Dear parents

Congratulations on the purchase of your Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System.

Safety, comfort and user friendliness have played an important role in the development of the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side
Protection System. This product meets the most stringent safety regulations.

Research shows that a high number of car safety seats are incorrectly installed. Therefore, please take the time to read
through the instruction manual carefully. The Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System offers maximum safety only
when it is used in accordance with the instructions. Always use the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System with the
backrest at all times.

Continuous research by our development team, user tests and consumer reactions ensure that we are kept fully up to
date in the field of child safety. If you have any questions concerning the use of your Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection
System, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Important

• Make yourself familiar with these instructions and look carefully at the illustrations in the manual before using

the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System.

• The Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System is approved to meet the latest European safety regulations

(ECE R44/04) and is suitable for children from 15-36 kg (approx. 3 1/2 to 12 years old and up to a maximum
height of 1.50 metres).

• The Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System may be used on the front or rear passenger seat. We recommend

that you place the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System on the rear seat in the car.

• Do NOT use a child safety seat if the vehicle is equipped with a front airbag. This can be dangerous. This does

not apply to so-called side airbags.

• When using the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System on the front passenger seat, the car seat must ALWAYS

be placed in its most UPRIGHT POSITION.

• The Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System must only be used on a forward facing seat fitted with an automatic

or static 3-point seat belt which is approved according to ECE Regulation No. 16 or an equivalent standard. DO
NOT use a 2-point seat belt, as this could be dangerous in the event of an accident or emergency stop.

• The Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System must not be used without the cover. The seat cover should not be

replaced with any cover other than the one supplied by the manufacturer, as the cover constitutes an integral
part of the restraint performance.

• Do not remove the foam parts of the headrest.

• No alterations may be made to the seat as this could affect part or the overall safety of the seat.

• After an accident the seat may be damaged and should be replaced.

• The manufacturer only guarantees the seat when used by the original owner.

• We strongly advise you not to use a second-hand product as you are never sure if the seat has been involved in

an accident or whether it has been otherwise damaged.

• The seat must always be secured with a seat belt, even when not in use. An unsecured seat may wound other

passengers in the car in the event of an accident or emergency stop.

• Ensure that all luggage and objects likely to cause injury in the event of an accident are properly secured.

• Adults not wearing seat belts can also be dangerous to a child in a car seat.

• Always check that the belt is pulled tight and any slack in the belt removed.

• Ensure that the seat is not damaged by wedging it between or underneath heavy luggage, adjustable seats or by

slamming the car door.

• The Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System may only be used as a child’s safety seat and is not intended for use

in-house.

Tips

• In hot weather the plastic parts may become hot to the touch. Cover the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System
when the car is parked in the sun.

• For future use it is important that the instruction manual is kept with the seat at all times. Please store it in the space
provided underneath the seat.

• To avoid damage to the cover do not remove the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System logo.

• Always use the seat, even on short journeys, as this is when most accidents occur.

• REMOVE the headrest of the passenger seat being used if it causes an obstruction for proper installation of the Maxi­Cosi Rodi Side Protection System, but do not forget to refit the headrest after use.

• Before purchasing the seat we recommend you check that it is compatible for use with the seat belt system in your car.

• NEVER leave your child unattended in the car.

• Set a good example yourself and always wear your seat belt.

• Tell your child that he/she must never play with the belt buckle.

• During long journeys make the occasional stop to allow your child to stretch his/her limbs.

Using the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System in the car

The Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System consists of two parts: a booster seat and a detachable backrest.
Always use the booster seat with the backrest.

We recommend that your child should only use the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System when he/she weighs at
least 15 kg and is tall enough for the belt to fit correctly over the shoulder (and not press against the neck).

The belt routing areas are marked in red. You will see a red mark under the armrests of the booster seat and red belt
hooks on the headrest.

Fitting the backrest is very simple and is explained in the following section.

IMPORTANT: When using the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System on the front passenger seat, the car seat must
ALWAYS be placed in its most UPRIGHT POSITION. Remove the headrest of the passenger seat if it is in the way

when the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System is placed in the car. Do not forget to replace the headrest when the

passenger seat is in use again.

Fitting the backrest (A)

• Fold the U-shaped flaps on the rear of the booster seat double and tuck them under the cover, ensuring that the
openings in the cover are kept unrestricted.

• Insert the hooks of the backrest in the openings (1). Make sure that the cover does not get caught between the
moving parts of the seat.

• Raise the backrest until you feel some resistance and hear a slight click engaging the backrest (B-2). Raise the
backrest further until the side lumbar supports come into contact with the armrests.

Removing the backrest

• Push the backrest downwards until you feel some resistance. Gently push the backrest further until it lies flat.
Remove the backrest by carefully lifting the hooks out of the openings in the booster seat.

Adjusting the height of the headrest (B)

• Hold the headrest with one hand at the top. Use the other hand to operate the adjuster.

• Pull the headrest up until you feel some resistance (1).

• Tilt the adjuster on the rear of the backrest slightly upwards (2).

• When the required height is reached, release the adjuster and click in the selected position.
There are 6 positions.

• Push the headrest carefully down until it stops, so that it locks.

To ensure the correct headrest height is obtained, the red belt hooks should be located slightly above the shoulders of
your child. Make sure that the shoulder belt is positioned correctly over the shoulder of the child and does not press
against the child’s neck. The headrest must be adjusted so that the shoulder belt runs in a straight line towards the
belt anchorage point. If the seat belt height is adjustable, adjust the height so that the belt runs in a straight line
through the belt hooks of the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System headrest.

Installing the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System (C/D)

Position the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System with its backrest firmly against the backrest of the car seat (C).
Make sure that the seat is not placed on the belt buckle. Sit your child on the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System
(D) with his/her back against the backrest.

Put the seat belt around the child. Thread the lap belt under both armrests (D-1). If fitted correctly, the belt passes
over the red marking on the seat. Insert the buckle tongue in the belt buckle (D-2) and pull the lap belt tight. Thread
the shoulder belt under the armrest and then through the red belt hook on the headrest (D-3). Make sure that the belt
is not twisted and is positioned correctly over your child’s shoulder. Pull the shoulder belt tight.

When getting out of the seat, simply release the belt buckle and put the belt to one side. The shoulder belt then
remains positioned in the red belt hook. It is then easy to fit the belt again from this position. Make sure the seat belt
is also fastened when the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System is not in use.

Maintenance

• The seat may be cleaned with warm water and a gentle soap. Do not use abrasive detergents.

• The cover must be washed by hand at a maximum temperature of 30
washing instructions).

• It is advisable to buy an extra cover when purchasing the Maxi Cosi Rodi Side Protection System, enabling the seat
to be used at all times (also when the cover is being washed).

Removing the cover (E/J)

• Take the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System out of the car.

• Remove the backrest and headrest as instructed in ’Removing the headrest’.

Booster seat (E/F)

• Unhook the cover from the pins underneath the booster seat (E).

• Pull the cover over the armrests towards you (F). The cover is now completely loose.

Backrest (G/H)

• Unhook the cover from the pins on the rear of the backrest (G).

• Pull the cover over the lumbar supports (H). The cover is now completely loose.

Headrest (I/J)

• Unhook the cover from the pins on the rear of the headrest (I).

• Pull the cover over the headrest (J). Make sure that the foam parts remain in position.

• Loosen the elastic strap over the headrest. The cover is now loose.
The cover can be refitted using the above instructions in the reverse order. Make sure that the cover is properly
secured on the pins and that the belt hooks on the headrest are not obstructed to allow the shoulder belt to pass
through freely.

Note

• The tighter the belts fit on the child, the better your child is protected.

• Ensure the belts are never twisted.

• The seat belt should lie flat and tight over the body.

• The shoulder belt should not press into the neck, but should go over the shoulder (D-3).

• The lap belt should not press into the stomach, but should go over the upper leg.

