EXTERIOR

This is a modern, relevant and compelling
vehicle, with its well-proportioned compact
body and purposeful stance. Its distinctive
silhouette and beautifully sculpted surfaces
all combine to create a vehicle that truly
connects on an emotional level.

New Discovery Sport is ready for anything.
Characteristic design cues complement
perfectly balanced proportions. Strong
dynamic lines and robust detailing signal
the New Discovery Sport incredible breadth
of capability.

Signature features include a clamshell
hood and distinctive two-bar grille with
hexagonal mesh.

The fast hood line with a pronounced step into
the rising belt line conveys a dramatic stance,
while the roof tapers subtly downwards,
adding extra dynamism.

The desirability of the exterior design
continues into the cabin with bold horizontal
and vertical lines. Complemented by clean
surfaces, superb finishes and optional
premium leathers to promote what is a
highly versatile package. Inside and outside
seamlessly blend into a vehicle that clearly
communicates its Discovery DNA, while firmly
looking forward.

This spirit of adventure is reflected in the
New Discovery Sport interior, which has
been designed with you at its core.

It features high-quality materials and a strong
vertical center console graphic to reflect the
premium design of the exterior.

The cabin is integrated with up to four 12V
power points and six USB charging sockets.
These can be specified for all three rows of
seating, allowing multiple electronic devices
to be charged simultaneously.

New Discovery Sport offers exemplary levels
of comfort and outstanding versatility. The
second row is extremely spacious and flexible
with the seats able to slide back and forth by

The optional third row, with its simple,
single-handed 50:50 deployment, has
been cleverly incorporated to avoid any
compromizes to the vehicle’s exterior design,
while maintaining passenger comfort.

By folding down the third row, a flat

whatever you want to carry, you can relax.

New Discovery Sport has been designed
and engineered to meet any challenge.

The vehicle has the option of flexible seating
which, when stored flat, gives a load floor that
is as long as Range Rover and a maximum
loadspace of 62.8 cubic feet.

Even while carrying five passengers, the
loadspace is still an impressive 34.6 cubic feet.
New Discovery Sport can handle bulkier loads
with consummate ease when the second and
third row are folded flat. Such flexibility helps
make carrying family, friends and all their gear
that much easier.

TERRAIN RESPONSE

Land Rover has always been synonymous
with capability and the New Discovery Sport
lives up to even the most demanding
expectations. Confident and responsive,
the drive is further enhanced by a generous
wheel articulation and innovative off-road
technologies such as Terrain Response

This feature adapts to the responses of the
vehicle’s engine, gearbox, differentials and
chassis systems to maximize driveability,
comfort and traction.

There are four standard Terrain Response
settings: General Driving, Grass/Gravel/Snow,
Mud & Ruts and Sand. So, the vehicle feels
sure-footed no matter what the terrain.

HILL DESCENT
CONTROL (HDC®)

New Discovery Sport bursts with
technologies* that enhance the vehicle’s
performance and capabilities. One such
feature is the Land Rover patented Hill
Descent Control (HDC
controlled descents of difficult slopes by
maintaining a constant speed and applying
braking separately to each wheel.

Hill Start Assist ensures you don’t roll
backwards as you pull away on an incline*.
The vehicle also utilizes Gradient Release
Control which is designed to prevent the
vehicle ‘running away’ on a steep incline when
the driver inadvertently releases the brake*.

TOWING AND DRIVING AIDS

With a towing capacity of up to 4,400lb
and by incorporating tailored technologies,
New Discovery Sport can handle the most
demanding of tasks.

TRAILER STABILITY ASSIST

Trailer Stability Assist (TSA)* monitors the
vehicle to detect movements in the trailer and
then uses selective braking to help correct
potentially hazardous situations.

TOW HITCH ASSIST

Tow Hitch Assist* makes coupling a trailer to
the vehicle that much easier by helping you
visualize the hitching process; it displays the
predicted path of the vehicle towards the
trailer tow bar on the Touch-screen.

On the road, the Tow Assist feature helps
with reversing by predicting the trailer‘s
direction. You can even choose your trailer’s
width for precise guidelines displayed on
the Touch-screen.

COMFORT FOR ALL

CLIMATE FRONT SEATS

For the ultimate comfort whatever the
temperature, climate front seats are available.
This option provides both heated and cooled
ventilation through perforations in the leather
seats. The driver and passenger preferences
can be independently controlled via the
Touch-screen*.

HEATED REAR SEATS

For added comfort vehicles can be specified
with optional heated second row seats.

