SECTION 1 GENERAL INFORMATION
A stored program cont rols the Electra Elite IP K system. When the system i s initially powered up, the CPUI( )-U ( ) ETU scans all interface an d AP slots to determine th e hardware configuration. The system stores this information and the default values in the resid ent s y stem p rog ra m memor y. After init iall y p ower ing u p t he sy s tem, a tr aine d technician can change the resident system program to meet the specific needs of an individual custom er.
SECTION 2 PROGRAMMING THE SYSTEM
The battery on the CPU must be co nnected. When the battery is not connected before programming begins, data may be lost when a power outa ge occurs.
System data programming may be necessary when:
H
the system is installed for the first time.
H
components of an existing system are replaced.
H
functions of an existing system are changed.

2.4 Writing Syst em Data

After turning on power , t he system data can be prog rammed using a Multiline Terminal connected to port 01 or port 02 (the Multiline Terminal must be idle). System programmin g can be performed while other Multil ine Terminals in the system ar e in use. Some data is wri tten into mem ory immedia te l y aft er the programming process, but other data is not written until the stations or trunks are idle. When the data is not written until a station or trunk is idle, the station LCD displays DATA ENTRY, even after programming is complete, to indicate that system data entry is still in progress. When the in-use stations become idle, the data is written and the station LCD displays only the time.
The dat a programmed for applicable Memory Bloc ks is not written for the following conditions:
