Notes and Corrections
The following notes and corrections be applied to IF-102 Internet Fax Kit
User’s manual. Numbers in ( ) show related page number(s).
ITU-T Compliance
(p2, p3, p41, p66)
IF-102 internet facsimile operates in T.37 Simple Mode.
Compression methods used are MH for transmission and MH, MR, MMR and
JBIG for reception.
TIFF-F should read TIFF explained for scanning functions.
Restrictions on Internet Fax Transmission
(p25, p29)
Transmission to internet facsimile or e-mail address has restrictions on original
size and resolution as follows:
Size: Maximum A4. Originals larger than A4 are reduced to A4 before
transmission.
Resolution: Only Normal (203 x 98 dpi) and Fine (203 x 196 dpi) are
applicable. User can select S-Fine, but originals are scanned in Fine.
Restrictions on Broadcasting to Internet Fax and PSTN Fax
(p36)
When both internet facsimile (e-mail address) and PSTN facsimile (telephone
number) are set in broadcasting, the above restrictions on size and resolution
are valid for PSTN facsimile.
Restrictions on Forwarding
(p61)
When forwarding function is set to ON and an internet facsimile (e-mail
address) is set as a destination of forwarding, receiving is done in the following
conditions:
Size: Maximum A4.
Resolution: Only Normal (203 x 98 dpi) and Fine (203 x 196 dpi) are
applicable.
Coding: MH only.
Relay transmission or mailbox reception is set simultaneously with forwarding
function, the restriction is applied on relay transmission and mailbox reception.
Restrictions on Relay Transmission
Relay transmission to internet facsimile (e-mail address) is not allowed.
Registration of e-mail address is rejected with an attention message.
If one-touch dial including internet facsimile(s) and PSTN facsimile(s) is
specified for relay transmission destination, internet facsimile(s) are skipped
and relay transmission is made only to PSTN facsimile(s).