CONFIGURABLE MOOD
LIGHTING

New levels of ambient refinement and
personalization have been reached with
the option of Configurable Mood Lighting.
Using a combination of colored LEDs, this
feature allows you to vary the shade, changing
the ambience of the cabin to suit your mood.
There are five colors in total, ranging from
white through to moonlight and red.

PANORAMIC ROOF

The optional full glass fixed panoramic roof
enhances the sense of space in the vehicle’s
interior and floods it with natural light as
well as providing uninterrupted views of the
surrounding environment.

To maintain a comfortable interior
temperature and to provide a sense of
privacy, the toughened glass has a dark tint
to offer a high degree of solar protection.
When additional shade or privacy is required,
an electric fabric sunblind can be extended
across the full surface of the glass roof.

POWERED TAILGATE

This optional feature allows the tailgate to
be opened using the key fob, a switch on
the facia or operated independently using
a button on the tailgate itself. A button
located inside the tailgate allows the
tailgate to be closed automatically.

or smartphone while you’re on the move?
New Discovery Sport has the option
of six charging USB ports throughout all
rows, to make charging your device

INCONTROL TOUCH

InControl Touch™ is the command center for a wealth of features designed to make your
driving experience more entertaining. It features a contemporary and fresh graphical design
displayed on an eight-inch Touch-screen*.

It is the central hub from where you can connect and control your chosen entertainment and
media. You can therefore enjoy an unimaginable amount of music and imagery all within one
simple to use system. The ability to connect your smartphone via Bluetooth

It is the interface where you can control the ambient lighting to suit your mood and preference,
by varying the color and brightness level. The system also controls the air flow distribution
within the car and allows you to operate the climate seats. In addition, the system also offers a

emergency, the SOS Emergency call notifies
the emergency services of the location of
your vehicle.

INCONTROL REMOTE™

InControl Remote™ is an app available on
Android™ and iPhone
interact with your vehicle remotely. InControl
Remote not only provides basic information
with the use of a remote it also enables you
to communicate with your vehicle. You are
able to lock/unlock your vehicle, cool/heat
your vehicle to the desired temperature prior
to your journey and set a ‘beep and flash’
in order to locate your vehicle in a crowded
car park.**

The InControl Remote App ensures you are
fully prepared for your journey by displaying
the fuel level and location of your vehicle.
Remote also gives you vital information on
fluid levels and whether your vehicle is locked
or any doors or windows are open. You are
also able to download your journeys to assist
in reviewing mileage.

NINE-SPEED AUTOMATIC

New Discovery Sport paired with a state-of­the-art nine-speed automatic gearbox with
an innovative adaptive shifting system which
matches the driver's mood within seconds.
One of the most efficient and technically
advanced transmissions used in a production
vehicle, its controls include rotary gearshift
and steering wheel-mounted
paddle-shift as standard.

Nine gears deliver improvement in fuel
economy and a corresponding reduction

2.0 LITER TURBOCHARGED I-4

New Discovery Sport gas models feature a
turbocharged 240PS 2.0 liter turbocharged I-4
engine, combining six-cylinder refinement and
performance with four-cylinder fuel economy.
Twinned with a nine-speed automatic gearbox,
the turbocharged I-4 delivers 0-60mph in 7.8
seconds with a top speed of 124mph.

This lightweight engine combines three
key powertrain technologies – advanced
low-inertia turbocharging, high-pressure
direct fuel injection and twin variable valve
timing. Together, they provide outstanding
driveability, with very strong bottom-end
performance and an extremely broad
power band.

BODY

New Discovery Sport features a strong,
lightweight body structure which has been
developed using advanced, weight saving
materials to deliver stiffness and refinement
together with crash performance.

The structure is based on a steel monocoque
foundation which is derived from the
Land Rover compact SUV platform.

Lightweight technologies are used
extensively in the body design including
an optimized steel body construction,
aluminum hood, roof and tailgate
panels, lightweight aluminum suspension
components, magnesium cross car beam
and front end carrier.

CHASSIS AND VEHICLE
DYNAMICS

New Discovery Sport has an advanced new
fully independent suspension system that
has been specially developed by Land Rover
engineers to deliver agile and refined on-road
dynamics along with the brand’s legendary
all-terrain capability. Lightweight aluminum
chassis components are used extensively on
New Discovery Sport to improve suspension
performance by increasing stiffness and
reducing unsprung weight, while also
reducing total vehicle weight.

