SPACE Aseptic Filler (Spout-less, Pouch, Automatic, Compact,
& Ecological) is the latest edition to JBT’s range of aseptic filling
solutions.
SPACE Aseptic Filler at a glance
• Spout-less: aseptic filling with bag-in-box technologies
is currently limited to liquid product applications, due to the
small 1" spout aperture. Now by removing the spout from the
pouches, the opening size has been increased to fill particulate
aseptically as well.
• Pouch: pouches can be filled in the institutional food service
size range between 3 and 10 liters (0.8 - 2.6 gal). The pouch
opening is wide (equivalent to 2" spout), thus enabling the
filling of products with particulates aseptically at a lower cost
for small bags.
• Aseptic: the advantages of aseptic processing in terms
of reduced processing time, longer shelf life and improved
quality have been known to the industry for many years. Now
this technology can be applied profitably to the institutional
package sizes with significant savings in package cost and the
capability to process particulates.
• Compact: unlike competitive technologies, the machine is
extremely compact. This is achieved through the reduction of
the aseptic zone (this zone is limited only to the filling chamber).
The benefit of a small Aseptic zone means less critical control
points, simpler operation and minimum floor area required.
• Ecological: elimination of the spout permits significant savings
in the use of plastic packaging material, and thus results in a
more environmental friendly operation. The reduction of the
aseptic area also reduces the use of chemical disinfectant
during operation with further savings.
Description
Pre-formed, pre-sterilized aseptic pouches are fed in a web
arrangement to the SPACE Aseptic Filler. The filler automatically
separates the web pouches to obtain an individual pouch, which
is externally sterilized with a disinfectant, fed to the aseptic area,
opened, filled with a flow meter and sealed.
CIP, sterilization and normal operation are completely automatic
and PLC controlled.
Pouches of customized dimensions and customized material
can be used on the SPACE Aseptic Filler in order to match the
market and product needs.
With high-temperature pre-sterilization and chemical disinfection
both high-acid and low-acid foods can be filled. Examples: fruit
purees, tomato sauce, ketchup, creams, mushroom, pesto,
flavoured milk, dairy products, teas.
The capability of filling particulates eliminates the cumbersome
and labor-intensive installation of hot and cold filling operations
for the advantages of aseptic processing.
The compact execution is perfectly suited for a fast,
play installation.
