INSTALLATION
This Cap is designed to be used on most MSD Pro-Billet Distributors.
Note: The Pro-Cap is supplied with two sets
of rotor screws; two over-molded plastic hex screws and two Phillips head screws. Some MSD distributors will not accept the plastic hex screws due to the position of the magnetic pickup. Before installing the Cap Spacer, install the rotor and check for clearance over the magnetic pickup as shown in Figure 1.
1. If the distributor is in the engine, mark the location of the spark plug wires and remove them. Crank or turn over the engine until the existing rotor tip comes to rest where it is aligned directly with one of the spark plug terminal posts of the cap.

Phillips screws and flat washers. Note that the Cap Spacer is slotted (Figure 2). This provides you with an adjustment for rotor phasing. For additional information on rotor phasing see the supplied Tech Brief.

3. Install the new rotor using the correct rotor screws for your application as outlined in the Note at the beginning of this
O-Ring
procedure. When using the over molded hex head bolts, install the supplied O-rings and belleville washers (dome side up) as shown in Figure 3, and torque to 30-32 in-lbs. If you are using the Phillips screws, use only the belleville washers.

4. Put the Cap in place and ensure correct alignment of the rotor tip and the spark plug terminal (Figure 4). If they do not line up correctly, remove the rotor and adjust the position of the Cap Spacer with its slotted mounting holes.
5. After confirming correct rotor alignment, install the Cap with the four Pan Phillips screws and belleville washers. Install the spark plug wires from the original cap one at a time to ensure the correct firing order.
6. Install the Wire Retainer over the wires and use the supplied four self tapping screws to secure it (Figure 5). Depending on the style spark plug boots being used, the Retainer may not sit all the way flush on the posts of the cap.
