Problem

Service is aware of an issue affecting the CLI display on GSM V180 handsets, shipped during the

months of Jul 2004 through Jan 2005. The failure mode is CLI display crack. (See Pic.1) Analysis has revealed the cracking to be caused by abnormal stresses

Solution

SDC engineering team modified CLI display module design by adding CLI support pad and the new version CLI display assembly P/N is 0103667B02. HZ factory starts build V180 units with new CLI display from Jan 26

2005.

Customer Returns:

When servicing any GSM V180 customer returns with a customer complaint of “CLI display crack” then: 1, Verify the failure symptom. 2, Disassemble the Housing Assembly, Flip assembly and Replace the CLI display using the new part numbers listed above.
