TC DVR firmware upgrade
Warning If you upgrade to the new firmware then you cannot downgrade to the previous version. We would like to remind you that upgrading firmware on your own have some risks just like upgrading computer motherboard’s BIOS. In case any error introduced during the update process, the DVR will be bricked. It is no longer usable. Please be aware of this.
If you are aware of the situation, willing to bear the risk and insist to upgrade on your own. The updating procedure will take 7~9 minutes. Video will be turned off during upgrading process. Please do not turn off power or remove USB drive during upgrading process.
TC DVR will restart automatically after update is completed. Please note that we can not support for update failure.
There are three point you need to set up:
Firmware Upgrade Load Default Format HDD Video System Setup
1. Please check your TC DVR model number, then download your TC DVR’s firmware.

Please go to the URL and select your DVR model number to download firmware
2. When you select the WEB link, it will show the following picture. Please select “Save”
3. Download the file and save it to the desktop.
4. System will download TC DVR Firmware, select “Close” when finished.
5. Check desktop see if show “ ” data and use unpack tools to unpack.
6. Please copy unpacked folder to USB and check there is ” dvrupgrade” folder in USB
7. Please insert USB to TC DVR’s USB Port
8. In DVR menu, go to ”Main Manu”
9. Select ”SYSTEM”
10. Select ”MAINTAIN”
11. Select ”SYSTEM UPDATE”
12. DVR will show message “System Updating! Please Don’t power off DVR and don’t remove USB device!” means system upgrade is progressing
When TC DVR is updating firmware please do not power off DVR or remove USB drive. TC DVR video will turn off when updating firmware. TC DVR will needs 5-8 minutes to complete
firmware update.
When you hear “BEEP” sound from TC DVR it mean TC DVR firmware update is finished. Please remove USB drive after you hear “BEEP” sound and power off DVR.
TC DVR will be upgraded completely after finishing above steps.
1. In DVR menu, go to ”Main Manu”
2. Select ”SYSTEM”
Load Default
3. Select ”MAINTAIN”
4. Select ”Load Default”
After the device restart , it would finish load default process.
Format HDD
1. Select Main Menu”→ DEVICE”→ HDD
2. Select the hard disk drive that you want to format.
3. Click Format HDD.
4. An “All data will be deleted after formatting” warning message appears on the screen. Click
OK to proceed.
5. When the formatting process is complete, click OK.
After you click OK, the DVR will restar.
Video System Setup
After you finished the firmware upgrade , the video system will change to PAL. If your local video system is PAL, you can omit this step.
Otherwise , please follow the step to setting your video system.
1. In DVR menu, go to ”Main Manu”
2. Select ”SYSTEM”
3. Select ”VIDEO”
4. Please Check Video System is set to NTSC. If not , change "Video System" from PAL to NTSC
ClickApply
When you save the settings, please exit out of all the menus until you see the live cameras. At that point the device will tell you that it needs to restart. Click “OK”. After the device restarts your DVR will be ready to operate.
