Su nuevo KOOS de JANÉ es una silla de seguridad diseñada para proteger al bebé en el automóvil desde su nacimiento hasta aproximadamente 1 año y medio de edad (hasta 13 Kg. de peso).

KOOS ha superado las exigentes pruebas de seguridad de la Regulación Europea ECE 44 /04 para grupo 0+.

Cuando se instala con cinturones de seguridad de 3 puntos, KOOS es compatible con la mayoría de los asientos de automóviles. No obstante, cuando el fabricante del automóvil maniﬁesta que los asientos están previstos para la instalación de sillas del tipo “Universal”, la compatibilidad es total.

Usted también puede utilizar su KOOS con cualquiera de los chasis de JANÉ que disponga del sistema PRO-FIX.

INSTRUCCIONES GENERALES

Con el ﬁn de proteger adecuadamente al bebé y, asegurar su confort y sujeción dentro del automóvil será necesario que respete las siguientes instrucciones:

Su silla de seguridad KOOS puede ser instalada tanto en el asiento delantero, si no lleva Air-Bag, como en el trasero de su automóvil. De todas formas, se aconseja instalarla en los asientos traseros. Si la sitúa en el asiento delantero del automóvil, éste NO debe tener AIR-BAG o debe estar desconectado.

Es válido sólo para automóviles dotados con cinturones automáticos de tres puntos de anclaje, homologados según el Reglamento ECE-16 u otras normas equivalentes. NO usar con un cinturón de dos puntos de anclaje.

No todos los sistemas de seguridad son exactamente iguales, por lo que aconsejamos que compruebe su KOOS en el automóvil que vaya a ser montado.

Es muy importante no utilizar productos de segunda mano, ya que JANÉ sólo puede garantizar la total seguridad en artículos usados por su primer comprador.

JANÉ recomienda sustituir su silla de seguridad KOOS por una nueva cuando haya sido sometida a violentas tensiones después de un accidente.

Compruebe que todos los cinturones están en su correcta posición y debidamente ajustados a su KOOS. Vigile que ningún cinturón esté enroscado.

Para el correcto desarrollo de su bebé aconsejamos no abusar de la silla de segu ridad con prolong ado s viaje s, déjel o reposar frecu ent emente en un capazo o cama debidamente estirado.

KOOS

Su silla de seguridad KOOS ha sido diseñada teniendo en cuenta los últimos avances en materia de seguridad y ha sido testada en las condiciones más duras. Dispone de las siguientes prestaciones:

Instalación en el vehículo:

•Bloqueo del cinturón del automóvil que permite el tensado de la silla para más estabilidad.

•Carcasa preparada para instalar sobre una base con sistema ISOﬁx (accesorio opcional). Instale la silla en su automóvil con una simple presión sin necesidad de pasar cinturones.

Comodidad y seguridad para el bebé:

•Arnés integrado de 3 puntos.

•Aireación en la carcasa para facilitar la transpiración.

•Material absorbente de impactos en toda la superﬁcie en contacto con el bebé.

Comodidad para los padres:

•Anclajes Pro-Fix compatible con todos los chasis de JANÉ.

•Asa de transporte con 4 posiciones.

•Tapicería desenfundable y lavable.

Ajuste de la altura de los cinturones de hombros

Los cinturones de hombros de la silla de seguridad KOOS, para que ofrezcan la máxima protección, deben estar regulados justo por encima de los hombros del bebé. Compruebe esta altura con el bebé correctamente sentado en la silla de seguridad.

KOOS dispone de 3 alturas para las cintas de hombros. Para cam-

biar de posición, abra la tapa del compartimento trasero.

corresponda a la altura de su bebé.

ATENCIÓN Compruebe y ajuste la altura de los cinturones de hombros a medida que el bebé crezca.

Cambiar la posición del asa

El asa dispone de 4 posiciones (2c), cada una de ellas tiene una función especíﬁca: Posición 1: Estabilidad, el asa evita el balanceo cuando el portabebés está sobre una superﬁcie plana. Posición 2: Posición intermedia. En esta posición el asa queda integrada con la carcasa. Posición 3: Transporte. Posición para instalar y quitar la silla en un chasis de JANÉ o la base ISOﬁx y para transporte.

Posición 4: AUTO. Posición antivuelco cuando viaja en el automóvil.

Para cambiar de posición, presione ambos pulsadores (10) sobre la empuñadura (2d) y gire el asa hasta la posición deseada.

Elección de la plaza donde instalar la silla de seguridad

Una correcta elección de la ubicación de la Silla de seguridad dentro del automóvil, reducirá el riesgo de lesiones de su bebé en caso de accidente.

Siempre que sea posible, instale la silla de seguridad en las plazas traseras. Es muy aconsejable que un acompañante viaje sentado al lado para atender a las necesidades del bebé. De las tres plazas traseras la central es la más segura.

Si viaja solo /a con su bebé, es conveniente tenerlo a la vista sin distraerse de la conducción, sitúelo en el asiento del copiloto, siempre y cuando éste NO disponga de Air-bag o ESTÉ DESCONECTADO. No se despiste de la conducción por ningún motivo, para atender al bebé, detenga completamente el vehículo en un lugar seguro.

Idoneidad de la plaza elegida para instalar KOOS

Los reglamentos europeos deﬁnen los parámetros de compatibilidad entre silla de seguridad y automóvil, no obstante debe comprobar algunas cosas cuando instale por primera vez:

1 Las hebillas del cinturón de seguridad no deben apoyarse sobre aristas rígidas, en caso de accidente se reduce su resistencia. Compruebe con el KOOS en su vehículo, que la hebilla no está apoyándose en la esquina del portabebés. En caso de dudas consulte con el fabricante de su automóvil.

2 Si el cinturón es corto: a. En la mayoría de automóviles se puede regular la altura del cinturón

de hombros, ajústela a la posición más baja.

b. Si el asiento se puede desplazar, retráselo.

Instalación del bebé en la silla de seguridad

KOOS

La silla de seguridad KOOS se debe instalar en el SENTIDO CONTRARIO A LA MARCHA. Decida en qué asiento después de leer el apartado “Elección de la plaza donde instalar la silla de seguridad”.

Para instalar la silla siga minuciosamente los siguientes pasos:

Colocar la silla en el asiento del automóvil.

3b -

Pase la hebilla del cinturón del automóvil por encima de los pies del bebé y abróchela.

3c -

Introduzca la parte abdominal del cinturón del automóvil por las ranuras (1) en los laterales de la carcasa.

3d -

La parte del cinturón de hombros del automóvil la debe pasar por detrás de la silla.

3e -

Gire el asa (6) hasta la posición de AUTO, la posición más avanzada. El símbolo del coche en los laterales del asa debe quedar completo.

3f -

Tense el cinturón del automóvil y cierre la pinza de bloqueo (2). Asegúrese que la silla está sólidamente anclada tirando de ella.

ATENCIÓN : Los pasos correctos del cinturón de seguridad, en sillas de seguridad instaladas en sentido contrario de la marcha, se diferencian sobre el chasis por ser de color azul. NO usar cualquier paso que no esté descrito en estas instrucciones ni los que en el portabebés no sean de color azul.

Si instala la silla con la opción de base ISOﬁx (opcional) siga las instrucciones que encontrará en la base.

4a -

Aﬂoje el arnés tirando de las cintas de hombros mientras presiona el botón tensor (8).

4b -

Desabroche la hebilla.

4c -

Coloque al bebé en la silla de seguridad asegurando que está sentado en el fondo y con la espalda erguida. Junte los extremos superiores de las hebillas.

4d -

Introdúzcalos en el cierre y presione hasta oír un clic.

4e -

Tense las cintas de hombros y tire de la cinta tensora (7).

Instalación de KOOS en un cochecito

Su porta bebés KOOS puede anclarse en cualquier chasis de JANÉ que disponga del sistema PRO-FIX.

Para ﬁjar la silla de seguridad en un chasis, inserte los acoples en

las cavidades del chasis y presione hasta oír un clic.

5b -

Para liberar su KOOS del chasis, tire de ambos pulsadores en los laterales del asa (9) y llévese la silla hacia arriba.

ATENCIÓN

No deje nunca al bebé solo.

Cualquier alteración o adición al dispositivo sin la oportuna autorización de JANÉ puede alterar gravemente la seguridad del sistema de retención.

Leer estas instrucciones detenidamente antes de usarlo y conservarlas para ref erencia futura. La seguridad del niño puede ve rse afe c tada si no se siguen estas instrucciones.

Este dispositivo de seguridad no puede ser usado sin su tapizado, ni ser reemplazado por otro que no sea el original, ya que éste forma parte integrante de las características de seguridad del sistema.

Nunca añadir un colchón, almohada o relleno extra para mayor comodidad del niño ya que modiﬁcaría las características de seguridad del sistema.

Compruebe que la silla ha sido colocada correctamente. Asegúrese que el cinturón no ha quedado atrapado entre los asientos abatibles o puertas.

RECOMENDACIONES

Guarde este libro de instrucciones para futuras consultas. Llévelo siempre en el compartimiento porta objetos situado detrás de la silla de seguridad.

Asegúrese de que dentro del automóvil, tanto el equipaje como cualquier otro objeto susceptible de causar daños en caso de accidente estén debidamente ﬁjados o resguardados.

La silla de seguridad KOOS deberá estar ﬁjada debidamente con los cinturones de seguridad o la base ISOﬁx, aunque no se esté utilizando, ya que en caso de accident e podría re sultar despedida pr ovocando daños a los ocupantes del vehículo.

Recuerde no usar la silla de seguridad KOOS en automóviles dotados de air-bag frontal, a no ser que pueda ser desconectado o desactivado, caso que deberá consultar con el fabricante o comercio vendedor de su automóvil.

MANTENIMIENTO

No exponga el tapizado al sol durante largos periodos, mientras la silla no esté en uso cúbrala o guárdela en el compartimiento porta equipajes.

Lave las partes de plástico con agua templada y jabón, secando posteriormente todos los componentes concienzudamente. El tapizado puede desmontarse para ser lavado. Siga las siguientes instrucciones:

Primero quite los broches en los laterales y retire el elástico alrededor de los pasos delanteros del cinturón. Desenfunde el tejido alrededor del portabebés. Seguidamente, pase la hebilla por el ojal entrepiernas y retire los cinturones de hombros de los ojales en la espalda. Por último, desenfunde el tapizado del área del botón del tensor.

Lavar a mano y con una temperatura nunca superior a 30ºC.

Para montar de nuevo la tapicería siga los mismos pasos a la inversa.

Tanto para su seguridad como para la buena conservación de este producto, es importante que haga una revisión periódica en cualquiera de nuestros talleres oﬁciales.

INFORMACIÓN SOBRE LA GARANTÍA

Este artículo dispone de garantía según lo estipulado en la ley 23 / 2003 de 10 de julio. Conservar la factura de compra, es imprescindible su presentación en la tienda donde adquirío el producto para justiﬁcar su validez ante cualquier reclamación.

Quedan excluídos de la presente garantía aquellos defectos o averías producidas por un uso inadecuado del artículo o el incumplimiento de las normas de seguridad y mantenimiento descritas en las hojas de instrucciones y en las etiquetas de lavado, así como los elementos de desgaste por uso normal y manejo diario.

La etiqueta que contiene el número de chasis de su modelo, no debe ser arrancada bajo ningún concepto, contiene información importante.

Your new KOOS by JANÉ is a safety seat designed to protect your baby in the car from birth until they are approximately 1 1/2 years old (up to 13 kg in weight).

KOOS has passed the strict safety tests of European Regulation ECE44 /04 for the 0+ group.

When it is installed with a 3-point seat belt, KOOS is compatible with the majority of vehicle seats. However, when the car manufacturer states that car seats can take “Universal” type seats, they are totally compatible.

You can also use your KOOS with any JANÉ chassis that has the PRO-FIX system.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

In order to protect your baby adequately and to ensure their comfort and stability in the car, the following instructions must be strictly followed:

Your KOOS safety seat can be installed in both the front seat, if it does not have an airbag, and in the back seat of your car. Either way, we advise you to install it in the back seat. If you position it in the front seat of the car, this must NOT have an AIRBAG, or the airbag must be disconnected.

It is only sui table for cars ﬁtte d with thre e anchoring point automa tic belts, approved according to Regulation ECE-16 or other equivalent rules. DO NOT use with a two anchoring point belt.

Not all safety systems are exactly the same, so we advise that you check your KOOS in the car in which it is going to be ﬁtted.

It is very important not to use second-hand products, as JANÉ can only guarantee complete safety with items used by their ﬁrst buyer.

JANÉ recommends that you replace your KOOS safety seat with a new one if it has been subjected to violent stresses in an accident.

