INTRODUZIONE
Vi ringraziamo per aver scelto la macchina da caffè Lavazza Espresso Point EP850.
Vi ricordiamo che questa macchina funziona esclusivamente usando cialde “Lavazza ESPRESSO
POINT” garantendo così un ottimo caffè espresso. Non introdurre quindi cialde o prodotto di
altra provenienza in quanto la macchina subirebbe gravi conseguenze.
NOTE ALLA CONSEGNA
Alla consegna la macchina è imballata nell’apposita scatola personalizzata; il contenuto dell’imballo è:
- 1 macchina con relativi accessori.
Controllare che non manchi nulla, che non vi siano danni alla macchina ed all’imballo.
In caso di pezzi mancanti o danneggiati rivolgersi subito al rivenditore, prima di effettuare qualsiasi operazione di installazione.
AVVERTENZE GENERALI DI SICUREZZA
Leggere con attenzione questo libretto istruzioni prima di installare ed usare l’apparecchio, e
conservarlo per le future consultazioni.
Questa macchina è costruita per erogare caffè espresso o vapore, prestare sempre molta attenzione a non scottarsi con un utilizzo improprio.
Questo apparecchio è destinato ad essere utilizzato nelle applicazioni domestiche e similari quali:
- nelle zone per cucinare riser vate al personale nei negozi, negli uffici e in altri ambienti profes-
sionali;
- nelle fattorie;
- utilizzo da parte di clienti di alberghi, motel e altri ambienti a carattere residenziale;
- negli ambienti tipo bed and breakfast.
Non toccare mai le parti calde.
I particolari che compongono l’imballag gio (scatola, polistirolo espanso, sacchetti ecc...) non
devono assolutamente essere lasciati alla portata dei bambini perché possono essere potenziali fonti di pericolo. Non disperdere i par ticolari dell’imballaggio nell’ambiente.
Questo apparecchio deve essere destinato solo ed esclusivamente all’uso descritto in questo
libretto di istruzioni: erogazione di caffè espresso o altre bevande calde, erogazione di vapore
per il riscaldamento di latte o altre bevande calde.
Ogni altro uso è da considerarsi improprio.
Il costruttore declina ogni responsabilità per possibili danni causati da usi errati o irragionevoli
dell’apparecchio.
Prima di collegarsi all’apparecchio accertarsi che i dati di targa (vedere sull’etichetta posta sulla parte inferiore della macchina) corrispondano a quelli della rete di distribuzione elettrica.
L’installazione deve essere effettuata secondo le norme vigenti nel paese in cui la macchina
viene ins tallata, secondo le istruzioni del costruttore e da personale qualificato o che abbia letto il presente libretto di istruzioni.
Per la sicurezza elettrica di questo apparecchio è obbligatorio l’impianto di messa a terra.
Il costruttore declina ogni responsabilità da danni causati dalla mancanza di messa a terra
dell’impianto.
In caso di dubbi rivolgersi ad un elettricista munito di idoneità tecnica certificata, che verificherà che la portata elettrica dell’impianto sia adeguata alla potenza massima dell’apparecchio
segnalata sull’etichetta.
Dovrà anche essere accertato che la sezione dei cavi dell’impianto sia idonea alla potenza assorbita dall’apparecchio.
Non toccare mai l’apparecchio con mani o piedi bagnati.
Non immergere mai l’apparecchio in acqua.
Non utilizzare mai prolunghe in locali adibiti a bagno o doccia.
Svolgere per tutta la sua lunghezza il cavo di alimentazione onde evitare pericolosi surriscaldamenti.
Non tirare il cavo di alimentazione per scollegare l’apparecchio dalla rete elettrica.
Scollegare sempre l’apparecchio quando si effettua il riempimento del serbatoio con acqua o
qualsiasi operazione di controllo.

che, sensoriali o mentali, o con mancanza di esperienza o conoscenza della macchina, a meno che
essi non siano super visionati o istruiti da parte di una persona responsabile per la loro sicurezza.
In caso di guasto, mal funzionamento o per riparazioni considerate di manutenzione straordinaria, spegnere l’apparecchio senza manometterlo e senza intervenire. Per riparazioni rivolgersi
solo ed esclusivamente a personale qualificato o ad un centro di assistenza autorizzato dal
costruttore e richiedere l’utilizzo di ricambi originali.
Il mancato rispetto di queste norme può compromettere la sicurezza dell’impianto.
Se il cavo di alimentazione risultasse danneggiato, esso dovrà essere sostituito dal costruttore o dal suo servizio assistenza tecnica o comunque da una persona con qualifica similare, in
modo da prevenire ogni rischio.
Non disperdere la macchina nell’ambiente, per il corretto smaltimento rivolgersi ad un centro
autorizzato o contattare il costruttore che darà delucidazioni in merito.
Posizionare l’apparecchio a circa 15 cm da pareti o altre macchine in modo da favorirne l’areazione.
Prima di procedere con qualsiasi operazione di installazione, manutenzione, ecc...il tecnico dovrà indossare guanti da lavoro e scarpe antinfortunistiche.
Per qualsiasi comunicazione al costruttore relativa ad osservazioni tecniche o guasti, indicare
sempre il nome del modello e il numero di matricola dell’apparecchio; i dati sono riportati sull’etichetta posta sotto la base della macchina.
Questo apparecchio è conforme alle direttive 2006/42 CE, 2006/95/CE, 2004/108/CE.

DESCRIZIONE DELL’APPARECCHIO (vedi figura a)

INSTALLAZIONE (vedi figura a)
Prima di procedere alla installazione leggere accuratamente il paragrafo “Avvertenze generali
di sicurezza”.
Estrarre l’apparecchio dal proprio imballo.
Posizionare l’apparecchio in piano e in posizione stabile.
Posizionare l’apparecchio in ambienti chiusi ed a temperatura ambiente superiore a 5° C.
Sollevare il coperchio (1), riempire il serbatoio acqua (2) con acqua potabile naturale e controllare che il tubo di pescaggio sia in sede.
Utilizzare acqua potabile naturale oppure, se l’acqua dell’impianto fosse particolarmente calcarea, acqua minerale naturale.
Riposizionare il coperchio (1) .
Allacciare l’apparecchio ad una presa di corrente MUNITA DI TERRA utilizzando il cavo di alimentazione (8) . Accertarsi che la presa sia adatta a sopportare il carico della macchina (vedi carat-
teristiche tecniche). Non utilizzare prese multiple e/o prolunghe.
L’utilizzo di un filtro dell’acqua (accessorio opzionale) migliora la qualità dell’acqua e allunga la
durata dell’apparecchio. Utilizzare il filtro “AquaAroma Crema Brita” per Lavazza (fig. l).
Per inserire il filtro seguire il foglio di istruzioni allegato all’accessorio.
ATTENZIONE: l’uso della macchina senza acqua arreca gravi danni non coperti da garanzia.
PREPARAZIONE DEL CAFFÈ (vedi figure a-b-c-d-e-f-g)
Per ottenere un ottimo caffè espresso è necessario che la macchina sia pronta, si consiglia
pertanto di accenderla qualche minuto prima dell’utilizzo.
1) Inserire la cialda nell’apposita sede della coppetta (11 ) (fig. b);
2) Inserire la coppetta (11 ) ne l gr uppo cald aia fi sso (9) , spingerla verso l’alto e ruotarla in senso
antiorario fino al completo serraggio (fig.c-d);
3) In relazione alle dimensioni della tazzina usata, regolare l’altezza della griglia poggia tazza
capovolgendone la base (6) (fig. e-f-g);
4) Premere l’interruttore caffè (1 4) e l’erogazione del caffé avrà inizio (fig. f);
5) Al raggiungimento della quantità desiderata interrompere l’erogazione ripor tando l’interrut-
tore (1 4) in posizione iniziale;
Attendere circa 5 secondi, aprire il porta cialde (11) ruotando l’impugnatura verso sinistra e
rimuovere subito la cialda.
Estrarre sempre la cialda esausta dalla macchina dopo l’erogazione del caffè.
ATTENZIONE: nella pr eparazione del cappuccino erogare pr ima il caffè e di seguito montar e il latte.
IMPORTANTE: accer tarsi sempre che vi sia acqua nel serbatoio e che questo risulti ben aggan-
ciato alla macchina.
Nota: a macchina accesa un leggero gocciolio del sottocoppa è del tutto normale.
Vuotare spesso il cassetto raccogli gocce (7).
PREPARAZIONE DEL CAPPUCCINO (vedi figure a-g-h)
1) Tenere premuto il pulsante vapore (1 5) fino a quando la spia luminosa vapore si accende;
2) Al rilascio del pulsante vapore le spie caffè (14 ) e vapore (1 5) si accendono indicando il raggiungimento della temperatura ottimale per il vapore (fig. a);
3) Immergere circa metà della cannetta monta latte (5) nella tazza contenente il latte, versato
in precedenza (fig. h);
4) Aprire il rubinetto vapore ruotando la manopola (3) in senso antiorario (fig. h);
Inizierà quindi l’erogazione di vapore;
5) Al raggiungimento della quantità di schiuma la desiderata interrompere l’erogazione riportando la manopola (3) in posizione iniziale e rilasciare il pulsante vapore (1 5) .
IMPORTANTE: al termine dell’erogazione eseguire la pulizia del tubo vapore e della cannetta con
un panno umido. Si consiglia di utilizzare l’erogazione vapore per un tempo massimo di 1 minuto
seguito da un tempo di riposo di almeno 30 secondi.
MANCANZA ACQUA (vedi figura a)
Il livello dell’acqua può essere controllato direttamente dal serbatoio trasparente e deve essere
sempre superiore all’indicazione di minimo.
In caso di mancanza di acqua l’erogazione si blocca e la pompa diventa più rumorosa e si avverte un gorgoglio dall’interno del serbatoio d’acqua.
AVVERTENZA: prima di riempire il serbatoio scollegare l’apparecchio dalla rete elettrica.
ATTENZIONE: riempire immediatamente il serbatoio con acqua fresca facendo attenzione a non
superare il livello di massimo e riprendere il normale utilizzo.
Se manca acqua durante il funzionamento, riempire il serbatoio, senza inserire la coppetta porta cialde (11) , aprire il rubinetto vapore ruotando la manopola (3) sul simbolo vapore, dopo pochi istanti l’acqua defluirà dal tubo vapore (4 -5), richiudere il rubinetto vapore.

MANUTENZIONE E PULIZIA (vedi figure a-i)
Staccare sempre la spina dalla presa di corrente.
Vuotare periodicamente ogni 2/3 giorni il cassetto raccogli gocce (7) o c omun que quan do è p ieno. Pulire il gruppo di supporto (9) con un panno leggermente imbevuto d’acqua ed asciugare
bene. E’ possibile sfilare il cassetto raccogli gocce (7), la cannetta monta latte (5), il beccuccio
erogazione (12) , il serbatoio acqua (2), la coppetta porta cialde (11) e lavarli con acqua corrente; asciugarli bene, dopodiché rimontarli.
Per la pulizia utilizzare un comune detergente liquido neutro, non utilizzare per nessun motivo
materiali abrasivi, alcool o solventi. Non immergere mai la macchina in acqua.
DECALCIFICAZIONE
È un’operazione indispensabile per mantenere la macchina in perfetta efficienza. Va fatta periodicamente ogni 2/3 mesi. È necessaria soprattutto prima che la macchina rimanga inattiva
per molti gior ni (ad esempio pr ima di par tire per le v acanza) onde ev itare che il calcare si solidifichi, danneggiando irrimediabilmente guarnizioni e pompa.
Sono disponibili in commercio prodotti appositamente preparati per le macchine da caffè corredate di chiare istruzioni di utilizzo.
Rivolgetevi al vostro rivenditore per sapere dove reperirne.
ATTENZIONE: i danni causati dal calcare sono esclusi dalla garanzia.

INTRODUCTION
Thank you for choosing the Lavazza Espresso Point EP 850 coffee machine.
Please note that this machine works only with “Lavazza ESPRESSO POINT” cartridges, thus
ensuring an excellent espresso coffee. Do not use other types of car tridges or products as they
could seriously damage the machine.
DELIVERY NOTES
Upon delivery, the machine is packaged in a customised box; the box contains:
- 1 machine with its fittings.
Check that nothing is missing and that the machine and the packaging have not been damaged.
If any parts are missing or damaged, immediately contact the authorised retailer before proceeding with any installation operations.
GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS
Carefully read this instruction manual before installing and using the machine, and retain it for
future reference.
This machine is built to dispense espresso coffee or steam. Always pay careful attention in
order to avoid scalding resulting from improper use.
This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.
Never touch hot surfaces.
Do not leave the packaging items (box, polystyrene foam, bags, etc.) within the reach of chil-
dren because they can be a potential source of danger. Do not dispose of packaging items in
the environment.
This device must be used solely and exclusively for the purposes described in this instruction
manual: dispensing espresso coffee and other hot beverages, dispensing steam for heating
milk, or other hot beverages.
All other uses are prohibited. The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for any damage
caused by improper or unreasonable use of the device.
Before connecting the machine, check whether the information stated on the rating plate (see
the label placed on the lower part of the machine) corresponds to that of your mains supply.
Installation must be executed in accordance with the standards of the country in which the
machine is installed, following the manufacturer’s instructions and by qualified personnel or
by personnel who have previously read this User Manual.
To ensure the elec trical safety of this machine, a grounding system is required. The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for any damages due to lack of a grounding system. In case of
doubt, contact a qualified electrician, who will check whether the system electrical capacity is
adequate for the maximum power stated on the plate. Also ensure that the cable section of the
system is suitable for the absorbed power of the machine.
Never touch the machine with wet hands or feet.
Never immerse the machine in water.
Never use ex tension cords in the bathroom or shower.
Completely extend the power cord in order to avoid dangerous overheating.
Do not pull on the power cord to unplug the machine from the main line wall socket. Always un-
plug the machine before filling the tank with water or carrying out any check.
This machine must not be used by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capacities, or by persons who do not have experience of the machine or who are not
familiar with it, unless they are supervised or trained by a person responsible for their safety.
In case of breakdown, failure or unexpected maintenance problems, switch off the machine
without tampering with it or attempting to intervene. For repairs, consult qualified personnel or
an authorised service facility only and ensure that only authorised spare parts are used. Failure
to comply with these instructions may compromise the safety of the machine.
If the power cord be damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorised technical service centre or a per son similary qualified, in order to prevent all risks.
Do not dispose of the machine in the environment. For instructions on proper disposal of the
machine, contact an authorised centre or the manufacturer.
Place the machine approximately 15 cm from walls or other machines in order to facilitate air
circulation. For installation or maintenance operations etc., the technician must wear appropriate gloves and safety shoes.
For any correspondence with the manufac turer regarding technical information or malfunctions, please always cite the machine model and serial number; this information is provided on
the rating plate located on the base of the machine.
This machine conforms to the directives 2006/42 CE, 2006/95/CE, 2004/108/CE.

INSTALLATION (figure a)
Carefully read the paragraph “General Safety Warnings” before installing the machine.
Remove the machine from its packaging.
Place the machine on a flat and stable sur face.
Place the machine indoors at a room temperature above 5° C.
Lift cover (1) , fill water tank (2) with natural drinkable water and check that the intake tube is in

place. Use natural mineral water if tap water is too hard.
Close cover (1) . Plug the machine to a GROUNDED socket using the supplied power cord (8) .
Make sure the socket can support the capacity of the machine (see Technical Data).
Do not use multiple sockets and/or extension cords.
The use of a water filter (an optional accessory) improves water quality and prolongs machine
life. Use the “AquaAroma Crema Brita” for Lavazza filter (fig. l). In order to insert the filter,
follow the instruction sheet which comes with the accessory.
CAUTION: using the machine without water will cause serious damage not covered by
warranty.
PREPARATION OF COFFEE (figures a-b-c-d-e-f-g)
To prepare an excellent espresso, the machine must be ready. For this reason, it is advisable to
switch the machine on a few minutes prior to use.
1) insert the car tridge in its seat in the cartridge-holding filter (11) (fig. b);
2) inser t the filter (11) in fixed boiler unit (9), push it upwards and rotate it counterclokwise
until it is completely tightened (fig. c-d);
3) depending on the size of the cup used, adjust the height of the cup suppor t rack by turning
over the base (6) (figs. e-f-g);
4) press the coffee switch (1 4) to start dispensing the coffee (fig. f);
5) when you reach the desired quantity, stop dispensing the coffee by returning switch (1 4) to
its original position;
Wait about 5 seconds, then open the cartridge-holding filter (11) by rotating the handle to the
left and remove the cartridge.
Always remove the used cartridge from the machine after dispensing coffee.
CAUTION: when preparing cappuccino, dispense coffee first and then froth the milk.
IMP OR TANT: always make sure that there is water in the tank and that the tank is properly
hooked to the machine.
Note: when the machine is on, some drops from the filter are normal. Empty the drop-collecting
tray (7) often.
PREPARATION OF CAPPUCCINO (figures a-g-h)
1) Keep the steam button (1 5) pressed until the steam indicator light glows;
2) when you release the steam button, the coffee light (1 4) and the steam light (15 ) glow to
indicate that the optimum temperature for steam has been reached (fig. a);
3) immerse half of the milk frother (5) in a cup of milk poured previously (fig. h);
4) open the steam nozzle by rotating knob (3) counterclockwise (fig. h);
5) steam dispensing starts;
6) when you reach the desired quantity of froth, stop dispensing by rotating knob 3 to its initial
position and release steam button (1 5) .
IMP OR TAN T: when you finish dispensing, clean milk frother and steam spout using a damp cloth.
Use the steam spout for a maximum of 1 minute and then allow it to rest for at least 30 seconds.
SHORTAGE OF WATER (figure a)
Water level can be directly checked through the transparent tank, and it must always be above
the minimum level. In case of water shor tage, water dispensing stops, the pump is more noisy
and a gurgling noise is produced in the water tank.
WARNING: before filling the tank, disconnect the device from the power outlet.
CAUTION: immediately fill the tank with fresh water, paying attention not to exceed the maxi-
mum level, and return to normal use.
If the water supply runs out during operation, without inserting the cartridge-holding filter (1 1),
open the steam nozzle by rotating knob (3) to the steam symbol. After a few moments, water
will flow from the steam spout (4 -5). Close the steam nozzle.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING (figure a-i)
Always disconnect the plug from the power socket.
Empty the drop-collecting tray (7) every 2 - 3 days, or whenever it is full.
Clean the support unit (9) with a cloth moistened with water and carefully dry it.
You can remove drop-collecting tray (7), milk frother (5), coffee spout (12) , water tank (2), and
cartridge-holding filter (11) , wash them with running water, dry them carefully and replace them.
For cleaning use an ordinary, neutral liquid detergent. Under no circumstances use abrasives,
alcohol or solvents. Never immerse the machine in water.
DECALCIFICATION
This operation is necessary in order to keep the machine in proper working condition. Decalcification should be done every 2 - 3 months. In par ticular, it is necessary before an extended
period of disuse (for example, before going on holiday), in order to avoid hardening of calcium
deposits which would severely damage the seals and pump.
Please ask your retailer where to find products made specifically for coffee machines, provided
with clear instructions.
CAUTION: Damage caused by calcium deposits are not covered by warranty.

Nous vous rappelons que cette machine fonctionne exclusivement avec les capsules filtre
FAP® « Lavazza ESPRESSO POINT », garantissant ainsi un excellent café espresso.
On évitera par conséquent d’introduire des capsules ou des produits d’autre provenance qui
risqueraient d’endommager sérieusement la machine.
REMARQUE A LA LIVRAISON
La machine est livrée dans une boîte spéciale et personnalisée ;
contenant :
- 1 machine et ses accessoires.
Vérifier qu’il ne manque rien, que ni la machine ni l’emballage ne sont endommagés.
En cas de pièces manquantes ou endommagées, s’adresser immédiatement au revendeur,
avant d’effectuer toute opération d’installation.

