Description
The Jaz Battery pack (JAZ-EXT-BP-50WH) is an accessory 5V power supply for Jaz, a community of
stackable optical sensing instruments. This battery pack is a multi-purpose, rechargeable Lithium-ion
external battery that connects to the JAZ-DPU module and prolongs uptime by 3X.
The battery pack is rated at 50 Watt-Hours while the JAZ-B battery module is rated at 14.8 WattHours. External LED indicators indicate the battery pack’s charge state.

One universal cable with 3.5mm jack that
connects to the 3V/8.4V power supply
(always use this cable when interfacing
with Jaz)
Cable adapters
Ensure that the switch is
set all the way to the
right for 5V operation as
indicated on label
Set-up and Operation
Charging the Battery
Charge the battery pack using either the included AC adapter or the included car adapter. Always
follow the manufacturer’s recommended instructions for charging the external battery pack.
Connecting the Battery Pack to Jaz
► Procedure
1. Make sure that the selector switch on the back of the battery pack is set to 5V.
2. Insert the cable mating plug into the DC jack adapter with the 3.5mm output as shown below:
