BRUSH AGITATOR KIT FOR BRILLION SEEDERS

Brush Agitators are installed in Brillion SST-144 seeders as follows. First
remove the wire cage agitators by taking out the cotter pins which hold the
cages and shaft in place. Remove the covers over the drive chains at each
end of the machine. Loosen the outer plates and the bearings on each side,
then loosen the two square-bore sprockets on each side and slide out to the two
5/8” square shafts.
Notice the drawing above. The brush agitators must be installed with careful attention to the direction of shaft rotation. The brushes must face backwards away from rotation so as to wipe over the seed openings. Serious
damage will result if this is not properly done. Washer with square holes
are included in the kit for use as spacers to center the brush assemblies between the box bearings.
With the brush agitators properly seated and spaced, slide the 5/8” square
shafts back into place. The two cotter pins are not used in reassembly.
Then reassemble the drives on each end of the machine. Read your operator’s manual for instructions on how to reassemble the drives.
Apply the enclosed caution decal to the front of the seedbox to warn the operator about the damage which could be done to the machine by backing up
without raising the machine into transport position.