Veiller à ne pas se brûler lors d’une utilisation impropre.
Cet appareil est destiné à être utilisé dans les applications ménagères et similaires, telles que :
- dans les zones ser vant de cuisine, réservées au personnel, dans les magasins, dans les bu-
reaux et dans d’autres milieux professionnels ;
- dans les usines ;
- utilisation par les clients des hôtels, motels, et autres endroits à caractère résidentiel ;
- dans les pièces de type bed and breakfast.
Ne jamais toucher les parties chaudes.
Les parties qui composent l’emballage (boîte, polystyrène expansé, sachets, etc.) ne doivent
absolument pas être laissées à portée des enfants, car ils peuvent représenter un danger pour
eux. Ne pas disperser les par ties de l’emballage dans l’environnement.
Cet appareil doit être destiné exclusivement à l’usage prévu dans cette notice d’utilisation, soit
à la préparation de café espresso ou autres boissons chaudes, distribution de vapeur pour le
chauffage du lait ou autres boissons chaudes. Tout autre usage est considéré comme impropre. Le fabriquant décline toute responsabilité pour les dommages éventuels dérivant d’une
utilisation impropre de l’appareil.
Avant de brancher l’appareil, s’assurer que les informations reportées sur la plaque (voir l’étiquette adhésive située sur la partie inférieure de la machine) correspondent aux caractéristi-
ques du réseau électrique. L’installation doit être effectuée selon les normes en vigueur dans
le pays d’installation de la machine, conformément aux instructions du fabriquant et par du
personnel qualifié ou ayant lu la présente notice.
Pour la sécurité électrique de l’appareil, le réseau électrique devra nécessairement disposer
d’une prise de terre.
Le fabriquant décline toute responsabilité pour des dommages dérivant de l’absence de mise à
la terre. En cas de doute, s’adresser à un électricien agréé pour vérifier si la charge électrique du
circuit est adaptée à la puissance maximale de l’appareil signalée sur l’étiquette.
Il conviendra également de vérifier que la section des câbles du système est adaptée à la puissance absorbée par l’appareil.
Ne jamais toucher l’appareil avec les mains ou les pieds mouillés.
Ne jamais plonger l’appareil dans l’eau.
Ne jamais utiliser de rallonges dans une salle de bain.
Dérouler le câble d’alimentation sur tou te sa longueur, afin d’éviter des surchauffes dangereuses.
Ne pas tirer sur le câble d’alimentation pour débrancher l’appareil du réseau électrique.
Débrancher toujours l’appareil avant d’effectuer le remplissage du réservoir d’eau ou toute
autre opération de contrôle.
L’utilisation de l’appareil n’est pas prévue pour des personnes (y compris des enfants) dont les
capacités physiques, sensorielles ou mentales, ou le manque d’expérience et de connaissance
de la machine les empêchent de l’utiliser en toute sécurité sans surveillance ou instruction
préalable.
En cas de panne, de dysfonctionnement ou pour des opérations relevant de la maintenance
extraordinaire, éteindre simplement l’appareil, sans essayer d’intervenir. Pour les réparations,
s’adresser uniquement à du personnel qualifié ou à un centre d’assistance autorisé par le fabriquant et exiger l’utilisation de pièces détachées d’origine. Le non-respect de ces normes peut
compromettre la sécurité de l’installation.
Si le câble d’alimentation est endommagé, celui-ci devra être remplacé par le fabriquant ou par
son service d’assistance technique ou encore par du personnel qualifié afin d’éviter tout risque.
Ne pas jeter la machine dans l’environnement ; s’adresser à un centre autorisé ou contacter le
fabriquant pour obtenir des informations concernant le démontage correct de la machine.
Placer l’appareil à environ 15 cm du mur ou d’autres machines afin de faciliter son aération.
Avant de procéder à toute opération d’installation, maintenance, etc., le technicien devra mettre des gants de travail et des chaussures de sécurité.
Pour toute communication d’observations techniques ou de pannes au fabriquant, veiller à toujours indiquer le nom du modèle et le numéro de série de l’appareil figurant sur l’étiquette située
sous la base de la machine.