FRONT SUSPENSION

Aluminum components are used within the
front suspension, including the front lower
control arm and suspension knuckle. The front
suspension struts have advanced hydraulic
rebound stops, which help to manage the
noise and loads caused by severe impacts
such as speed bumps to maintain composure
in urban and off-road environments.

COMPACT REAR
SUSPENSION DESIGN

New Discovery Sport has a fully independent
suspension system that combines front
coil-sprung struts with an advanced new
multi-link rear suspension design. This
delivers enhanced dynamics and refinement
together with a compact layout to provide
increased interior space.

The system has been specifically developed
to enhance the New Discovery Sport
unrivalled breadth of capability, offering
responsive and agile handling together
with supreme ride quality and refinement.
Excellent wheel travel and articulation
helps the vehicle achieve class-leading
off-road performance.

The compact aluminum multi-link layout
also creates a much more spacious rear
compartment, with enhanced shoulder
and elbow room, the option of 5+2 seating
and increased luggage space.

Mounted on an optimized steel subframe,
the system is light and stiff for optimum
steering response, chassis performance
and refinement.

LANE DEPARTURE WARNING

A forward-facing camera mounted ahead of the rear view
mirror monitors the lane markings on both sides of the vehicle
and is designed to give the driver a warning should the driver
drift out of the lane without the indicators being triggered.
The alert comes in the form of a discrete vibration through

EMERGENCY BRAKING

This system helps further enhance the active safety aspects
of New Discovery Sport. Using a forward-facing digital
camera, it detects static vehicles and vehicles travelling in the
same direction and automatically reduces impact speed if it
calculates that a collision is likely. The driver is alerted of the
risk by a visual and audible warning signal.

REVERSE TRAFFIC DETECTION†

Activated while reversing, this optional system works by
informing the driver in the event of a vehicle approaching
from either side which may present a hazard, with both
audible and visual warnings.

PARALLEL PARK AND PERPENDICULAR
PARKING

Optional Parallel Park is designed to identify suitable parking
spaces and to automatically steer into the space while you
operate the pedals.

Perpendicular Park is an optional addition to the system.
Truly useful in parking lots and tight spaces, it automatically
assesses whether the chosen space is wide enough before
steering the vehicle centrally into place.

ADAPTIVE XENON HEADLAMPS

With their signature design, these optional distinctive LED
lights combine distinctive looks with real capability. Adaptive
Xenon lights swivel to follow the road while static bending
lamps follow the curb to give the driver greater confidence
at night.

Sustainability is at the heart of everything
we do and consequently all powertrains on
New Discovery Sport have been developed
to enhance sustainability by minimizing fuel
consumption and CO

The gas engine features the latest high­pressure direct injection technology and
state-of-the-art low-friction designs which
have been carefully developed to minimize
frictional losses. While nine-speed automatic
transmissions is specified with the latest
low viscosity transmissions fluid to maximize
efficiency.

An advanced Intelligent Stop/Start system
is standard on automatic models which
automatically shuts down the engine in just
300 milliseconds when the car comes to
rest. This improves fuel economy and CO
emissions by between five and seven percent.

A smart regenerative charging electrical
system has also been introduced which
has an intelligent power management
system to prioritize charging when the car
is decelerating, capturing the wasted kinetic
energy and reducing the fuel demand of
the electrical system.

The ECO Data feature provides drivers with

Touch-screen to help them adopt more
economical driving habits.

OPTIMIZED AERODYNAMICS

With its more streamlined profile, New
Discovery Sport is the most aerodynamic
Land Rover vehicle yet, with an eight percent
reduction and a drag coefficient (Cd) of

0.36. New Discovery Sport also offers a
unique 18 inch alloy wheel for improved
aerodynamics.

LIGHTWEIGHT MATERIALS

To optimize vehicle performance and
efficiency, New Discovery Sport has been
developed using lightweight materials and
technologies. The vehicle has been designed
with key weight-saving technologies including
a steel body construction, aluminum
hood, roof and tailgate panels, lightweight
aluminum suspension components,
magnesium cross car beam
and front end carrier.

The four-wheel driveline components have
also been optimized for weight. The interior
has also been designed with efficiency in
mind, with enhanced seat structures which
use laser-welded high tensile steel.

The Luggage Retention Kit consists of a pack of attachments that fix into the
loadspace rails via a quick lock/quick release system to provide a flexible solution
for retaining items. The attachment pack includes a retractable strap with inertia
reel, telescopic rod and stowage bag.
