free of charge if its finish is defective in material or

All warranty coverage is void if this product is ever

2.A service technician to instruct the user in correct

3. A service technician to clean or maintain this product.

4.Damage to or failure of this product if it is not
installed, operated or maintained according to the
all instructions supplied with the product.

5. Damage to or failure of this product resulting from
accident, abuse, misuse or use for other than its

intended purpose.

6. Damage to or failure of this product caused by the
use of detergents, cleaners, chemicals or utensils

other than those recommended in all instructions
supplied with the product.

7. Damage to or failure of parts or systems resulting from
unauthorized modifications made to this product.

Customer's sole and exclusive remedy under this

limited warranty shall be product repair as provided
herein. Implied warranties, including warranties of

1. Use this unit only in the manner intended by the
manufacturer. If you have questions, contact the

to prevent power from being switched on accidentally.
When the service disconnecting means cannot be

7. Do not use this range hood with any additional solid

state speed control device.

8. Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors.

9. To reduce the risk of fire, use only metal ductwork.

10. This unit must be grounded.

11. When applicable local recjulations comprise more
restrictive installation and/or certification requirements,

the aforementioned requirements prevail on those of
this document and the installer agrees to conform to

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF A RANGE TOP GREASE FIRE:

1. Never leave surface units unattended at high settings.
Boilovers cause smoking and greasy spiliovers that may

ignite. Heat oils slowly on low or medium settings.

2. Always turn hood ON when cooking at high heat or

when flambeincj food (i.e.: CrSpes Suzette, Cherries
Jubilee, Peppercorn Beef Flamb_).

3. Clean ventilating fans frequently. Grease should not
be allowed to accumulate on fan or filter.

4. Use proper pan size. Always use cookware appropriate

for the size of the surface element.

TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY TO PERSONS IN THE
EVENT OF A RANGE TOP GREASE FIRE, OBSERVE THE

FOLLOWINGS:

1. SMOTHER FLAMES with a close-fitting lid, cookie
sheet, or metal tray, then turn off: the burner. BE

CAREFUL TO PREVENT BURNS. If the flames do not
go out immediately, EVACUATE AND CALL THE FIRE

DEPARTMENT.

2. NEVER PICK UP A FLAMING PAN - You may be burned.

3. DO NOT USE WATER, including wet dishcloths or
towels - This could cause a violent steam explosion.

4. Use an extinguisher ONLY if:
A. You know you have a Class ABC extinguisher and

you already know how to operate it.

B. The fire is small and contained in the area where it

started.

C. The fire department is being called.

D. You can fight the fire with your back to an exit.

1. For indoor use only.

2. For general ventilating use only. Do not use to exhaust

hazardous or explosive materials and vapors.

3. To avoid motor bearing damage and noisy and/or
unbalanced impellers, keep drywall spray, construction

dust, etc. off: power unit.

4. Your hood motor has a thermal overload which
wiii automatically shut off: the motor if it becomes

overheated. The motor wiii restart when it cools down.

If the motor continues to shut off: and restart, have the
hood serviced.

5. For best capture of cooking impurities, the bottom of
the hood should be a minimum of 24" and a maximum

of 30" above the cooking surface.

6. To reduce the risk of fire and to properly exhaust air on
a ducted installation, be sure to duct air outside - Do

not exhaust air into spaces within wails or ceiling or

into attics, crawl spaces, or garage.

7. This product is equipped with a thermostat which

may start blower automatically. To reduce the risk
of injury and to prevent power from being switch on
accidentally, switch power off: at service panel and

lock or tag service panel.

8. Because of the high exhausting capacity of this hood,
you should make sure enough air is entering the house

to replace exhausted air by opening a window close
to or in the kitchen.

9. Use with approved cord-connection kit only.

10. Please read specification label on product for further
information and requirements.

Always turn ON your hood before you begin cooking in order
to establish an air flow in the kitchen. Let the blower run

for a few minutes to clear the air after you turn off the range.
This wil help keep the whole kitchen cleaner and brighter.

Impeller(s)
Remove the grease filters.

To remove the impeller(s), take off the cover by unlatching
both sides of the blower, then, remove impeller(s) by pulling

it (them) out. See pictures below.

WARMING LAMPS (Infrared)
Each warming lamp (not shown) is controlled with is own

ON/OFF switch (item 1 on picture above).
Use only 120 V, IR 175 W, PAR38, infrared bulbs.

COOKTOP LIGHTING (Halogen)
A double set of ON/OFF switches (item 3 on picture above)

control the halogen lights (item 2 on picture above).
The front rocker controls the center light (for 42" and 48"

hoods). The rear rocker controls both side lights (each
switch controls one light for 30" and 36" hood). Select

one, two, or three lights for best cooktop lighting.
Use PAR20, 50 W halogen bulbs. (Sears part no. 57853.)

BLOWER
The blower is operated using two controls.

Use the ON/OFF blower switch (item 4 on picture above)
to start and stop the blower. When turned on, the blower

will operate at the previous setting of the speed control
(item 5 on the picture above).

Turn the speed control knob clockwise to decrease blower
speed - counterclockwise to increase speed.

HEAT SENTRYTM
Your hood is equipped with a HEAT SENTRY thermostat.

This thermostat is a device that will turn on or speed up the
blower if it senses excessive heat above the cooking surface.

1) If blower is OFF - it turns blower ON to high speed.

2) If blower is ON at a lower speed setting - it turns blower
up to HIGH speed.

When the temperature level drops to normal, the blower
will return to its original setting.

start the blower even if the hood isturned OFF.
When this occurs, it is impossible to turn the

Mower OFF with the switch. If you must stop the
blower, do it from the main electrical panel.

Grease filters

The grease filters should be cleaned frequently. Use a
warm detergent solution.

Wash more often if your cooking style generates greater
grease - like frying foods or wok cooking.

Remove filters by pushing filters towards the back of hood
and rotating filters downward.

There is a tab on the interior ring of the wheel, maize sure
it fits into one of the holes on the motor (you will feel it

fall into position). Reinstall impeller(s) and coven

CAUTION: For dual blower unit, make sure

the impellers are correctly installed; the hood
will not work properly if the impellers are

reversed.

Both impellers are different in the dual blower, one rotates

clockwise and the other counterclockwise. Each wheel and
motor have an arrow and a number on them, you have to

match them correctly. See illustration below.

Hood Cleaning

Stainless steel cleaning: How to maintain its"BRIGHT LOOK"

Do:

- Regularly wash surfaces with clean cloth or rag soaked
with warm water and mild soap or liquid dish detergent.

- Always clean in the direction of original polish lines.

- Always rinse well with clear water (2 or 3 times) after
cleaning. Wipe dry completely.

- You may also use a specialized household stainless steel
cleaner.

Don't:

- Use any steel or stainless steel wool or any other
scrapers to remove stubborn dirt.

- Use any harsh or abrasive cleaners.

- Allow dirt to accumulate.

- Let plaster dust or any other construction residues reach
the hood. During construction/renovation, cover the

hood to maize sure no dust sticks to stainless steel surface.

Avoid: when choosing a detergent

- Any cleaners that contains bleach will attack stainless steel.

- Any products containing: chloride, fluoride, iodide,
bromide will deteriorate surfaces rapidly.

- Any combustible products used for cleaning such
as acetone, alcohol, ether, benzol, etc., are highly

explosive and should not be used close to a range.

Install proper-sized ductwork, transition(s), elbow(s), and

roof or wall cap for the type of blower you are using.
If using round ducts, use a transition.

For best results, use a minimum number of transition

A Backspiash is available (see page 5 for more details). This backspiash must be installed before the hood shell

because the hood shell covers the backspiash top mounting screws. Also, when the range control panel is higher than

the cooktop, make sure there is at least 18" (457 mm) clearance between the bottom of hood and the range control

panel. (Refer to instructions included with backspiash.)