• Should you have difficulty closing the car seat belt or pulling it tight, please contact your supplier immediately. In any
case do not use the product.

• Check that you have secured the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System in the seat belt correctly.

• Check that the car safety belt is tight and secure around the child and the shoulder belt is at the correct height (D-3).

• Secure the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System with the seat belt, even when not in use. Any loose objects may
be a danger to other passengers.

• If you have any questions please contact your supplier and ensure you have the following details to hand:

- the last number on the orange label (serial number) on the rear of the seat

- make and type of vehicle and on which seat in the vehicle the Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System is used

- age and weight of your child.

Warranty

We guarantee that this product was manufactured in accordance with the current European safety requirements and
quality standards which are applicable to this product, and that this product is free from defects in workmanship and
material at the time of purchase. During the production process the product was subjected to various quality checks. If
this product, despite our efforts, shows a material/manufacturing fault within the warranty period of 24 months, (with
normal use as described in the user instructions) we will comply with the warranty terms and conditions. In this case
please contact your dealer. For extensive information on applying the warranty terms and conditions, you can contact

The warranty is not valid in the following cases:

• In case of a use or purpose other than described in the manual.

• If the product is submitted for repair through a dealer that is not authorized by us.

• If the product is not supplied to the manufacturer with the original purchase receipt (via the retailer and/or importer).

• If repairs were carried out by third parties or a dealer that is not authorized by us.

• If the defect is the result of improper or careless use or maintenance, negligence or impact damage to the fabric
cover and/or frame.

• If the parts show normal wear and tear that may be expected from daily use of a product (wheels, rotating and
moving parts etc.)

Date of effect:

The warranty becomes effective on the date the product is purchased.

Warranty term:

The warranty period applies for a period of 24 consecutive months. The warranty only applies for the first owner and
is not transferable.

What to do in case of defects:

After purchasing the product, keep the purchase receipt. The date of purchase must be clearly visible on the receipt.
Should problems or defects arise please contact your retailer. Exchanging or taking back the product cannot be
requested. Repairs do not give entitlement to extension of the warranty. Products that are returned directly to the
manufacturer are not eligible for warranty.

Flere undersøgelser har vist, at mange sikkerhedssæder til biler bruges forkert. Giv dig derfor tid til at læse denne
brugsanvisning grundigt igennem. Kun således er dit barn optimalt beskyttet. Anvend altid rygstøtten i sammen med
Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection.

• Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System opfylder de strengeste europæiske sikkerhedsstandarder (ECE R44/04)

og den er velegnet til børn fra 15-36 kg (ca. 3 1/2 til 12 år og op til en maksimal højde på 1,50 m).

• Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System kan anvendes på forsædet og bagsædet. Vi anbefaler, at sædet

anbringes på bagsædet.

• Anvend IKKE autostolen på et sæde, hvor der er airbag. Det er farligt!

• Når Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System anvendes på passagersædet, skal bilsædet ALTID være placeret i

den MEST OPRETSTÅENDE POSITION.

• Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System må kun bruges på et fremadrettet bilsæde, med en automatisk eller
statisk 3-punktssele såfremt denne opfylder ECE 16 eller en tilsvarende standard. Brug under ingen
omstædigheder en automatisk 2-puntktssele, da det kan være farligt i tilfælde af et uheld eller nødstop.

• Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System må ikke bruges uden betræk. Betrækket må ikke udskiftes med et andet
betræk end det, der er leveret af fabrikanten, da betrækket bidrager til sædets sikkerhed.

• Skumdelene i hovedstøtten må ikke fjernes.

• Der må ikke foretages ændringer af sædets. Disse kan nemlig medføre, at sikkerhed en helt eller delvis går tabt.

• Efter et biluheld kan sædet have taget skade. Og det bør derfor udskiftes.

• Fabrikanten kan kun garantere for sædets sikkerhed, når det bruges af den første ejer.

• Vi må indtrængende fraråde, at der bruges brugte produkter, fordi man ikke kan vide, om sædet har været

involveret i et uheld, eller om det på anden måde er blevet beskadiget.

