacitor, note wire connections, locations and color / numbers for reassembly. it is important that it is reconnected
properly. Disconnect wires from capacitor.
5. Reverse steps while consulting wiring diagram to
reassemble.
4. Before disconnecting circuit breaker note line and
load labeling, it is important that it is reconnected
properly. Disconnect wires from breaker.
5. Remove clear rubber boot on outside of housing
and slide breaker through hole in console.
6. Reverse steps while consulting wiring diagram to
reassemble.
