Mobile material handling machines
Scrap handling means tough demands on the material handling machine. The latest generation of Liebherr material handlers acknowledge this and with their robust design demonstrate the best possible stability and at the same time high durability. A scrap yard requires many different and varied applications, which in turn require a modern material handling machine. The new Liebherr material handlers, with their vast range of attachment combinations, grapples and quick change systems, are the right solution for every application in the field of scrap recycling. Whether the task is feeding, loading or sorting
- the Liebherr handling machines impress all round.
Crawler material handling machines
Wheeled machines are less suitable in scrap yards where the emphasis is less on mobility or where the ground is generally unpaved. The new generation of Liebherr handlers with a crawler undercarriage is now available for these customers. The crawler material handling
machines are ideal for operations in which the machine
is not moved very much and where the load-bearing
capacity of the ground is a limiting factor. The newly
developed undercarriages offer good stability and
a long reach. Even without moving the machine,
large quantities of materials can be handled
within a very short space of time. Liebherr material handling machines thus represent a noticeable increase in handling capacity and productivity.
Electric material handling machines
Electrically powered material handling machines are becoming more important. Regardless of whether the task at hand is indoors, at the harbour or on a scrap yard, Liebherr has an extensive product range that is substantially more economical than comparable dieselpowered machines when it comes to operating and maintenance costs. The refined electric drive system and the reliability of the hydraulic components reduce the machine's maintenance costs to a minimum. An important purchasing criterion in overcrowded areas is noise emissions. Liebherr electric machines are 4 to 5 dB lower than the same machine with a diesel engine. Lower noise emissions also means more environmental protection and greater driving comfort.

Performance
In the field of scrap handling, performance is extremely important. Liebherr material handling machines have been developed for maximum productivity. High lift capacity and fast work cycles are the essential prerequisites for efficient handling operations. The optimum interplay between the hydraulics and electronics guarantee powerful, fast movements during handling and at the same time make it possible to work sensitively and precisely on challenging sorting tasks.
Reliability
Liebherr material handlers guarantee the necessary stability and with their robust and durable construction ensure smooth operations right across the scrap metal industry. Diesel engine, hydraulic components, electronics components, slewing ring, swivel drive and steel construction: developed, tested and produced by Liebherr - in the accustomed high quality for a long service life and maximum machine availability.
automatic central lubrication systems for the machine and its attachments provide the necessary comfort for the driver to concentrate on what is important – the handling capacity.
Economy
The new generation of material handling machines are powerful and efficient. Liebherr achieves this difficult balancing act with its own engine technology manufactured in-house and optimised to meet the requirements of controlled hydraulics. With the innovative Liebherr energy recovery system, a sta ndard feature on the LH 40 and above, fuel consumption is reduced by up to 30 percent and the handling capacity of the machine is boosted by faster, more homogeneous work cycles. The service-orientated construction of the machine guarantees short maintenance periods and minimises the associated maintenance costs thanks to the shorter servicing.
Comfort
The newly developed Liebherr cab gives the operator the necessary space and comfort to make the best possible use of his machine's capability. The ergonomically designed operator's workplace also features the best possible all-round view. In addition, ergonomic ladder systems, different cab elevations and

Electric material handling machinesElectric material handling machines
Performance
The new electric-powered materials handling machines have been specially developed to satisfy the particular requirements of industrial materials handling. A broad range of equipment and uppercarriages optimised for long reaches makes it possible to cater for all waste and cargo handling requirements. With all of its major components manufactured in-house and combined with the power of an electric motor, the drive train output maximises the machine's performance in terms of lift capacity, precision and work pace. The scope of this high-performing equipment is enhanced considerably by the track-fitted undercarriage.
Reliability
With more than 30 years of experience in the construction of electric material handling machines, Liebherr has developed a product range that satisfies all requirements of the market. All of the important components of the electric drive system have been integrated in the existing exterior dimensions of the uppercarriage. Liebherr electric material handling machines offer a high level of reliability so that they can consistently fulfill their key functions when deployed to industrial areas. The durability of the hydraulic components is prolonged further by the refined electric drive. The drive concept, with just one electric motor, ensures that the high voltage is limited to the range of the switch cabinet and drive system while the low voltage functions are separated into their own terminal box.

Comfort
To allow the operator to concentrate on his/her work and to utilise the machine's maximum performance, all electric
material handling machines feature an ergonomically
designed driver's cab with a high level of comfort
and good all-round vision. Liebherr electric
material handling machines offer the same
level of comfort as conventionally-
powered material handling machines
(construction of control elements,
operator's seat, climate control,
large glazed surfaces, etc.).
Thanks to low noise
generation and the
elimination of
vibrations, the electric drive system provides greater comfort. For Liebherr, comfort also means easy access to service and inspection points for the everyday servicing of the machine, keeping non-productive times to a minimum.
Economy
Investing in an electric material handling concept pays in the long term. The ever increasing cost of conventional energy is a burden on operating costs and substantially reduces profit margins. Environmental factors and CO

emissions in particular are increasingly important when choosing engines/motors and working methods. With the electric drive system, Liebherr offers an economically interesting alternative to conventional machines and, moreover, an eco-friendly solution. Moreover, the material handling machine is always available as there is no need for refueling. Components such as particulate filter, AdBlue etc. are unnecessary.
