USER MANUAL
Welcome to the EZ HOLD. The EZ HOLD is a small solid state unit, which contains up to 8 minutes of digital audio recording contained in removable Plug­in Modules. The unit DOES NOT require batteries to retain the recorded voice or music.
This unit is attached to the External Music input of any PBX.
The Plug-in modules come in two versions:
1. Custom ( Charges apply – consult supplier )
2. Generic ( Sent along with Unit )
The Generic module is supplied with a default greeting message & music recorded into it. The user may however, record his own Music and or message into the Generic module by plugging a standard telephone handset & speaking into the EZ HOLD. Music can also be input simultaneously through a

separate input, while the voice recording is being done so as to get background Music.
The Custom module is supplied with a custom message or music recorded into it and the user
CANNOT re-record this module.
Installation :
Unpack the unit from its shipping carton and check that all the materials have been received in good condition. Any damages or shortfalls must be reported immediately to the distributor from whom the purchase was made.
Your EZ HOLD shipping carton must contain the following:

Select a suitable location for the EZ HOLD to be
placed - it may be wall mounted or kept on the
tabletop. A suitable location is one, which is close to your PBX and a power socket & should
be easily accessible for any service or maintenance work.
BEFORE CONNECTING THE POWER TO THE
UNIT, insert the Plug-in Voice Module into the EZ HOLD
Plug in the Wall Power adapter into the Power
socket and insert the other end into the Power input connector on the EZ HOLD. Switch on the power to the unit. The Power L.E.D on the EZ HOLD will start blinking.
You are now ready to do the Functional check of the EZ HOLD & put it into operation.

FUNCTIONAL CHECK
Insert a standard telephone handset into the
handset socket provided on the EZ HOLD and the default music / message (or Custom music /
message) will be heard through the handset.
Next connect the music output of the EZ HOLD
to the external music on hold input of your PBX.
(Refer to PBX Manual for type of connection to phone system).
Place a call to your phone system and put
yourself on hold. The music / message should come clearly on the line. If necessary, adjust the volume of the EZ HOLD, which is located on the bottom side the unit.
THE EZ HOLD SHOULD NOW BE OPERATING CORRECTLY. SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS, CALL THE DISTRIBUTOR FROM WHOM THE UNIT WAS PURCHASED.

To record your own message or music into the
unit (only with generic modules) : Use the Music input provided or Handset input or both to record in your message / music. To go into recording mode press the REC button and hold it until the
record LED is SOLID. The unit will now begin to record. When the recording is over press the
Record button this point the recording LED will extinguish.
THE RECORDING SHOULD COMMENCE AS
SOON AS THE REC LED BECOMES SOLID.
THE DEFAULT GREETING ONCE RECORDED
OVER, CANNOT BE RETRIEVED.
IF A CUSTOM VOICE MODULE HAS BEEN
INSTALLED IN YOUR UNIT, THE REC LED WILL GLOW BRIEFLY AND GO OFF. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO RECORD OVER ON A CUSTOM MODULE.

To operate the EZ HOLD in trigger mode,
connect the trigger output of the EZ HOLD to the trigger input of your PBX. (Refer to phone system manual for this operation). In this mode the EZ HOLD will start the message / music from the beginning of the recording.
TO ADJUST THE OUTPUT VOLUME, PUT
YOURSELF ON HOLD & THEN ADJUST THE LEVEL WHILE LISTENING TO THE MESSAGE.
ADJUSTING THE OUTPUT LEVEL BY LISTENING THROUGH THE HANDSET SOCKET PROVIDED ON THE UNIT IS NOT RECOMMENDED.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE VOICE MODULE OF M2060, EZM480 ARE NOT INTERCHANGABLE

WARRANTY SUMMARY
EZ HOLD
EZ Advantage warrants that the products that it manufactures and sells, will be free from defects in materials and workmanship, for a period of 1 year from date of shipment from the factory.
If the product proves defective within the Warranty period, EZ Advantage will repair or replace the unit, free of cost.
