Play Your Music
The Nokia 530 0 XpressMusic ph one makes it easy to enjoy
your favor ite tunes. You can lis ten to music track s or other
MP3, AAC, A AC+, and enhance d AAC+ sound files that you
have legall y downloaded from a m usic provider. You can
also liste n to music from your com patible PC or Mac.
Play Music Usin g the Shortcut Keys
1. Play/Pau se: Use this button t o play or pause a song.
2. Rewi nd and Fast Forward: To rew ind the current tra ck,
press and ho ld . To fast forward the cu rrent track,
press and ho ld . Release the key at the p osition you
want to cont inue. To skip to the nex t track, press .
To skip to the beg inning of the previ ous track, press .
3. Volume: Us e these keys to adjus t the volume.
4. End Key: To sto p the music player, pres s and hold the End key.
Play Music Usin g the Music Player
1. Sele ct Menu.
2. Scro ll to and select Mus ic.
3. Press t he center select ion key to play your song .
4. Press t he End key to close the mu sic player and to cont inue music
playback in t he background. To stop t he music player, press an d
hold the End ke y.
While a song is p laying, your
phone can re ceive incoming

Take a look at how easy i t is to transfer music f rom your compatib le PC or Mac to your phone . The Nokia 5300 Xpres sMusic
phone can ho ld up to 180 WMA songs, 275 M P3 songs, or 750 eAAC+ songs on t he preinstalle d 1 GB memory card.* So ngs
purchased f rom iTunes are not compat ible with this de vice. For more infor mation on how to use t he memory card, go t o
the “Use Your Mem ory Card” sec tion of this guide. A lso see the Get Star ted Poster and th e User Guide.
1. Conne ct your Nokia 5300 Xp ressMusic phone t o your
compatib le PC or MAC with th e USB cable (include d in
the box).
2. On the p hone, select OK to ma ke the connectio n.
3. Scro ll to and select Dat a Storage.
Your phone is now co nnected to your com patible
computer as a m ass storage memor y device
(“removable d isk”).
4. Locat e the songs that are sa ved on your computer an d drag and
drop them to t he My Music folder in t he Removable Disk dr ive.
5. Aft er your files trans fer successfull y, on your computer’s ta sk bar,
click Safe ly Remove Hardware. ( )
6. Disco nnect the USB cabl e.
Update and View Your Music Library
After you l oad your Nokia 5300 Xp ressMusic phone w ith your tunes, yo u must update
your music li brary to listen to y our songs.
Update Your Music Li brary
1. Sele ct Menu.
2. Scro ll to and select Mus ic.
3. Sele ct Options.
4. Scro ll to and select Mus ic library.
5. Scro ll to and select Upda te library.
6. Press O K once the Music libra ry is updated.
View and Searc h Music Files
1. From the M usic player, select O ptions.
2. Scro ll to and select Mus ic Library.
3. Choos e from All tracks , Artists, A lbums,
Genres, Com posers, and Track lis ts.
Use the Equal izer to improve your
music quali ty. From the Music
Player menu, s election Opt ions >
Media equal izer and activa te
your sett ings.
To view downlo aded music on your
memory c ard, press the Menu ke y,
then selec t Fun & Apps > Galler y >
and selec t your memory card .
You can use Musi c Sync to sync your play list with

Use Your Memory Card
Remove Your Memory C ard
Your Nokia 5300 X pressMusic phon e comes with a preins talled microSD me mory card.
When you dow nload music, it is aut omatically sa ved on this card. To remove yo ur card:
1. Make sure t hat no applicat ion is currently acce ssing the microSD me mory card.
2. Remove t he back cover of the phon e.
3. Press t he microSD card slig htly in to release th e lock, and remove th e microSD
card from t he slot.
Insert Your Memo ry Card
With the ba ck cover of the phone rem oved:
1. Inser t the card into the mi croSD card slot wit h the contact
surface fa cing backwar ds, and press it unt il it locks into plac e.
2. Close t he back cover of the pho ne.
Delete Music F iles
1. Sele ct Menu.
2. Scro ll to and select Fun & Ap ps.
3. Sele ct Gallery.
4. Sele ct Memory card .
5. Sele ct My music.
6. Highl ight the song you want t o delete.
7. Sele ct Options.
8. Scro ll to and select Del ete.
9. Press Yes To conf irm your select ion.
Transfer Music with Yahoo! Music Jukebox
1. From your d esktop, click th e Yahoo! Music Jukebox icon t o launch the player.
2. Sign in w ith your Yahoo! ID and pa ssword.
Note: If you are no t currently a Yahoo! me mber, sign up for an account a t www.yahoo.com.
3. Conne ct your Nokia 5300 Xp ressMusic phone t o your compatible P C with the USB cabl e (included in the box).
4. On your p hone, select OK to ch oose the USB cable mo de.
5. Scro ll to and select Mus ic Sync.
Note: Once your c ompatible PC f inds the hardware, a po p-up box called M TP Media Player or Por table Device
appears on yo ur computer screen .
6. Sele ct Add music to the dev ice using Yahoo! Mus ic Jukebox.
7. Click O K.
Note: Your Noki a 5300 XpressMusic ph one now appears und er the Portable D evices categor y in the left
hand column.
8. Click N okia 5300 or Nokia – Me mory Card on the le ft hand column.
Another po p-up box appears w ith instruct ions to add music .
9. Click e ither OK or Synchron ize. When you click OK , you can drag and drop p laylists and ind ividual track s to
the Nokia 530 0. When you click Sync hronize, another po p-up box appears a llowing you to choo se settings
for this dev ice. Choose to syn chronize all track s and playlists , synchronize all m usic stored in My Mus ic, or
synchro nize specific pl aylists. Once yo u select your set tings, click Be gin Transferring Track s.
10. Transfer you r tracks and/or play lists.
11. Discon nect the USB cable .
12. Update yo ur music library (se e “Update and View Your Mu sic Library” fo r more informatio n).
