IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Basic precautions should always be followed when using an electrical unit, including the following.
Read all instructions before using the unit.
DANGER – To reduce the risk of electric shock:
1. Always unplug the unit immediately after use.
2. Always unplug the unit before cleaning
WARNING – To reduce the risk of burns, fire, electric shock, or injury to persons:
1. Always insert the power plug all the way into the outlet to reduce the risk of short-circuit and fire.
2. The unit should never be left unattended when plugged in. Always unplug the unit when not in use.
3. Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by, on, or near children, invalids, or disabled persons.
4. Only use the unit for the purpose described in these instructions.
5. Do not stand on the unit.
6. Do not use any accessories other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
7. This unit should not be used by children. Keep children away from the unit.
8. Never operate the unit if it has a damaged power cord or plug. Return the unit to the nearest authorized service center if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or if it has been immersed or exposed in water.
9. Keep the power cord away from heated surfaces. Do not pull the appliance by the power cord.
10. Do not use the unit on top of heating appliances, such as electric carpets, etc.
11. Do not use the unit in bathrooms or other damp or humid places as this may cause electric shock or cause the unit to malfunction. Do not spill water, etc. onto the control panel.
12. Do not use the unit outdoors.
13. Do not use the unit in places where aerosol spray products are in use or where oxygen is being administered.
14. When unplugging the unit, turn off all controls before removing the plug from power outlet. Do not use the unit with a transformer as this may lead to malfunction or electric shock.
15. Connect this unit to a properly grounded outlet only. See Grounding Instructions.
16. To avoid electric shock or injury, do not attempt to open or disassemble any part of the unit as it contains no user-serviceable parts.
17. Never drop or insert any object into any opening.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: To avoid the risk of injury:
Before using the Core Trainer Fitness Equipment, please read the following instructions carefully. They contain important safety information and instructions on the proper use and maintenance of the equipment.
1. Before beginning any exercise program, consult your physician for a complete physical examination and suggested exercise program specific for your condition. Base your program of exercise on the advice given by your doctor. Incorrect or excessive exercise may damage your health or aggravate any pre-existing medical condition.
2. Warm up prior to beginning any exercise program by proper stretching to prepare muscles and joints for exercise and help avoid possible injury.
3. Immediately discontinue use if you should feel faint, dizzy, nauseous or experience discomfort or other abnormal symptoms.
4. Do not wear loose clothing which could become caught in moving parts.
5. Do not stand or kneel on seat. Always sit squarely centered. Sit straight up, hold seat firmly between your legs and hold onto the handle. (See page 10.)
6. Do not use footrests to mount or dismount Core Trainer seat. Footrests are for balance and support when riding and are not for mounting or dismounting. Use of footrests for mounting or dismounting may result in breaking and possible injury.
7. Place the unit on a level area with sufficient room for exercise movements.
8. This Core Trainer Fitness Equipment is designed for adult use. The unit is not for use by children. Keep children away from unit to prevent injury.
9. This equipment is to be used only for its intended purpose; physical exercise by adult persons. This equipment is not to be used or operated in a manner that allows it to lift from the floor.
10. Check components periodically to insure the equipment is in good condition, particularly the handle, footrests, fabric and the power cord. Disconnect unit and replace worn parts or send the unit in for service.
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
Do not use the unit in a location of high humidity. Do not operate the unit if the fabric has been torn as this may also result in shock.

OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: To avoid damaging the unit or risk of personal injury, follow these precautions:
1. Do not use or store the unit in a location that is exposed to direct sunlight or in a hot location, such as near a heater, or on heating equipment, such as an electric carpet.
2. Do not damage, excessively bend, pull, or twist the power cord. Do not allow the cord to hang (drape) or route where it can cause a tripping hazard.
3. Do not disassemble, repair, or modify the unit.
4. Do not spill water or liquids on the unit or control panel.
5. The unit is designed for home use.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This product must be grounded. If it should malfunction or break down, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This product is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
DANGER
Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or serviceman if you are in doubt as to whether the product is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with the product – if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
This product is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit and has a grounding plug that looks like the plug illustrated in Figure A. Make sure that the product is connected to an outlet having the same configuration as the plug. No adapter should be used with this product.

SETTING UP
1. Lift up the front end and move the unit by rolling it on its wheels.
Notes
T Do not move the unit while holding the handle. T Do not move the unit the cavity below the front section.
The cavity is not a handle.
T Do not step on the power plug while moving the unit. T Slowly lift and move the unit while taking care not to injure
your lower back.
2. Lay out the supplied mat and place the unit on the mat.
* Lay out the mat so that the rubber surface faces down.
T When laying out the mat, a space of 31.5 in. (80 cm)
to the left and to the right and 23.6 in. (60 cm) to the front and to the rear of the mat is required. (see illustration)
Notes T When using the unit on carpet, marks may
remain on the carpet even if the unit was first placed on the mat.
T If there is concern about vibration or noise
downstairs, lay out a thick mat that is commercially available.
T Be sure to place the unit on the mat before
use.
- Using the unit without the mat may result in scratches on the floor.

OPERATION
1. Plug the power plug into the power outlet.
T
Do not allow the cord to hang (drape) or route cord where it can cause a tripping hazard.
2. Turn the lock switch key to the “open” position.
3. Slide the power switch to the “on” position.
4. Attach the footrest bracket and the footrest. There are two footrests, one each for the left and right feet.
(see the footrest positioning guide below)

Note T Wear socks while exercising.
CAUTION
T Do not wear pants made of thin material, shorts or similar clothing that will allow your skin to come into
direct contact with the seat and footrests.
- Doing so may result in injury due to abrasion.
(1) Attach the footrest bracket to the footrest hook at
a 90° horizontal angle and turn down.

* Attach the left footrest and the right
footrest at the same positions.
(2) Attach the footrest to the footrest bracket.
Attach the footrest at a 90° horizontal angle and turn down.
For left foot
Attach so that the “L” and “R” letters are facing out.

5. Sit on the seat.
Notes
T Do not touch the control panel when getting on the unit. T Do not get on the unit by placing your foot into the footrest.
6. Sit on the seat and confirm the length of the footrests.
Slightly bend your knees and adjust the footrests to a length at which your feet are firmly held. Place your feet in the footrests. If they feel too tight or too loose, get off the unit and again adjust the footrest length.
7. Stretch your muscles.
T Stretching is recommended before using the unit.

Step on the footrests with the balls (widest part) of your feet.
Relationship between exercise effect and footrests
The use of footrests and the exercise effect have the relationship below.

Basic posture while exercising
(for effective exercise)

1. Simply sit up straight on the seat of the trainer in a relaxed position.
2. Keep your head, shoulders and hips centered over the seat as the seat moves.
3. Place your feet in the footrests.
4. You may hold the handle to help steady yourself.
During the forward tilt of the seat, balance yourself and support your upper body by pushing your heels toward the front.
During the backward tilt of the seat, balance yourself by pulling your heels toward the back and holding the seat firmly between your legs.

* Regular exercise once a day is recommended. (The frequency per day should be determined by your physical fitness and condition.)
1. Press the OFF/ON button.
T After the button is pressed, the lights flash for
the OFF/ON button, pre-set programs, and manual control.
* Press one of the Manual Control or Pre-Set Programs
buttons within one minute after pressing the OFF/ON button. If a button is not pressed within this time, the unit automatically turns off.
2. Exercise by pressing either the Manual Control button or Pre-Set Programs buttons. (See page 11.)
Manual control permits you to adjust the speed level and the tilting of the seat. Pre-set programs automatically switch the speed level and the tilting of the seat.
Notes T When using the unit for the first time, familiarize yourself with the speed levels using manual control and
exercise at a reasonable speed to match your physical condition.
T When starting out, familiarize yourself with the operation by using the unit without tilting the seat.
3. The unit automatically shuts off after about 15 minutes.
CAUTION – To avoid the risk of personal injury:
T Do not get on or off the unit during operation. T Immediately stop using the unit if you experience any discomfort, such as pain in your lower back, numbness in
your legs, dizziness, or palpitations.
T First-time users should familiarize themselves with the operation of the unit by manually setting speed level 1 and
without tilting the seat. Use a slow speed level and horizontal setting to match your physical condition until you become accustomed to the exercise. Stop using if you experience pain or unusual symptoms.
Notes T Avoid sitting on the unit during operation while shifting your
bodyweight to one side of the unit or rocking left and right.
- Doing so will slow down the operation of the unit and may cause a malfunction.
T If using the handle, hold it gently and sit on the unit while keeping
your balance.
T Exceeding the recommended maximum weight of 264 lbs (120 kg)
may stop the operation for safety.
- In this instance, reset the flashing lamps by pressing the OFF/ON button and do not apply excessive weight.
