Using the Remote Control
Installing the battery
1. Open the battery compartment cover using a coin.
2. Insert a 3V lithium battery into the battery compartment with
the polarity ( + ) facing up as marked.

Connecting Earphones (Optional Accessory)
You can attach an earphone with a stereo mini-jack plug to the phone jack ( ) for private listening. The volume can be adjusted
using VOL + and VOL - on the remote control or using the VOLUME control dial on the Player .
Note: When the earphone is connected to the Phone Jack ( ), the speaker will be disconnected.

Connecting DIGITAL-TV Antenna
To receive digital TV and radio, you need to connect an antenna to the player. Follow these steps:
1. Plug the antenna cable into the antenna socket on the Player.
2. Place the antenna on any surface.
3. The antenna has a magnetic base which can be attached to any metal surface.
Suggestions to Improve TV Reception
You will significantly improve your TV reception by following
these tips.
1. Place the antenna near the windows.
2. Place the antenna on a metal surface especially of large
surface such as metal chair, table, cooking pot, coat rack,
radiator, hand etc.
3. Orient the antenna in different direction until a best
reception is obtained.
Note: This Players uses active (powered) antenna, the
amplifier provides an increased signal level compared to
passive (no power) antenna.
Two antenna poles are included for vertical and horizontal placement. When
placing the antenna on a vertical surface, a 90 degree-bend antenna maybe
used. To change, simply unscrew the pole from the base and replace with the
other pole.

Connecting to a TV
You can enjoy DVD quality video on a TV screen by connecting the output of the Player to your TV.
1. Turn off the DVD player and TV.
2. Connect the audio and video cables as illustrated.
3. Turn on the DVD player and TV.

Using USB Port
The Player accepts most USB devices such as MP3, DSC, USB- drive, Digital Camcorder etc. The USB in this Player supports
version 1.1/2.0.

Connecting a USB device
1. Plug in the USB device to the USB port on the Player.
2. Press SOURCE and use to select USB mode, press to confirm.
Removing a USB device
You can remove the USB device anytime even when it is playing. To remove the USB device, simply grasp the end of the USB and
remove it from the slot.
Playing a USB device
1. Press SOURCE and use to select USB mode, press to confirm. The Player will start playing the first file in the first
directory if there is more than one directory.
2. To play other files press MENU/PBC to bring up the file directory, then use the direction keys ( and ) to select and press
to play.
Note:
If you have different file types (photo, music, video) in the USB, make sure you have selected to display all file types ( see " Displaying
and Sorting Files") otherwise, some file types may not be displayed.

Using the AC Adaptor
This portable DVD player can be powered by AC through the supplied switching power AC adaptor. It can also use the
supplied battery pack.
When the AC adaptor is connected to the unit and powered, the unit will be automatically disconnected electrically from the
battery pack and powered by the AC power.

This PLAYER has a built-in rechargeable battery, follow these steps to recharge.
1. Connect the A.C adaptor as illustrated.
2. Slide POWER to OFF. ( The Player must be turned off to charge the battery).
3. The charging starts, and when it is fully charged, the charging stops automatically.

Watching DIGITAL TV
Preparation for TV Operation
1. Make sure the unit has the power either from the battery or
the AC adaptor.
2. Make sure the antenna is connected to the player.
3. Slide POWER on the Player to ON.
4. Use to select DVB mode, press to confirm.
First Time TV Setup
When you first use the TV, the Player automatically starts the
installation wizard, follow through the instruction to setup your
TV program.
Note: if you want to change the OSD language to your preferred
language follow these steps
1. Press SETUP on the remote control
2. Select System Setting and press to confirm.
3. Select OSD and press to confirm.
4. Use the direction keys ( ) to select OSD language you want,
press on the remote (or ENTER on the Player) to confirm.
5. Press SETUP to get out.
1. Select YES and press on the remote (or ENTER on the
Player) to confirm.
2. Select Country and press to confirm.
3. Use to select and press to change country .
4. The language and time zone will change automatically
according to the country you selected. But you still can
make change.
5. Select NEXT to continue.
6. Select YES to start scanning for TV channels and radio
stations, and the Player begins searching and listing the
available channels.
7. After completing the searching, the Player displays the first
TV program on the list. To change TV channel, use / CH+,
/ CH -.

Displaying Electronic Program Guide (EPG)
1. Press EPG to display the Electronic TV program guide.
2. Use / CH+ or / CH - to select program, and then press
to view program details.

Displaying Teletext
1. Press TELETEX to display the teletext.
2. Use to navigate content or key-in page number to view
different pages.

Watching Your Favorite TV programs

have set up in the section of TV Program: Favorite,
Listing Order, Deleting.

Setting Up Favorite Program List
To make a favorite program, simply move the cursor to Favor
column, and select the program name, press to confirm,

To watch favorite program, press FAVORITE on the remote
control and use CH+ and CH- to select your favorite program.
Changing Program Order
You can change the order of the program list, this is the order it
follows when / CH+ or / CH- is pressed.
Move the cursor to MOVE column and select the program and
press to confirm, " " appears, Use keys to move up
and down.
Deleting Program
You can permanently delete the program .
Move the cursor to Del column, select the program and press
to confirm, a " X " appears, and the program will be deleted when
you exit the setup.

Scanning and Setting TV Channel
The Player can automatically search available TV channels
and you can also do manual search. However when the
channel is locked (see SettingParental Control, Turning On/Off Program Channel Lock) any change in TV channel
will require the input of password.
NOTE:
Before performing TV channel scanning, make sure the Player
is set to the country in which you are using this Player. To set
the country see "Setting Country, Language, GMT , Time Zone, Program Scheduling."
Automatic Search
1. Press SOURCE on the remote control and select DVB.
2. Press SETUP to enter Main Menu.
3. Select Program Search and Automatic Search, press
to confirm.
4. Select OK to start the auto search, the message appears:
5. Select YES if you want to erase the entire previous channel list,
select NO if you want to add the newly scanned channels to the
existing channel list.
Manual Search
1. Press SETUP to enter Main Menu.
2. Select Program Search and Manual Search, press to
confirm.
3. Select Channel No, Use to select channel number and
press to change .
4. Select OK and press to confirm. If this channel dose not
have signal, the Player will not list this channel.

Setting Parental Control, Turning On/Off Program Channel Lock
You can put a lock on any program channel which will require a
password (PIN) to watch.
Setting Parental Control
1. Press SOURCE on the remote control and select DVB.
2. Use direction keys ( ) to select Parental Control then
Parental Setting, and press to confirm.
3. Enter PIN (for the first time use, it is 8888), and press OK and
screen the screen displays the TV program list.
4. Select program and repeatedly press to turn on and off
the lock.
5. Press EXIT to save and exit.
Turning On/Off Channel Lock
You need to turn on the Channel Lock in order to effect the
Parental Control. When the Channel Lock is turned on,
viewing a locked channel will require a password.
1. Select Channel Lock and select YES to turn on the lock.
2. To turn off the lock, a password is required.
Note: whenever the channel is locked, the Player requires
Password input when you want to do Program/Channel
search, or change to Factory Default setting.

Programming TV program schedule
You can program to watch a list of TV programs which will
automatically turn on and off according to a schedule.
1. Select Task and press to confirm.
2. Select Mode and press to confirm.
3. Use to select and press to change to Active or
Inactive the task.
4. Press to go back to Task.
5. Repeat STEPS 2 to 4 to s et Frequency, Channel Type, Channel No and fill in the Time Setting.
6. Repeat STEPS 1 to 5 to set other task.
7. Press SETUP to get out the setup.

Playing a Disc
Preparation for Playback
1. Make sure the Player has the power either from the battery
or the AC adaptor.
2. Load a disc, following these steps:
Open the top cover.
Press the OPEN button to open the disc cover.
Place a disc into the tray with the label side facing up.
Close the disc cover.
3. Slide POWER to ON to turn on the power.
4. Use to select DVD-ROM Drive mode, press to
confirm.
Play
Press (on the remote control) or (on the player) to
start play.
Adjusting volume
Press VOL+ or VOL- (on the remote control) or the VOLUME
control knob on the Player to change volume .
Stop
1. Press on the remote to temporarily stop the playback, " "
appears on the screen.
2. Press again to stop the playback.
Frame-by-Frame Playback
1. During playback, repeatedly press to play one frame at a
time.
2. To resume normal playback, press .
You can only perform step play in forward playback.
Resume
There are two ways to resume your playback when interrupted.
Method 1. -- for short time interruption
1. Press STOP ( ), the Player remembers where you stopped.
2. To resume, press , the Player will play from where you
stopped.
Method 2. -- for longer time interruption
1. Press OPEN to open the disc compartment door.
2. You can turn off the power, and even remove the disc from
the desk, when you turn on the power and replace the disc,
the Player will play from where you stopped.
Skip
You can skip chapters on DVD-Video, tracks on CDs, and
Video CDs.
1. To skip forward, press during play ,it skips to the next
chapter or track. Each press increases the numbers of skips.
2. To skip to the previous chapter or track, press .
Fast Forward and Reverse
1. During playback, to fast forward, repeatedly press to
increase the fast forward speed 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x.
2. During playback, to fast rewind, repeatedly press to
increase the fast reverse speed 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x.
3. To resume normal playback, press .

Playing a Disc
Slow Motion
1. During playback, repeatedly press SLOW to play at 1/2, 1/4,
1/8, 1/16, 1/32 speeds.
2. To resume normal playback, press .
You can only perform slow motion play in forward playback.
Repeat Playback
You can play a chapter, a track, a title, a file or the entire disc
repeatedly.
1. During playback, repeatedly press REPEAT to choose a
Repeat option. Depending on the type of disc, the Repeat
options may be different.
2. To cancel repeat playback, repeatedly press REPEAT until
“ off ”appears on the screen.
Mark (Bookmark)
The Mark function lets you "bookmark" points on the disc for
playback at a later time. You can store up to 20 bookmark
locations.
Follow these steps to set up marker playback:
1. During playback, press MARK on the remote control.
2. Use to select a bookmark location.
3. When you reach the scene you want to mark, press to
confirm.
4. Repeat the above procedure for a new scene. You can have
up to 20 bookmarks. Press MARK again to exit.
5.To clear the bookmark already set up, find it first, then press
CLEAR.
You can perform marker playback at any time by pressing
MARK, and using to select one of the bookmarks, then
pressing to start playing the bookmarked scene. The
Playback continues until the end of the disc. Repeat the above
to play the other marked scenes.
GOTO
You can go directly to a desired chapter and play, or play at a
desired point of time. Follow these steps:
(A)To play a specific chapter.
1. Press GOTO, use to select title (TT) and chapter (CH)
and enter the desired number.
2. Press ENTER to confirm and start play.
(B)To play from a specific point of time.
1. Press GOTO twice to move to the time display and it
changes 0:00:00.
2. Fill in the time (hour: minute: second).
3. Press ENTER to confirm and start play.
ZOOM
ZOOM lets you enlarge the video image during playback and
pan through the enlarged image.
1. Press ZOOM repeatedly during video playback to enlarge
the image to x 2 or x 4 times of the normal size.
2. Press ZOOM repeatedly while displaying JPEG file and
Picture CD disc to zoom in the picture at 150% or 200% and
zoom out the picture at 25% or 50%.
Use direction keys ( and ) to move around (pan and
scan) the enlarged video or picture.

Mute
Press MUTE to silence the audio, press MUTE again to restore it.
Displaying disc's MENU/PBC
During DVD playback, press MENU/PBC to return to the disc's
Start Menu. If the disc does not have the Start Menu, or discs
that refuse MENU function, appears.
For VCD playback, press MENU/PBC to turn on/off PBC
(Playback Control). If PBC is enabled, a menu of scene's
thumbnails will appear, you can make selection for playback.
LANGUAGE
Repeatedly press LANGUAGE during DVD playback to change
the language of the voice if the disc has multiple languages.
This function is only valid for DVDs.
Subtitle
Repeatedly press SUBTITLE during DVD playback to change
the subtitle's language If the disc has multiple subtitle's
languages.This function is only valid for DVDs.
Angle
Repeatedly press ANGLE during DVD playback to change the
camera angle if the disc has different camera angles.
This function is only valid for DVDs.
TITLE
Press TITLE, it takes you to the very beginning of the title and
play, or to the MENU if it has a title menu.
DISPLAY
Repeatedly press DISPLAY during playback to display various
playback information such as current title, chapter, track
elapsed time, languages etc.
L/R
This function is mostly used for karaoke (sing along) discs, by
repeatedly pressing L/R, you can select STEREO, MONO
(Left), MONO (Right), MIX MONO etc.
P/N
This is used when you connect the Player to a TV and watch
video on the TV. Repeatedly press P/N to select NTSC, PAL
and AUTO to match the system of your TV.
The LCD screen does not have NTSC or PAL, so if you watch
video on the Player's screen, it is recommended to set it to
NTSC which will give a better video quality. The player will
play both PAL or NTSC DVD's titles even when the Player is
set to NTSC.

Playing MP3 and Regular Audio CD
Valid MP3 CD
Your MP3 files should be ISO 9660 or JOLIET format.
Play
In most cases, when an MP3 or audio disc is placed into the
player, the first song file of the first folder plays.
In other cases, the file manager appears. Use direction keys
( and ) to select the song file and press to play.

Playing Picture CD
Valid Picture
The player can play both a Kodak Picture CD that you order
from photo processing store, and a home-made CD by burning
JPEG files onto a CD-R or CD-RW disc.
Play
In most cases, after the disc is placed into the player, the first
file will be shown.
In other cases, the file manager appears. Use direction keys
( and ) to select the picture and press on the
Player or on the remote control to start the slide show
( plays photos automatically).
To return to file list, press MENU/PBC.
To display thumbnail, press " " during playback of images.
To start slide show, press " " during playback of images.
Press ZOOM to enlarge the photo and use and to move
around the enlarged photo. The slide show function stops when
you press ZOOM.
Next/Previous
You can manually skip to the next picture by pressing , and
to skip to the previous picture by pressing .
Rotate
The picture can be rotated and flipped.
1. During playback, use the direction keys ( and ) to
rotate; clockwise 90 degrees, 90 degrees counter clockwise,
flip vertically and horizontally respectively.

Reversing the Screen Display
You can flip an image or video 180 degrees. To do this, simply
press and hold down SOURCE front panel (not Remote
Control) for 2 seconds while playing DVD, DVBT or view an
image.

Displaying and Sorting Files
Displaying files
When a disc or USB device contains multiple file types, you
can select and display only certain file types.
1. Press STOP and select FILE TYPE and press " " to
confirm.
2. Select the file type you do not want to display and repeatedly
press " " so the check mark disappears.
3. Repeat STEP 2 to hide the other file type.
4. Select EXIT and press " " to get out.

Sort File
Sorting files
You can list the file in the order according to its type, name or
date.
1. Press STOP and select SORT FILE, press " " to
confirm.
2. Select one of the sorting criteria ( by type, by name
and by date).
3. Select Ascending or Descending order for listing the
files, press " " to confirm.
4. Select EXIT and press " " to get out.
NOTE: If the file is listed by name, It will first list the file
names with capital letter in alphabetical order,
then files with lower case.

Changing Settings of “DVD Setup”
You can make changes on language ( Menu, substitle etc), audio
output etc when playing DVD, follow these steps to make changes:
1. Press SOURCE on the remote and select DVD-ROM Drive,
press to confirm.
2. Press SETUP to access Main Menu.
3. Select DVD Setup and press to confirm .
4. Use and to select the Language Setup, Audio Setup,
Custom Setup and Exitpress to confirm your selection.
5. Use and to move to the Item and its setting thatyou want
to make changes, press to confirm.
6. Select Exit or press SETUP to exit.

Downmix
Downmix is the process of mixing the original 5.1 audio into two channels. You can make
these two selections
(a) Lt/Rt : if you listen to Dolby Surround Pro-Logic
(b) Lo/To: if you listen to earphone or stereo speaker.

Changing “System Setting”
The System Settings are common to DVB-T and DVD modes
1. Press SETUP on the remote control to access Main Menu.
2. Select System Setting and press to confirm .
3. Use and to select the Language Setup, Display Setup,
Preference and Exit.
4. Use and to move to the Item and its setting that
you want to make changes, press to confirm.
5. Select Exit or press SETUP to exit.

Troubleshooting
If your DVD player dose not seem to be functioning properly, check the items below before you contact a service center.
Symptom
Power does not turn on
or suddenly turns off
Make sure the AC Power cord is securely plugged into an AC outlet.
Turn the power off and then back on.
Check
Battery power does not turn on
or suddenly turns off
Remote control does not work
Disc does not play
No picture
No video output from DVD
player
Check that the battery pack is charged. If not, recharge it.
Check if the battery is inserted in the "+" and "-" directions properly.
Check if the battery has power, if not, replace them with new batteries.
Check that the signal transmission is pointing directly at the remote control sensor on the
DVD player.
Check that the disc is a DVD, DVD-RW, VIDEO CD, or AUDIO CD.
Do not use a disc that has scratches or dirt.
Check that the label-side of the disc is facing up.
The pick-up lens of the DVD player might be dirty. Contact the service center for lens cleaning.
Check if the LCD on/off switch is stuck, and cannot move freely when the top cover is open.
Check that the video or audio cable is securely connected.
Make sure the TV's video input is switched to DVD player.
Check if the video output from DVD player is set correctly.

Troubleshooting

Check
Check the volume setting on the remote control as well as the volume knob on the Player
is not set to minimum.
Check if MUTE function is off.
Check that no earphone is plugged into the PHONES and Audio jack.
Speakers cannot be used with the headphones.
Check that the DVD player is turned off.
You cannot charge the built-in battery with the player turned on.
Check that the AC adaptor is securely plugged in.
If the DVD player or battery is overheated, you will not be able to charge the battery.
Check if TV broadcast is available.
Check if the antenna is installed properly, and antenna is OK.
Check if the correct country is chosen.
Check the volume setting on the remote control as well as the volume knob on the Player
is not set to minimum.
Check if MUTE function is off.
