1. INTRODUCTION
1. INTRODUCTION
This manual provides the information necessary to repair, calibration, description and download the features of
this model.
1.2 Regulatory Information
A. Security
Toll fraud, the unauthorized use of telecommunications system by an unauthorized part (for example, persons
other than your company’s employees, agents, subcontractors, or person working on your company’s behalf)
can result in substantial additional charges for your telecommunications services.
System users are responsible for the security of own system. There are may be risks of toll fraud associated with
your telecommunications system. System users are responsible for programming and configuring the
equipment to prevent unauthorized use. The manufacturer does not warrant that this product is immune from
the above case but will prevent unauthorized use of common carrier telecommunication service of facilities
accessed through or connected to it. The manufacturer will not be responsible for any charges that result from
such unauthorized use.
B. Incidence of Harm
If a telephone company determines that the equipment provided to customer is faulty and possibly causing
harm or interruption in service to the telephone network, it should disconnect telephone service until repair can
be done. A telephone company may temporarily disconnect service as long as repair is not done.
C. Changes in Service
A local telephone company may make changes in its communications facilities or procedure. If these changes
could reasonably be expected to affect the use of the phones or compatibility with the net work, the telephone
company is required to give advanced written notice to the user, allowing the user to take appropriate steps to
maintain telephone service.
D. Maintenance Limitations
Maintenance limitations on the phones must be performed only by the manufacturer or its authorized agent.
The user may not make any changes and/or repairs expect as specifically noted in this manual. Therefore, note
that unauthorized alternations or repair may affect the regulatory status of the system and may void any
remaining warranty.

1. INTRODUCTION
E. Notice of Radiated Emissions
This model complies with rules regarding radiation and radio frequency emission as defined by local regulatory
agencies. In accordance with these agencies, you may be required to provide information such as the following
to the end user.
F. Pictures
The pictures in this manual are for illustrative purposes only; your actual hardware may look slightly different.
G. Interference and Attenuation
A phone may interfere with sensitive laboratory equipment, medical equipment, etc. Interference from
unsuppressed engines or electric motors may cause problems.
H. Electrostatic Sensitive Devices
ATTENTION
Boards, which contain Electrostatic Sensitive Device (ESD), are indicated by the sign.
Following information is ESD handling:
• Service personnel should ground themselves by using a wrist strap when exchange system boards. • When
repairs are made to a system board, they should spread the floor with anti-static mat which is also grounded.
• Use a suitable, grounded soldering iron. • Keep sensitive parts in these protective packages until these are used.
• When returning system boards or parts like EEPROM to the factory, use the protective package as described.

How do I put in and take out les from the SD card?
E977 does not support external SD cards.
You can't write or delete les in the internal storage of the terminal. For this, you
should connect the terminal with PC via a removable disk.
First, download and install the USB driver. Then, do the following when the USB
data communication cable is connected.

4 Q
A
The GPS location isn't right, what should I do?
GPS signals are so weak that it may be impossible to capture the location due to
weather conditions or surrounding environment(indoors, radio wave reection
etc).
When Setting->Location Service -> Google's Location Service item is checked,
location information can be brought from nearby base stations. In this cae,
compared to GPS-based location information, error ranges are wider, ending up in
failure to capture precise location information.
Check the 'Use GPS Satellites,' and get the current location with GPS outdoors to
lessen the error range.

The downloaded application isn't compatible?
You need to specify the incompatible aspects.
In general, the incompatibility issues are attributable to making APPs without
considering compatibility.
Let us know the incompatible apps, so that we can check those out for you.
Thanks.

How do I make an e-mail account?
Email supports EAS, IMAP4 and POP3 protocols.
Follow the steps below for registration.
(If no account has been registered, you are automatically driven to the registration
screen upon running the email.)
* EAS account
Choose MS Exchange as the email service provider >Enter your email address and
password (you are advised not to change the user name except when the email
address ID diers from the user name.) >Choose Server Addr, Domain and Use SSL
>Set the interval for reception and email synchronization > (Do security setting
conforming to server setting) > Done.

* IMAP4, POP3
Select email service provider >Enter email addr and password > (Make sure your
account supports IMAP4 or POP3 service)
> Select reception server and security type(if a service provider has already been
entered, the process goes automatically) >Select sending server and security
connection(if a service provider has already been entered, the process goes on
automatically). > (In general, the SMTP user name and password are same as the
email addr and password initially entered) >Done.

E-mail registration doesn’t work.
1. Email service uses data. Make sure WiFi or data is available.
2. Check out the email addr and password.
3. Check out your email service's account setting information(IMAP, POP3, SMTP).
4. Refer to your service administrator for EAS server info.
Unused application shows up as a using program even though it is all killed.
What should I do?
It is because the service is being run in the background of the app.
For example, phone or email app is supposed to let the user know when email
messages or voice calls arrive even though it is killed.

Wi connection doesn't work well.
WiFi connection failure may result from several causes. Try the following for wiFi
connection.
1. See if WiFi is ON.
2. See if it is connected to a service provicer's specialized AP, e.g. Rogers, Olleh KT, SKT
and U+.
1) These APs have Open security types and provide automatic connection without
requiring separate passwords. In practice, however, only AP-authorized terminals
can use WiFi. Try connecting to another AP.
3. Simply, AP info may dier from the info on the PHONE.
1) See if AP info, e.g. Security type and password is same as the info on the PHONE.
2) AP info may have been updated. Click the AP and "Forget". Press " Scan" button,
and the AP list is updated. Then, try connection again.
4. DHCP server troubles may hinder dynamic IP allocation. In this case, use a xed IP
for IP allocation.
1) "Show advanced options"(Check) > "IP Settings"(Static). Then, set "IP adress",
"Gateway", "Network prex length", "DNS 1" and "DNS 2" to connect to the AP.
