You can listen to music from your favorite CDs on your new Motorola Debut i856. Just load the music onto your computer, and then transfer the music from the computer to your phone.
From a CD – Windows Media Player

Insert the music CD in your computer’s CD
drive and Launch Windows Media Player 11.
Copy the music CD to the media player library

(also called ripping the CD).
Insert a microSD card into your phone and set your

phone to memory card access mode by pressing
Menu > Settings > Connections > USB >
Memory Card Access. Plug your phone into your
computer using an original Motorola USB data cable.
Go to “My Computer.”

Double click on the memory card (removable disk)

and folders will be displayed (MUSIC, VIDEO,
My_Music, etc).
Note: You’ll need an optional
microSD memory card
installed in your phone to use
the music player.
Note: Before you copy files
to your phone, make sure
the files are in a format that
the phone recognizes. Your
phone’s music player can play
the following types of audio
files: AAC, AAC+, MP3, WAV,
WMA, Real Audio G2/8/10.

Have music already loaded on a memory card or your computer?
You can load it onto your phone in a few simple steps.
Insert the memory card (removable disk)

into your Motorola Debut i856 phone, then
turn it on.
Now change your connection settings

to memory card access. Press Menu >
Settings > Connections > USB >
Memory Card Access.
On your computer, double click the

My Computer icon, and then the
Removable Disk icon.
You will see a variety of folders, double

click the My_Music icon.
Copy all of the music files from this

folder and paste them into the MUSIC
folder icon.

Launch music player
When you insert a microSD card for the first time, your phone will give you four options. Select option
2, “Go to My Music” to start the music player. In the music player press the Menu key and select
“Reload Music” to add the songs to your music library.
To activate your phone’s music player,

press the music player key.
Scroll to choose how you want

your music played (Songs, Playlists,
Albums, etc.).
To play the first music file in the folder,
press under Play. (If the selected
folder contains subfolders, this plays
the first music file in the first of the
subfolders.)
Press to view the folder’s

contents. Scroll to a music file and
press under Play or to play
the first music file in it.
Tip: The Songs folder contains
all the music files on the
memory card in a single list.

Changing a playlist is as easy as changing your mind. You can remove some or all songs while
creating or editing a playlist.

you want to remove.
Press > Remove Song