• Sædet skal altid fastgøres med en sikkerhedssele, også selv om det ikke bruges. Hvis det ikke er fastgjort, kan
det beskadige andre passagerer i bilen i tilfælde af et uheld eller et nødstop.

• Sørg for foravarlig fastgjøring af bagage og andre objekter, der kan forårsage skader på barnet i tilfælde af et
uheld eller nødstop.

• Voksne, der ikke bruger sikkerhedssele, kan også være til fare for barnet i bilsædet.

• Check altid, at sikkerhedsselen er godt fastspændt og ikke er slap.

• Sørg for, at sædet ikke bliver klemt eller belastet med tung bagage, indstillelige sæder eller døre, der smækkes i.

• Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System må kun bruges som sikkerhedssæde til børn. Den er ikke beregnet til

brug som stol i huset.

Tips

• I sommervejr kan plastdelene delene på Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System føles varme. Det er derfor bedst at
tildække sædet, når bilen står parkeret i solen.

• Det er vigtigt for den fremtidige brug af sædet, at brugsanvisningen opbevares i det lille rum bag på Maxi-Cosi Rodi
Side Protection System.

• Fjern ikke Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System-logoet på betrækket, da betrækket derved kan beskadiges.

• Brug altid sædet, også på korte ture, da det er på dem de fleste ulykker sker.

• Hvis det letter installationen af Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System kan nakkestøtten på passagersædet FJERNES,
men husk at påmontere den igen.

• Prøv om sædet passer godt til sikkerhedsselerne i din bil, før du køber.

• EFTERLAD aldrig dit barn alene i bilen.

• Vis et godt eksempel og brug altid selv din sikkerhedssele.

• Fortæl dit barn, at det ikke må lege med selelåsen.

• Hold pauser under længere køreture for at give barnet lidt bevægelsesfrihed.

Brug af Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System i bilen

Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System består af to dele, en sædepude og en aftagelig rygstøtte. Anvend altid
selepuden sammen med rygstøtten.

Vi anbefaler, at Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System kun bruges, hvis barnet vejer mere end 15 kg, og er høj nok til
at sikkerhedsselerne kan monteres korrekt over barnets skulder og ikke trykker mod halsen.

De steder hvor sikkerhedsselen skal gå igennem er markeret med rødt. Under selepudens armlæn vil du kunne finde
en rød markering og på nakkestøtten røde selekroge.

Tilpasning af nakkestøtten er meget simpel og er forklaret i følgende sektion.

Brugsanvisning

VIGTIGT: Når man bruger Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System på forsædet, skal bilsædet ALTID være anbragt i den
MEST LODRETTE position. Fjern nakkestøtten fra passagersædet, hvis den er i vejen, når Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side

Protection System er anbragt i bilen. Glem ikke at sætte nakkestøtten tilbage, når passagersædet er i brug igen.

Tilpasning af rygstøtten (A)

• Fold de U-formede ører på bagsiden af selepuden dobbelt og placér dem under betrækket. Åbningerne må ikke være
tildækket.

• Sæt krogene fra rygstøtten i åbningerne (1). Vær'sikker på, at betrækket ikke kommer i klemme mellem de
bevægelige dele i sædet.

• Hæv rygstøtten indtil modstand føles og et svagt klik høres (B-2). Hæv rygstøtten mere indtil
sidestøtterne til lænden rører.

Fjernelse af rygstøtten

• Pres rygstøtten frem indtil du mærker modstand. Pres forsigtigt rygstøtten mere frem indtil den ligger helt fladt.
Rygstøtten fjernes forsigtigt ved at løfte krogene ud af åbningerne i selepuden.

Tilpasning af højden på nakkestøtten (B)

• Hold nakkestøtten med én hånd. Med den anden hånd betjenes sædeindstillingen.

• Træk nakkestøtten op, indtil du mærker modstand (1).

• Vip sædeindstillingen på bagsiden af rygstøtten en smule opad (2).

