1. INTRODUCTION
The On-Q/Legrand lyriQ™ Triple-Source Input (P/N AU7428) converts and sends line-level audio from up to three audio components (i.e. Stereo Receiver, CD Player, Tape Deck, etc.) to an audio distribution module via Category 5 cable (see Figure 1).
It is an integral part of the lyriQ™ Audio System, which utilizes Category 5 technology to distribute high quality audio to remote locations via Category 5 cable, creating a versatile whole-house audio system that will fill your rooms with high quality sound for years to come. This technology provides many advantages over conventional methods of audio distribution, such as simple Category 5 wiring schemes, infrared control of system components, and improved sound quality due to an amplifier being located in every room.
This unit also receives IR control codes from the Volume Control IR Targets and passes them to the emitter output ports for control of the source equipment.

2. DESCRIPTION
The lyriQ™ Triple-Source Input typically resides at the entertainment center (see Figure 2). It accepts stereo line level audio via three sets of Left/Right RCA jacks, and transmits the audio via two Category 5 cable runs to a centrally-located, enclosure-mounted lyriQ™ Four Source, Eight-Zone Distribution Module (P/N AU1002). The distribution module then distributes the audio, also via Category 5 cable, to lyriQ™ Amplified Keypads (P/N AU7394-xx or AU5009-xx for Studio version) or lyriQ™ High Performance Keypads (P/N AU1000-xx or AU5010-xx for Studio version) in multiple rooms throughout the house.
If an audio component is being shared with an A/V receiver and the multi-source system, and doesn't have secondary fixed stereo line level outputs, use two Y-cables to split that component's output signal so it can be sent directly into one set of RCA jacks on the TripleSource Input and also to the A/V receiver (see Figure 3).

Each set of RCA jacks has an associated Gain Control on the
bottom of the module (see Figure 4), which can be used to adjust the amplitude of each line-level audio signal entering the TripleSource Input. This is useful because the strength (amplitude) of linelevel output signals often varies among audio components. By simply adjusting the gain of each signal you can achieve a balanced level among audio sources, ensuring consistent minimum and maximum volume in every room regardless of which audio source is selected.
Some sources may be deemed to be "hot" and cause audio distortion in the system. In this case, reducing the line level with the gain adjustment will solve the issue. If devices have a very low output they can be adjusted to be on par with the rest of the sources.
Three 2.5mm IR jacks on the lyriQ™ Triple Source Input allow for remote control of source audio components from any room in the
house with a lyriQ™ Amplified Keypad or High Performance Keypad. The IR targets on these volume controls provide a direct path back to the IR jacks on the Triple-Source Input, which in turn sends the IR signals to the source audio components via a Dual IR Mouse Emitter (P/N F7425).
There is also one IR Input Jack. By using an infrared target such as the Universal IR Target (P/N AC1016), all system components can
be controlled behind closed doors at the entertainment center. In most other multi-room audio systems, two sets of emitters must be placed on the source equipment for control. One emitter is for the multi-room system and the other for control within that room for an application like watching a movie. The lyriQ™ system acts as both an IR distribution system for multi-source control and as an IR distribution for the home theater.
The output from FOUR audio devices can be distributed throughout the house by also using a lyriQ™ Single Source Input (P/N
AU7398) along with the Triple-Source Input. Plan ahead for this by running a third Category 5 cable from the Enclosure to the room containing the fourth source audio equipment (see Figure 5).
Optionally, the lyriQ™ Local Source Input (P/N F7417 or AU5008-xx for Studio Local Source Input) can be wired in any room, allowing
users to plug in devices like portable audio players, master bedroom TVs, or computer audio outputs for in-room listening on local speakers. It automatically overrides the remote source music in the room when the local source is on and returns to the source when local source is off.
