Problem
Service has been made aware of a problem in C33x GSM units with software version
06.04.2AR or later, and all software versions of C350. It has been reported that locked phones in where the customer has modified both the lock and security codes from default of “1234” and “000000” or carrier sets consequently; will not communicate with software tools such as: PST, Motofunctional, RadioComm, GP Gate and other similar applications when using Windows 2000/XP OS. Since the phone can not communicate with described tools, the phone’s lock and security codes can not be read.
Solution
Customer locked phones with described software versions, in where the lock and security codes are unknown will need to be unlocked using keypad sequences or read using PST on Windows NT.
Field Service Action Customer Returns:
When servicing any C33x/C350 customers locked phones with described software versions, the first step is to attempt to unlock the phones using the following procedures:
Unlock procedures:
A. If the security code is known follow this procedure.
1. Turn ON the phone
2. When ask to enter Lock Code press “MENU”
3. Enter the six digit security code (Default code “000000” or look up carrier code)
4. Press OK The phone will unlock if the six digit security code was not changed.
If the phone unlocks, process returns as normal.
B. If the security code is unknown follow this manual test mode procedure.

2. Enter *#06# (IMEI will be displayed)

3. Enter <MENU> followed by 048263* (the sequence must be entered quickly when the IMEI displayed on the screen, sometimes you have to try several times.) This should bring up a screen with the word Opcode in the top left hand corner. The radio is now in test mode
4. Enter 18*0 or 18*1
5. Press OK (Initialize Non Volatile Memory, Master Reset/ Clear) The lock setting will be set off, but Unlock Code and Security Code are not changed.
If the phone unlocks, process returns as normal. Note: Carrier Flex will determine if manual test mode is accessible.
C. If the manual test mode procedure did not work, perform the following procedure utilizing PST 5.8.1 on a Windows NT PC.
1. Turn ON the phone
2. Establish a USB connection in PST (Phone programmer)
3. Open a new “User Data File”
4. Read user data from the phone The phone lock and security codes will be display, so the phone can be unlocked.
