Before Installing the Software
To print from the computer and use all of your printer’s features,
you must install the printer drivers. Before using your printer,
follow these instructions to install the drivers.
The drivers are located on the CD-ROM included with your
printer.

Installation instructions are included for printers connected to
computers by a USB connection and a parallel connection.
NOTE
Oki Data recommends using a USB connection, as your
printer is performance optimized for a USB interface.

INSTALL THE PRINTER DRIVER
NOTE
The installation procedure may vary slightly depending on the operating system and interface
connection you are using. Drivers are provided for Windows
1. Make sure the cable is connected to your printer and PC and your printer is turned OFF.
2. Insert the driver CD supplied with your printer into your CD-ROM drive. The CD will autorun.
(If it doesn’t, click Start → Run → Browse. Browse to your CD-ROM drive and double-click
Install.exe, click OK.)
3. The License Agreement appears. Click Next if you accept the terms.
4. Select your language.
5. Select the printer model. Click Continue.

6. The Software Installation screen appears. Click the Printer Driver Installer button.
7. Click Local printer. Click Next.
8. Select the port (USB or LPT1 parallel). Click Next.
9. Printer model displays. Click Next.
10. If prompted, type a printer name for your printer. Click Next.
11. If prompted, select “do not share this printer” Click Next.
12. Drivers are copied. Connect cable message may appear.
13. Switch the printer ON.
NOTE
If New Hardware Found Wizard displays:
Win 98: Select “Search for the best driver for your device”. Click Next. Select CD-ROM drive, clear
other choices. Click Next twice.
Win XP and Win Me: Select “Automatic Search for a better driver.” Click Next.
14. Click Finish to complete the installation.
15. If Connect cable screen is open, click Finish to close it.

NOTE
In order to open the on-line User’s Guide, you must have Acrobat Reader installed.
1. Click the Documentation button.
2. Click the Install User’s Guide button.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Print a Test Page
1. Click Start →Settings→Printers.
2. Right-click OKI B4350(PCL) icon.
3. Click Properties.
4. Click the General Tab.
5. Click the Print Test Page button.

NOTE
The B4350n printer is network-ready. To network the B4350
printer, the optional OkiLAN 8100e Internal Printer Server
(PN 70049701), or 6020e External Print Server
(PN 70036001) must be installed.
NOTE
For additional information, install the Network User’s Guide
located on the CD-ROM. Run the Menu Installer, then click
the Documentation/Network User’s Guide buttons.
Before beginning the installation:
• If you are not using DHCP, you need to obtain an IP
Address from your network Administrator and enter it using
the front panel:

NOTE
In order to send documents to the printer, the LPR utility must
be installed. This utility installs automatically when the
drivers are installed from the Installation CD using the Menu
Installer as instructed here. If drivers are installed using
Windows Add Printer Wizard, you need to load the LPR Utility
from the Menu Installer —click the Network Install button,
click Installation/Config/OKI LPR.

1. Turn on the printer, then turn on the computer.
2. Place the Drivers CD supplied with your printer into the
CD-ROM drive.
3. Double-click the CD icon that appears on the desktop.
4. Open the MAC folder.
5. Double-click the PCLDRV folder.
6. Open your language folder.
7. Double-click the OKI B4350 MAC Installer icon, then
click Continue and accept the license agreement.
8. Select MAC OS 9.1+Install from the drop-down menu.
Click Install.
9. When the installation is complete, click Quit.
Create the Desktop printer for USB
1. Activate Chooser from the Apple menu.
2. Select the B4350 USB icon.
3. Highlight the printer model.
4. Close Chooser.

printer driver.
1. Turn on the printer, then turn on the computer.
2. Place the Drivers CD supplied with the printer in the
CD-ROM drive.
3. Double-click the CD icon that appears on the desktop.
4. Open the MAC folder.
5. Double-click your language.
6. Double-click the OKI B4350 Mac Installer icon, then click
Continue and accept the License agreement.
7. Select Custom Install from the drop-down menu located in
the left corner. Click Install.
8. Check PCL Driver for MAC OS X.1+. Click Install.
9. When the installation is complete, click Quit.
ADDING THE PRINTER FOR A NETWORK
1. Run the Print Center (Local HD → Applications →
Utilities → Print Center).
2. Click Printers from the menu bar.
3. Click Add Printer.
4. Select OKI TCP/IP from the drop down menu.
5. Enter the IP address.
6. Highlight the printer model from the product list.
7. Click Add.
8. Close the Print Center.