1. Remove the knockout for the choosen opening
(horizontal or vertical) at the back or top of the hood

and for the electric connection. YOU MUST install the

Row Deviator if you choose the vertical exhaust. See
pictures beside.

2. Using two 1/2" screws, secure the adapter/damper to
the top or back of the hood.

NOTE: For vertical exhaust, make sure that the damper

pivot is located towards the front of the hood.

3. Tape the adapter/damper to the hood using metal foil
duct tape to seal it.

Run power cable to installation location. Place the hood

at its location. Using a pen, mark the position of the
screws (smaller part of the key holes). Remove the hood
and install the (8) 1/2" double thread screws leaving

a 1/8" gap (4 screws for 30" hood). Remove wiring
cover and set aside. Place the wire clamp, insert the

hood and tighten the wire clamp to secure the cable.
Place the hood under the cabinet and slide it in position.

Make sure the adapter enters the ductwork. Secure the

hood by tightening the screws completely.

_ WARNING: Risk of electrical shock. Electrlcal wiring must be done by qualified personnel in accordancewith all appllcable codes and standards. Before connecting wires, switch power off at service panel

and lock service disconnecting means to prevent power from being switched on accidentally.

1. Connect cable to wiring box using wire connectors.
Connect BLACK to BLACK, WHITE to WHITE, and

GREEN wire under second ground screw. Reinstall
wiring cover. DO NOT FORGET TO CONNECT THE

GROUND.

halogen light bulbs. Use PAR20, 50 W size (purchase

Mesh filters installation (for models: 54800 and 54810).
It is recommended to install side filters first and finish with center one(s).

Install as follows:

1) Insert upper end of filter into the hood (filter tab side).

2) Raise lower end toward the inside of hood.

3) Position rear part of filter into channel and pull.

4) Using filter tabs, puii on the upper end of filter and slide it under the front inner retaining piece.

_hb CAUTION: Remove protective plastic film covering filters before installlng them.

It is recommended to install side filters first and finish with center one(s).
Install as follows:

Make sure the filters are positioned as shown thus allowing the grease to reach the channel easily.
A verical arrow with the word AIR can be found on filter border; make sure to install the filter with the arrow aiming

toward the inside of the hood. See illustrations below.

PARA REDUCIR EL RIESGO DE QUE ARDA LA GRASA

PARA EVITAR EL RIESGO DE DAIqOS A PERSONAS EN

CASO DE FUEGO POR ALTO NiVEL DE GRASA, TENGA

1. Sofoque ia llama con una tapadera apropiada, una

5. Para que ia campana capte me]or ias impurezas que
se desprenden ai cocinar, ia base de ia campana ha de

estar a una distancia minima de 24", y a una m6xima de
30" con respecto a la superficie sabre ia que se cocina.

6. Para reducir los riescjos de incendio y extraer el aire
debidamente, el aire debe evacuarse fuera. No extraicja

eJaire a espacios situados entre ias paredes, en el techo
o en el desv6n, faiso techo o cjaraje.

VENTILADOR
Ei ventilador funciona con ia ayuda de dos controies.
Utilice ei interruptor endender/apacjar tiene una iuz roja

pare encender y apacjar ei ventilador. Cuando est6 en
tensi6n, ei ventilador funciona a ia velocidad utiiizada

ia 0itima vez.
Utiiice el control de velocidad dei ventilador cjirando en ei

HEAT SENTRYTM

Su campana esta equipida con HEAT SENTRY. Este
termostato tiene un mecanismo que se encender6 o

aceierar6 ei ventilador si se detecta un calor excesivo
encima de ia cocina.

1) Si ei ventilador esta apacjado - ei se pender6 a una
veiocidad m6xima.

2) Si ei ventilador esta encendiro a una velocidad minima

- ei se pender6 a una veiocidad m6xima.

Cuando la temperature disminuye a un nivei normal, ei
ventilador vueive a ia funci6n de oricjen.

