m71i loudspeaker
You might think that Mission’s m71 is a hard act to follow. Winner of a What Hi-Fi? Best Loudspeaker under £150 award, and awarded the prestigious Diapason D’Or in France, m71 had to be the budget speaker to beat. Yet Mission have taken the m71 and simply made it better.
For Mission’s new m71i the ‘i’ stands for ‘improved’. Improved cabinet, improved crossover, improved performance. Cabinet bracing has been revised to improve panel stiffness and reduce coloration, whilst crossover redesign has resulted in improved bass performance, increased midrange dynamics and smoother treble detail.
The Mission m71i is a compact loudspeaker suitable for stand or shelf mounting. Exhibiting a lively and highly detailed mid-band, the m71i matches this to an astonishing low frequency performance seldom found in a compact enclosure.
The m71i will find favour with listeners who have limited space but are not prepared to sacrifice low frequency dynamics or musical enjoyment.
The combination of good bass reproduction, detailed transparent mid-band and silky-smooth treble output is rare in small affordable speakers, making the m71i an outstanding speaker for music reproduction of the front channels in a compact home theatre installation.
