KI SERIES PERMANENT INSTALL SPEAKERS

When Paul W. Klipsch introduced speakers such as the Klipschorn®, LaScala®, Heresy® and Cornwall to the world, they not only became popular for home audio enjoyment but were utilized in many permanent commercial installations such as houses of worship, schools, studios and music clubs - due to their clean, high output/ low-distortion sound signatures. Today, our new KI line of Permanent Installation speakers is built not only to the Klipsch standards of high efficiency and low distortion but to address the specific needs and performance standards of the commercial industry with rock-solid reliability.

Tractrix® Horn-loaded Titanium compression drivers deliver detailed high and midrange frequencies in specifically controlled patterns. Woofers with large motor structures provide tight, musical-quality low frequencies. High current full-range passive crossovers allow high performance, while our exclusive

KLIP-Circuit driver protection provides day-in/day-out reliability. Multiple flypoint cabinets are built for both resonance-free response and years of premium performance with dado lock-joint and rabbet construction. And little to no added equalization is needed for a KI speaker’s prime sound quality to shine through.

KI Series low frequency systems are built to provide superior musical reinforcement and are capable of maximum driver excursion with very high output without undue stress on their drivers.

THE TRACTRIX® CURVE

Klipsch uses a modified Tractrix® equation horn geometry on its distributed audio speakers which gains the benefits of three distinct horn types and allows the sound wave to release from the horn with minimal reflections back into the horn. This, combined with the reduced depth of the Tractrix® horn in relation to others, further reduces distortion and improves frequency response and overall sound clarity, even at low background volumes.

The addition of ellipses or “mumps” molded into calculated areas of the Tractrix® horn on the KI-102-SMA-II, KI-172-SMA-II, KI-396-SMA-II and KI-362-SMA-II

KLIP-CIRCUIT DRIVER PROTECTION

To limit potential damage to high and mid-frequency drivers, all Klipsch KI Series speakers with internal fullrange, high-current passive crossovers feature the KLIP-circuit, a proprietary high-power overload system. When current to a driver is exceeded it changes its resistance to a high value and reduces the current to protect the driver from damage. When input is reduced it returns to normal and allows the driver to play again.

EASY ONE SCREWDRIVER INSTALLATION

Klipsch Compact Performance Series speakers allow you to attach the bracket to the wall or in the corner, push the speaker onto the first notch of the bracket, channel the wire to the front and attach, handset the desired speaker/bracket angle without additional tools, push the speaker to the last bracket notch and screw down the bracket. Not only a fast, up-front install but gives a clean, uniform look that essentially integrates the speaker and bracket together as one.
