Safety Recall – Stop Lamp Switch
Investigations by Toyota Motor Corporation have determined that a requirement exists for the initiation of a safety recall campaign, to be conducted in accordance with the FCAI Code of Practice for safety related recalls, affecting a range of Lexus RX330 vehicles.
DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM
In the subject vehicles, a build-up of silica within the stop lamp switch from airborne silicone within the vehicle cabin results in poor electrical conductivity across the switch contact points. In the instance where this occurs, there is a possibility the stop lamps may not illuminate and in some instances the ABS / TRC warning light may illuminate. Additionally, the shift lock may not disengage and allow the shift lever to move from the “P” (Park) position. When this failure occurs, the manual override on the shift lock is required to remove the transmission shift lever from the “P” (Park) position. Some owners may not have experienced these conditions, however it is mandatory that all vehicles are actioned per this Safety Related Recall Campaign.

This label is designed so the completion information can be impressed into the label rather than being marked with ink, therefore the following applies:
1. Prior to affixing label, using a ballpoint pen, impress the date and campaign code number (4526K) and dealer code onto the label.
2. Ensure the right hand ‘A’ pillar post between the upper and lower door hinges is free of grease and oil in the area where the label is to be affixed.