• Når den ønskede højde er nået, løsnes sædeindstillingen, og nakkestøtten klikkes fast i den valgte position.
Der er 6 positioner.

For at være sikker på, at den korrekte nakkestøtte højde er opnået, skal den røde selekrog være placeret en smule over
barnets skulder. Vær'sikker på at selen er placeret i den korrekte position i forhold til barnets skulder, og ikke presser
mod barnets hals. Hovedstøtten justeres således at sikkerhedsselen sidder i en lige, stram linie mod selelåsen. Hvis
sikkerhedsselens højde kan justeres, justeres højden sådan, at selen løber i en lige linje gennem
selekrogene på Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System ens nakkestøtte.

Indsættelse af Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System (C/D)

Anbring Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System med rygstøtten forsigtig opad ryglænet på bilsædet (C).
Vær'sikker på at sædet ikke er placeret på selespændet. Placér dit barn i Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System (D)
med ryggen op mod ryglænet.

DA

Spænd sikkerhedsselen over barnet. Træk hofteselen under begge armlæn (D-1). Hvis selen er korrekt monteret, vil
selen røre de røde markeringer på sædet. Placér seletungen i selelåsen (D-2) og stram hofteselen til. Træk skulderselen
under armlænet og så igennem den røde selekrog på nakkestøtten (D-3). Vær'sikker på, at selen ikke er snoet. Stram
skulderselen.

Når barnet skal frigøres fra sædet, skal selelåsen blot løsnes og lægges til siden. Skulderselen bliver således stadig i
den røde selekrog. Vær'sikker på at sikkerhedsselen også er fastspændt, når Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System
ikke er i brug.

Vedligeholdelse

• Sædet kan gøres rent med lunkent vand og sæbe. Brug ikke ætsende midler.

• Betrækket skal vaskes i hånden ved en temperatur på maks. 30
vaskeanvisningerne)

• Det tilrådes allerede ved anskaffelsen af Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System, at købe et ekstra betræk, så man
også kan bruge Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System, når betrækket skal vaskes (eller tørres).

• Tag Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System ud af bilen.

• Fjern rygstøtten og nakkestøtten som tidligere instrueret (’Fjernelse af rygstøtten’).

Selepude (E/F)

• Løsn betrækket fra de stifter der er placeret under selepuden (E).

DA

• Træk betrækket over armlænene mod dig selv (F). Betrækket er nu helt løst.

Ryglæn (G/H)

• Løsn betrækket fra de stifter der er placeret på bagsiden af rygstøtten (G).

• Træk betrækket over lændestøtten (H). Betrækket er nu helt løst.

Nakkestøtte (I/J)

• Løsn betrækket fra de stifter der er placeret på bagsiden af nakkestøtten (I).

• Træk betrækket over nakkestøtten (J), vær'sikker på at skumgummidelene bliver i samme position.

• Løsn den elastiske rem over nakkestøtten. Betrækket er nu løst. Betrækket kan sættes på igen med samme
instruktion, blot i omvendt rækkefølge. Sørg for, at betrækket sidder rigtigt på stifterne, og at det ikke sidder i vejen
ved selekrogene på nakkestøtten, så skulderselen kan komme på plads.

Pas på

• Jo strammere selen er på barnet, jo bedre er det i forhold til barnets sikkerhed.

• Vær'altid sikker på, at selen ikke er snoet.

• Sikkerhedsselen skal ligge fladt og tæt til barnets krop.

• Skulderselen må ikke presse mod barnets hals men skal ligge over barnets skulder (D-3).

• Hofteselen må ikke presse for stramt mod barnets mave, men skal gå over den øverste del af barnets ben.

• Henvend dig straks til forhandleren, hvis det ikke lykkes at lukke sikkerhedsselen rigtigt eller at stramme den. Brug
under ingen omstændigheder produktet.

Checkliste

• Vigtigt: Læs denne checkliste igennem, inden påbegyndelse af turen.

• Check at Maxi-Cosi Rodi Side Protection System er korrekt monteret i sikkerhedsselen.
