Safety Notes for Airbags
dDanger!
Passenger airbags can cause severe or
mortal injuries to children when they are
triggered.
f In all vehicles, it is impermissible to use the
child seat on the front passenger seat without
deactivating the passenger airbag.
f Switch the passenger airbag off using the key
switch if you use the child seat on the front
passenger seat.
f For sports cars without key switch, the
passenger airbag must be switched off using
the additionally required cross-bar with buckle
(refer to the Driver’s Manual).
dDanger!
Side airbags can cause severe or mortal
injuries to children when they are triggered.
f Make sure that the head of your child can not
come near the side airbag when the child leans
out of the child seat.
dWarning!
Deactivated passenger airbags do not
provide any protection in an accident.
f Switch the passenger airbag on again after
removing the child seat.

Safety Notes 37
dDanger!
Danger of severe or mortal injuries if the
following instructions are not followed.
f Always secure your baby in the baby shell.
GB
f Never trap the end of the belt in moving parts
(e.g. automatic doors, escalators...).
f Never leave your baby out of your sight when
you place him or her on a raised surface (e.g.
changing table, tabletop...).
dDanger!
Danger of burns by hot plastic parts on the
child seat if the seat was exposed to the sun.
f Protect the child seat against exposure to
intense sunlight.
dWarning!
Loss of safety function.
f Regularly inspect all important parts for signs
of damage. Make sure that the mechanical
components function properly.
f The child seat must not be used without a
cover. Make sure to use only a genuine cover,
because the cover is an essential part of the
system function.
f Always have a damaged child seat (e.g. after
being dropped, etc.) checked by the
manufacturer.
f An accident with an impact speed of more than
10 km/h (6 mph) can cause damage to the
child seat that is not necessarily obvious.
Always have this child seat checked by the
manufacturer and replace it if necessary.
Notes
dNotes!
f Please do not leave your child alone in the
vehicle.
f Using the child seat can produce signs of wear
on some sensitive car seats (e.g. leather). To
avoid this, you can place a blanket or a towel
underneath the child seat.
f Make sure that the child seat is not trapped
between hard parts (vehicle door, seat rails,
etc).
f In order to protect your baby, do not place any
objects in the footwell in front of the ISOFIX
adapter.
f The baby shell requires only one vehicle seat.
However, this does require the baby to be in a
semi-reclined position. Take your baby out of
the baby shell as often as possible in order to
relieve his or her spinal column. When outside
the vehicle, also remember not to leave your
baby in the baby shell for too long a time.
f Please refer to your vehicle’s Driver’s Manual
for information on how to use the ISOFIX
mounting points in your vehicle.
