Introduction
Congra tulations on your new BG-N16 battery grip
purchase. Enjoy the many benefits that a battery gr ip
offers, such as extended shooting time and more control
and comfor t when shooting in a vertical (por trait)
orientation.
The Vello BG-N16 is compatible with the Nikon D5500
DSLR camera, and accepts up to t wo Nikon EN -EL14
or EN-EL14a rechargeable batteries (not included). The
battery grip is equipped wi th an alternative shu tterrelease but ton that triggers the camera via the included
shutter release ca ble for shooting in a vertical position.
This is ideal for portrait photography.
Please read through this entire manual b efore using
the BG-N16 battery grip.

Precautions
1.
The BG-N16 should only be used with compatible
devices specified in this manual.
2. Only use with batteries recommended in this manual.
3. If you notice smoke, an unusual smell or noise from the
battery pack, discontinue use immediately. Remove
the bat teries and take the device to a Vello authorized
reseller.
4.
The bat tery level may not display properly if batteries
are mounted before mounting the grip.
5. Remove batteries from the grip w hen not in use.
6. Do not attempt to disassemble.
7.
Avoid water or extreme humidity and keep in a dry cool
place.
8. Keep out of reach of children.
