BEFORE USING YOUR NESCO/AMERICAN HARVEST
JUICER / BLENDER
• For best results, fresh juice needs to be consumed soon after the juicing process.
• Fresh juice is very concentrated and should be consumed slowly in small quantities.
• Certain fruits and vegetables, such as cabbage and beets, can be hard to digest. Mixing in
carrots or other mild vegetables will help to ease the impact on the body. Below you will nd recipes to use with your 2 in 1 Juicer/Blender. Most of these recipes can be used with either device. Items that do not juice well are soft fruits such as mangos, papaya, apricots, bananas, plums…etc. These items tend to clog the juicing lter and should be used for blending instead.
Cleaning and preparing produce.
Fruits and vegetables are often coated with pesticides. To rid produce of these toxins follow this simple procedure.
• Fill your kitchen sink with cold water.
• Add four tablespoons of sea salt along with the juice of a half of fresh lemon and stir.
• Place your produce in the sink and allow soaking for several minutes.
• Remove stones (plums, peaches, cherries, etc.)
• Remove tough skins (melons, pineapples, oranges, cucumber, etc.)
• Soft-skinned produce should always be washed with water (apples, carrots, radishes,
lettuce, spinach, grapes, strawberries, etc.)
• Cut foods into small pieces to t the food chute (about 1” square).