Limpie frecuentemente los fiitros con acjua caiiente y un

Limpie m6s secjuido si su comida crea mucho cjrasa - coma

fritura o preparer ia comida con wok.
Empuje los fiitros hacia ei interior de ia campana y ieberelos

dei canal pare queen secjuida los retire de ia campana.

Rueda(s) del ventilador
La (s) rueda(s) del ventilador se pueden laver en el lavaplatos.
Quitar los filtros pare cjrasa a fin de que tener acceso

ai ia(s) rueda(s) dei ventilador. Pare sacar ias ruedas del

ventilador, usted debe retirar ia tape dei ventilador con

la ayuda de las amarras de cada lado. Luecjo , retire la(s)

Limpieza de la campana
Acero inoxidable: Coma mantener una "aparencia brillante"
Lo que debe hacer:

Laver recjulamente ia superficie con un trapo o un pa_o
empapado de acjua tibia y de jab6n suave o detercjente
a vajiiia.

Siempre iimpie en ei sentido de ias iineas oricjinales de
pulimento.

Siempre enjuacjue bien con acjua limpia (2 a 3 veces)
despu6s de haber limpiado seque completamente la
superficie.

Usted puede utilizer un limpiador domSstico hecho
especiaimente pare ei acero inoxidabie.

Lo que no debe hacer:

No utiiice nincjuna iana de acero o de acero inoxidabie
o todo otro raspador pare quitar ia suciedad tenaz.
No utilice nincj0n limpiador en polvo abrasivo o ricjuroso.
No deje la suciedad acumularse.
No deje el polvo de yeso o todo otro residuo de

se pecjue a ia superficie dei acero.

A evitar cuando elicje un detercjente:

Todos los productos de limpieza que contienen acjentes
de bianqueo; van a deteriorar ei acero inoxidabie.

Todos los productos que contienen cloruro, fluoruro, yoduro
o bromuro; estos deteriorans r6pidamente ias superficies.

Todos los productos combustible utilizados pare ia iimpieza:
acetone, alcohol, 8ter, benzol, etc...; son extremamente
expiosivos y no deben ser utilizados cerca de una cocina.

1.Paseia aiimentaci6neiSctricahastael iugarde ia
instalaci6ndeJacampana.Coloquela campana

en su posici6n. Con la ayuda de un J6piz, marque la

posici6n de los torniJlos (peque_a parte del hoyo en

forma de pera!; Retire la campana y instale los (8)
tornillos de 1/2 doble hilillo dejando un espacio de

1/8" (4 tornillos para la campana de 30"). Saque la
tapa de la caja el_ctrica y poner a un Jado. Inserte

el alambre el_cfrico. Pase el cable el_ctrico en la
campana y apriefe el tornillo del alambre el_ctrico en

la entrada de la campana para mantener los cables en

su posici6n. Coloque la campana deba]o del armario
(Jos tornillos pasan a trav_s de la parte cjrande de los

hoyos) y deslice la campana en su posici6n. Asecj(Jrese

que adaptador entre en eJ conducto. Atornille
complefamente los tornillos para que la campana se

mantecja en su posici6n.

ADVERTENCJA: PeJlgro de choque eJ_cfrico. La insfaJaci6n eJ_ctrlca debe ser hecha por personaJ
caiificado de acuerdo con todos los c6digos apiicabJes y normas. Anfes de efecfuar eJ empaJme,

cortar JaaJlmentaci6n eJ_cfrica deJinterrupfor y cerrar con seguridad para prevenir una aJlmentaci6n

accidental.

1. Connecte los cables a Ja caja el_ctrica utiJizando Jos
conectadores de cables. Connecte el cabJe NEGRO al

NEGRO, BLANCO al BLANCO y el VERDE a el torniJlo

que torna de tierra. Reempiace la tapa. JAMAS DEBE
OLVIDARSE DE CONECTAR LA TOMA DE TIERRA.
