Subject:
Safety Related Recall Campaign – 1502L
Crankshaft Pulley
Background
Investigations by Lexus have determined that a requirement exists for the initiation of a Safety Recall Campaign to be
conducted in accordance with FCAI Code of Practice for Safety related recalls affecting a range of Lexus ES300 and
RX330 model vehicles.
Description of Problem
On certain ES300 and RX330 vehicles: The amount of adhesive agent applied between the outer ring and the torsional
damper rubber of the crankshaft pulley may be inadequate. If the adhesive is insufficient there is a possibility that the outer ring
may become misaligned and it may not properly rotate resulting in noise and / or battery light illumination and in the worst
case the power steering belt may become detached, suddenly increasing steering effort.
Involved Vehicles
A total of 2,429 Lexus vehicles produced within the VIN range and production period tabled below are involved in Australia.
Notes:
1) Although the involved vehicles are within the above VIN ranges, not all vehicles in these VIN ranges were sold in the
Australian market.
2)(#) indicates additional check digit (alpha or numeric).
