FROM THE CHAIRMAN

I would like to thank you personally for selecting one of our new Marshall JCM 900 valve amplifiers. For over three decades my company has been dedicated to the design and manufacture of the finest amplification systems in the world.

By “listening” to guitarists from all over the world we know that their needs are constantly changing, demanding more from their amplification.

The only way to cope with these new demands is to invest into the research & development of new models capable of fulfilling their ever more extreme requirements. This investment has led to remarkable innovation within our product ranges over the years.

Our latest development of the Master Volume amplifier, the JCM 900 MK-4 SL-X, uses an extra valve in the pre-amp to offer more gain and tone than we thought possible just a short time ago.

In all the JCM 900 models there are degrees of innovation to give extra high gain, wider tone control and greater connection flexibility to provide you with the widest possible sound variations.

In addition the incorporation of new circuitry and the unique “output valve protection circuit” has increased the renowned Marshall reliability even further.

Our investment into innovation will ensure that these valve powered JCM 900 Master Volume SL-X and Dual Reverb models will proudly continue the Marshall legend throughout the next decade.

I wish you great success with your new amplifier.

INTRODUCTION

Marshall have specialised in the production of valve amplification since 1962.

The unique tone and playing response of the valve has formed the cornerstone of the Marshall “Sound of Rock”, which we have modified over the years to cope with the changing demands of the evolving guitar player. The JCM 900 models split into two distinct product ranges, the Master Volume SL-X and the Dual Reverb. Though they share common ancestry and have similar rear panel functions their applications are quite different.
