IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS:
When using an electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following.
•Read the instruction manual before using this cof­fee maker.
•This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervi­sion or instruction concerning the use of the appli­ance by a person responsible for their safety.
•Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
•Do not touch the coffee maker’s hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
•To protect against electric shock, do not immerse the power cord, plug or the coffee maker in water or any other liquids.
•Turn the coffee maker off and unplug the power cord from the wall socket when the coffee maker is not in use and before cleaning.
•Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examina­tion, repair or adjustment.
•The use of accessory attachments not recommend­ed by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
•Do not use the appliance outdoors.
•Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a
table or counter or touch any hot surfaces.
•Do not place this appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
•Do not use the coffee maker for other reasons than its intended use.
•The carafe is designed for use with this appliance, do not use it for other purpose.
•Do not place hot carafe on a cold surface.
•The appliance is for household use only, not for
commercial use.
•The appliance must not be immersed in fluids.
Before using first use:
Before making coffee you should use the coffee mak­er once with water only(without coffee or filter paper).
1. Insert the plug into the wall socket.
2. Fill the jug with cold water, open up the lid, and pour the water from the jug into the water tank, then close lid to its original position.
3. Place glass jug in its original position.
4. Note that the lid should be fitted securely.
5. Start the brewing process by pressing the “on/off” button
Program instructions
Setting the clock:
•Setting the time is not compulsory for using the ap-
pliance.
•When plugging in the appliance, the LCD display
indicates “12:00”.
•Press the “prog” key once. The LCD display will
shows a flashing “clock” in the top right corner. Now you can set the current time.
•Press the “Hour” key to set the hour.
•Press the “Min” key to set the minutes.
•After setting the time, press the “prog” key again.
The “clock” will stop flashing
To make coffee:
1. Open the lid of the coffee maker and fill with as much water as cups of coffee you require.
2. Ensure that the water level does not exceed the MAX mark inside the water tank..
3. The water level display on the glass jug indicates the number of cups.
4. Place the filter into the filter holder. Put ground cof­fee into the filter according to your taste.
5. Close the coffee maker lid.

6. Ensure that the carafe is securely placed in it’s original position.
7. Plug in the coffee maker. The red indicator light will come on.
8. After the brewing process the coffee maker has a 2 hour keep warm function, after which the appliance will switch off automatically.
9. If the glass jar is empty or the keep warm function is not required, turn the appliance off by pressing the”on/off” button again.
Auto-Brew:
•When plugging in the appliance, the LCD display
indicates “12:00”.
•Press the “prog” key once. The LCD display will
show “clock” flashing in the top right corner.
•Press the “prog” key once more, The LCD display
will show “timer” flashing in the top left corner.
•Press the “Hour” key to set the hour.
•Press the “Min” key to set minutes.
•After setting the time, press the “prog” key within
8 seconds to validate the time setting. The green indicator light will be on until it has reached the pro­grammed brew time. Once the programmed brew time is reached the green light will go out and the red light will come on.
Cleaning for external parts of coffee maker
1. Be sure to unplug the plug from wall socket before cleaning.
2. Wait for the appliance cool down before cleaning.
3. The appliance should be cleaned with a soft cloth with mild soap and wiped dry.
4. Never immerse the appliance in water or any other fluid.
De-scaling
To ensure a long lifespan of the coffee maker, you will need to de-scale it from time to time. Frequency will depend on how hard the water is in your area, and how often you use the coffee maker. If you use your coffee maker once or twice a day, the following guide­lines for de-scaling should be used:
•Soft water, every 6 months.
•Medium water, every 2-3 months.
•Hard water, every 6-8 weeks.
If the time it takes to brew a cup of coffee is suddenly increased, it is recommended that the coffee maker be de-scaled. The harder the water is in your area, the more often the coffee maker needs to be de-scaled. The hardness of the water can be advised at your lo­cal waterworks.
Environmental tip
An electronic appliance should, when it is no longer capable of functioning be disposed with least possi­ble environmental damage. The appliance should be disposed according to the local regulations of your municipality. In most cases you can discharge the ap­pliance at your local recycling center.
Caution
•The supply voltage from the wall socket must cor­respond with the voltage stated on the rating label at the bottom of the appliance.
•Use only cold water to fill the water tank!
•Ensure the glass jug is placed properly in its posi-
tion when brewing coffee.
•Between the brewing processes switch off the appli­ance and let it cool down for about 5 minutes. Then refill with cold water.
•After the brewing process, always switch off the ap­pliance.
•Disconnect the appliance before cleaning.
•Keep the appliance out of reach of children.
•To switch off the appliance use the on/off switch.
•The control lamp going out indicates when the ma-
chine is off.
Other
•The appliance must only be used for purposes as laid out by this instruction manual.
•The supplier will not be held liable for damages caused by improper use of the appliance.
•Only an authorized repair agent may carry out re­pairs on this appliance. Any attempts to repair the appliance without using an authorized repair agent will negate the guarantee.
•In order to locate the authorized repair agent in your area, please consult the supplier.
