Home audio quality on the PC
Philips has used over 75 years experience at the leading edge of audio to create PC audio products with the same performance as our award winning home audio systems.
75 years of audio experience
Philips invented the CD, led the team that wrote the USB audio specification and has produced millions of audio systems, home cinema sets and TV's over many decades. As a leader in audio innovation, you can trust Philips to make PC sound systems of the highest sound quality.
Digital sound quality
Audio is transferred as a digital signal and only at the last minute is it converted to an analogue signal. This reduces the amount of interference on the signal and results in playback that is true to the original recording.
Sound Agent 2
Sound Agent 2 is intelligent software that comes with a fun and easy-to-use graphical interface. It takes the confusion out of PC audio by automatically optimising sounds for all popular formats. Sound Agent 2 makes it easy to fine-tune any audio performance to suit your personal musical taste.
Class D Amplifier
Class ‘D’ digital amplifier takes an analogue signal, converts it into a digital signal and then amplifies the signal digitally. The signal then enters a demodulation filter to give the final output. The amplified digital output delivers all the advantages of digital audio, including improved sound quality. In addition, Class ‘D’ digital amplifier has greater than 90% efficiency compared to traditional AB amplifiers. This high efficiency translates into a powerful amplifier with a small footprint.

Bass reflex speaker system
Bass reflex speaker system delivers a deep bass experience from a compact loudspeaker box system. It differs from a conventional loudspeaker box system in the addition of a bass pipe that is acoustically aligned to the woofer to optimise the low frequency roll off of the system. The result is deeper controlled bass and lower distortion. The system works by r esona ting the air ma ss in the bass pipe to vibrate like a conventional woofer. Combined with the response of the woofer, the system extends the overall low frequency sounds to create a whole new dimension of deep bass.
Ultra Bass
Ultra Bass, a patented Philips technology, dramatically improves the perceived bass response of small speak ers . It see ks out and pl ays th e harm onics found in ultra low bass frequencies to deliver sound quality that far exceeds your expectations.
MP3 Energy Boost
When CD's are ripped to MP3, some of the dynamics are lost due to compression. MP3 Energy Boost dynamically analyses MP3 and WMA files and adds frequencies that were lost during compression. The result i s mo re d efined and rea listi c M P3's t hat a re close r to the original CD track.
