SEQUOIA PRESENTATION
Sequoia consists of a multispectral sensor camera and a sunshine sensor, both integrated into Parrot Bluegrass.
Sequoia was designed specifically for agriculture, based on three main demands: excellent precision, minimal size and weight, optimal ease of use.
It allows the mapping of agricultural plots/fields over several spectral bands, and the evaluation of the health of crops: green (550 nm wavelength, 40 nm bandwidth), red (660 nm wavelength, 40 nm bandwidth), red-edge (735 nm wavelength, 10 nm bandwidth) and near InfraRed (790 nm wavelength, 40 nm bandwidth).
The data collected by Sequoia is exploited by ParrotFields, which offers farmers the best unified solution for mapping,
scouting and diagnosing their crops.

SUNSHINE SENSOR
The sunshine sensor is used to match each image taken by the multispectral sensor, to the light available when it was taken. This enables the comparison of images over a full flight, despite variations in available light during the flight. The sunshine sensor is integrated into the top part of the drone, facing the sky.
Parrot recommends using the SD card provided

with Sequoia. Performance is not guaranteed with other SD cards. Refer to the list of compatible SD cards on my.parrot-business.com

PRE-FLIGHT CHECKS
REGULATIONS
Parrot Bluegrass must be used strictly in compliance with current local regulations. The places where it is used must be suitable for manoeuvring in order to ensure the continuous safety of people, animals and property.
It may not be permitted to use Parrot Bluegrass in certain public places (e.g. train stations, airports, etc.) or on public roads.
The pilot must, at all times, maintain visual contact with Parrot Bluegrass and control its trajectory.
Before you fly your Parrot Bluegrass, check the restrictions regarding the use of Wi-Fi frequencies in the place where you are going to fly it. Certain frequencies may be restricted or prohibited. For instance, in some countries the use of the 5 GHz band for your Wi-Fi may be prohibited for outdoor locations.
FLIGHT CONDITIONS
Do not fly Parrot Bluegrass at night.
Check the weather conditions to ensure good flight and visual conditions. Do not use Parrot Bluegrass if it is raining/snowing, if there is fog, or winds in excess of 8 meters per second or 30 km/h.
Avoid flying the drone over water under an altitude of 10 meters (30 ft).
Make sure you have at least 10 meters (30 ft) in
ENGLISH
15
diameter of clear space for your Parrot Bluegrass to take off and land. Check that the flight area has no obstacle that might interfere with flight phases or prevent visual contact.
Make sure the flight altitude programmed in ParrotFields (relative to take-off point) is sufficient to avoid obstacles in the surrounding area.
PARROT BLUEGRASS
Make sure the Parrot Bluegrass propellers are properly mounted and secured.
Make sure the Parrot Bluegrass battery is charged.
Make sure you are in a wide, open space.
SEQUOIA
Make sure that the lenses are clean. Use the microfibre cloth (supplied) to clean them.
Free up enough memory (on the SD card or in the multispectral sensor internal memory) so you can save all the photos taken during the flight.
16
DOWNLOADING THE APP AND SOFTWARE

3. Connect the battery to the charger's cable, then
plug the charger into the mains.
The control light of the charger is red while charging and then turns green when the battery is charged.
ENGLISH
17
The charge time is about 2 hours and 30 minutes for a flight time of about 25 minutes.
INSTALLING THE BATTERY INSIDE THE PARROT BLUEGRASS
1. Remove the battery compartment's cover from the back of the drone.
2. Slide the battery inside the compartment, keeping its wires outside and to the left.
3. Close the battery compartment's cover, leaving the wires out through the cover's aperture.
4. Connect the black wire to the Parrot Bluegrass connector.
5. The Parrot Bluegrass emits a triple tone: it is ready to be powered on.
CHARGING THE PARROT SKYCONTROLLER 2 BATTERY
1. Select the adapter appropriate for your country and attach it to the charger.
2. Connect the charger cable to Parrot Skycontroller 2, then plug the charger to the mains.
3. When the charger's control light turns from red to green, the charge is complete.
18
INSTALLING THE PROPELLERS
With the drone powered off, hold the base of the engine
and screw the propellers on the Parrot Bluegrass motors.
The Parrot Bluegrass uses two types of propellers: plain black ones (front left and back right, screw clockwise) and whitedotted ones (front right and back left, screw anticlockwise). Refer to gures A and B to make sure you respect the propellers' respective positions.

22
PARROTFIELDS
ParrotFields features a one-year access to the ParrotFields mapping app that simplifies the entire in-field workflow – from the planning of automatic mapping flights, to generating real time NDVI maps, unique semi-automated scouting flights over areas of interest (including ondemand photo and video capture), and adding text annotations and photos shot with the app directly from the ground.
ParrotFields complete User Guide is available at my.parrot-business.com
PIX4DFIELDS
In addition to the ParrotFields mapping app, Parrot Bluegrass Fields includes a one-year subscription to Pix4Dfields desktop and cloud software for further indepth analysis of the crop data gathered, including the creation of index maps for crop performance analysis and prescription maps that are easily exported to tractors and Farm Management Information Systems.
