Operation

Before Use

Attach your spotting scope to a sturdy tripod to achieve clear, sharp images. The scope has a rotating tripod mounting
collar. Loosen the tripod collar and twist the scope to the desired position, then tighten clockwise to secure the scope
in place.

Eye Cup Adjustment

Use without eyeglasses: Do not fold the eye cup back.For use with eyeglasses: fold back the eye cup.

Sliding Sunshade

If you experience glare or lens flare due to the angle and direction of the sun extend the sunshade.

Changing the Magnification

Increase magnification by turning the adjustment ring to the left
(anticlockwise)

Decrease magnification by turning the adjustment ring to the right
(clockwise)

Focusing

To focus the spotting scope, slowly rotate the focus wheel until the image
in the eyepiece is clear and sharp.

Maintenance & Care

Cleaning

Remove any dust on the lenses with a soft lens brush. To remove any dirt or finger prints, clean with the supplied
micro-fibre cloth rubbing in a circular motion. Use of a coarse cloth or unnecessary rubbing may scratch the lens
surface and will eventually cause permanent damage. The included washable microfiber cleaning cloth is ideal for
routine cleaning. Simply breathe lightly on the lens to provide a slight amount of moisture, then gently rub the lens
with the microfiber cloth. For a more thorough cleaning we recommend the use of a lens/optics cleaning kit available
at most photo or optical shops. Additionally photographic lens cleaning fluid or isopropyl alcohol may be used. Always
apply the fluid to the cleaning cloth – never directly on the lens.
The housing is best cleansed with a soft, moist cloth (don’t use the lens-cleaning cloth).

Storage

Please protect your spotting scope from jolts and jars and do not force any of the moving parts beyond their limits.
Protect the optics of your spotting scope by applying all lens caps when not in use.
You should also store your spotting scope in a well-ventilated and dark place. A wet spotting scope should be dried
before storage.
When storing for an extended period of time, place the spotting scope in a plastic bag or airtight container with a
desiccant.

Warranty

PRAKTICA grant a worldwide warranty of 25 years from the date of purchase in accordance with the following
conditions:

If defects in material and/or workmanship appear, we will take over material costs for the entire warranty period. We
reserve the right in such instances to repair or replace the instrument or the defective part at our discretion. During the
first five years we will take over the costs for materials and work.

This guarantee in no way limits the statutory warranty obligations.

In the event that products are updated, we reserve the right to repair defective instruments or to replace them with
those of equal value.

We undertake no liability for repairs carried out by a repair shop which has not been authorized by us, nor for damages
caused by improper use, nor for direct or indirect damages brought about by defects on the instrument. In addition,
all parts are excluded from the warranty which are subject to natural wear, such as eye cups, carry straps, cases,
armouring, etc.

Bedienung

Vor Dem Gebrauch

Bringen Sie Ihr Spektiv vor dem Betrachten an einem stabilen Stativ an, da Größe und Leistung des Spektivs ein
solides Stativ erfordern, das für Stabilität sorgt, damit klare, scharfe Bilder erreicht warden. Das Spektiv verfügt über
ein drehbares Lager für die Stativmontage. Lösen Sie den Knopf des Stativlagers und drehen Sie das Spektiv in die
gewünschte Position und drehen Sie den Knopf im Uhrzeigersinn wieder fest, um das Spektiv zu sichern

Augenmuschel-Einstellung

Die Positionder Sichtführung kann einfach durch Drehen der Störlichtblende geändert werden.

Ändern Der Vergrösserung

Den Zoom-Ring am Okular drehen, um die Vergrößerungsleistung von
niedrig auf hoch zu ändern. Niedrigere Leistungseinstellungen bieten ein
helleres Bild mit einem größeren Sichtfeld; höhere Leistungen ermöglichen
das Betrachten kleinerer Details an weiter entfernten Objekten.

Fokussieren

Das Highlander verfügt über ein duales Fokussystem, das eine Schnell­und eine Feinfokussierung ermöglicht. Drehen Sie zum Fokussieren des
Spektivs langsam am Schnellfokusknopf, bis das Bild im Okular klar und
scharf ist. Drehen Sie zur Feineinstellung langsam am Feinfokusknopf, bis
das Bild im Okular klar und scharf ist.

Wasserdicht / Beschlagfrei

Das Spektiv ist für vollständigen Schutz gegen Feuchtigkeit durch einen
O-Ring abgedichtet. Spektive sind mit trockenem Stickstoff gefüllt, damit
das Gehäuse innen nicht beschlägt.

Wartung und Pflege

Reignigung

Entfernen Sie Staub mithilfe einer weichen Objektivbürste oder einer Druckluftdose von den Objektiven. Um Schmutz
oder Fingerabdrücke zu entfernen, reinigen Sie die Objektive mit dem mitgelieferten Mikrofasertuch in kreisförmigen
Bewegungen. Die Verwendung eines rauen Tuches oder ein unnötiges Rubbeln kann die Objektivoberfläche zerkratzen
und wird schließlich dazu führen, dauerhaften Schaden. Das enthaltene waschbare Mikrofaser-Reinigungstuch ist ideal
für die routinemäßige Reinigung der Optik. Hauchen Sie das Objektiv an, um dieses ganz leicht anzufeuchten, und
reiben Sie die Oberfläche behutsam mit dem Mikrofasertuch ab.
Zusätzlich, für eine gründlichere Reinigung empfehlen wir die Verwendung eines Reinigungs-Kits für Linsen/ Objektive,
das in den meisten Foto- oder Optik-Geschäften erhältlich ist oder Isopropylalkohol verwenden. Geben Sie das
Reinigungsmittel stets auf das Tuch und niemals direkt auf das Objektiv.

Das Gehäuse pflegen Sie am besten mit einem weichen, feuchten Putztuch (nicht mit dem Optik-Reinigungstuch).

Aufbewahrung

Schützen Sie bitte Ihr Teleskop vor Stößen und beanspruchen Sie die beweglichen Teile nicht über deren Grenzen
hinaus.
Schützen Sie die optischen Teile Ihres Spektivs, indem Sie bei Nicht-Verwendung alle Objektiv-Kappen anwendung.
Sie sollten Ihr Teleskop an einem gut gelüfteten dunklen Ort aufbewahren. Ist das Teleskop nass, muss es vorher
getrocknet werden.
Legen Sie das Spektiv für eine Aufbewahrung über einen längeren Zeitraum zusammen mit einem Trockenmittel in
einen Plastikbeutel oder einen luftdichten Behälter.
Entfernen Sie Staub, Schmutz oder Wasser so schnell wie möglich, da diese in das Spektiv oder die internen
beweglichen Teile eindringen können und unvorhergesehene Schäden verursachen können.
