INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Panasonic Back Wind and Hail Shield (Baffle) Part Number WINDB-XE1
CONTENTS INCLUDED: 2 side panels (R and L), 1 outer panel, 1 top panel, 8 sheet metal screws, 8 washers, 8 spacers, 16 screws, 16 locknuts and 16 shoulder spacers.
GENERAL: The WINDB-XE1 Rear wind baffle is for
The baffle is made to be placed on the coil intake side of the unit. See Fig. 1 below.
*Note: This back shield is only required for applications for which the mini split is not adjacent to a structure that would protect the intake side from prevailing wind, such as a roof top.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURES:
Remove all the protective film on the clear parts. Attach the back to both side panels, then fasten the top Panel to the sides and back, (Fig. 2) do not tighten. After all the fasteners are in place, then tighten all the fasteners. Attach the assembled baffle to the unit using the provided screws, spacers and washers. Be sure to leave a 4in opening above the unit as shown in Fig. 1
BEFORE DRILLING OR SCREWING INTO THE UNIT, MAKE SURE THERE WILL BE NO CONTACT WITH REFRIGERANT TUBING OR ELECTRICAL WIRES. CHECK FOR CLEARANCE.

Caution: Do not over tighten lock Nut. Tighten nut until slightly snug, then back off until it will lightly twist or spin.