Check that all the straps are in the correct position and duly adjusted to your KOOS. Make sure that none of the straps are twisted.

For your baby’s proper development, we advise you not to over-use the safety seat in the seated position on long journeys. Let the baby rest frequently in a Moses basket or bed in the reclining position.

Your KOOS safety seat has been designed with the latest safety developments in mind and has been tested under the toughest conditions. It has the following features:

Installation in cars:

•Car seat belt locking feature that enables the seat to be tightened for greater stability

•Chassis ready for installation on a base with ISOﬁx system (optional). Install the seat in your car with a simple click and no need to thread seat belts through.

Comfort and safety for your baby:

•Integrated 3-point harness.

•Ventilation in the chassis making it breathable.

•Impact-absorbent material on the entire surface that comes into contact with the baby.

Comfort for the parents:

•Pro-Fix fastenings compatible with all JANÉ types of chassis.

•4-position carry handle.

•Removable and washable upholstery.

Adjusting the height of the shoulder straps

To ensure that they offer maximum protection, the shoulder straps on the KOOS safety seat must be set just above the baby’s shoulders. Check this height with the baby seated correctly in the safety seat.

Take the straps out of the current slot and pass them through the correct one for your baby’s height.

WARNING Check and adjust the height of the shoulder straps as the baby grows.

Changing the position of the handle

The handle has 4 positions (2c), each of which has a speciﬁc function: Position 1: Stability. The handle prevents the baby carrier from rocking when it is on a ﬂat surface. Position 2: Intermediate position. In this position, the handle is integrated into the casing. Position 3: Carrying. The position for ﬁtting and removing the seat on and off a JANÉ chassis or the ISOﬁx base and for carrying.

Position 4: AUTO. Non-rollover position when travelling in the car.

To change the position, press both buttons (10) on the handle (2d) and turn the handle to the required position.

Choosing where to install the safety seat

Choosing the right place where you want to install the safety seat in the car will reduce the risk of injury to your baby in the event of an accident.

As far as possible, install the safety seat on the back seats. We strongly recommend that the baby is accompanied by someone sitting next to them to take care of their every need. Of the three back seats, the middle one is the safest.

If you are travelling alone with your baby, it is good if you can see them without having to take your eyes off the road. Put them in the passenger seat providing that it is NOT ﬁtted with an Air-Bag or IT IS DISCONNECTED. Under no circumstances allow yourself to be distracted from the road to see to your baby. Stop the car in a safe place.

Suitability of the place chosen for installing the KOOS

European standards establish the compatibility parameters between safety seats and vehicles, however, you do need to check a few things before installing the safety seat for the ﬁrst time:

1 The seat belt buckles should not be resting on hard edges, as in the event of an accident this will decrease their resistance. With the KOOS in your vehicle check that the buckle does not rest on the corner of the baby carrier. If in doubt, consult your vehicle manufacturer.

2 If the seat belt is short: a. In most vehicles, the height of the shoulder belt can be adjusted,

adjust it to the lowest position.

b. If the vehicle seat can be moved, move it backwards.

KOOS

The KOOS safety seat must be installed FACING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION IN WHICH THE CAR IS TRAVELLING. Decide on the seat after reading the “Choosing where to install the safety seat” section.

To install the seat carefully follow the steps below:

Position the safety seat on the vehicle seat.

3b -

Pass the seat belt buckle over the baby’s feet and fasten it.

3c -

Insert the abdominal part of the seat belt through the slots (1) on the sides of the frame.

3d -

The shoulder part of the vehicle seat belt should be passed behind the safety seat.

3e -

Turn the handle (6) to the AUTO position, the furthest forward. The full car symbol should be displayed on the sides of the handle.

3f -

Tighten the car seat belt and fasten the locking clip (2). Make sure that the safety seat is securely anchored by pulling it.

WARNING: For installing rear facing safety seats, the correct guides for ﬁtting the seat belt are marked on the chassis in blue. DO NOT use any guide that is not described in these instructions or any on the baby carrier that are not coloured blue.

If the safety seat is installed with the ISOﬁx base (optional), follow the instructions on the base.

Loosen the harness by puling on the shoulder straps while pressing the tightener button (8).

4b -

Undo the clasp.

4c -

Put the baby in the safety seat, making sure that they are sitting back in it and that their back is straight. Join the top ends of the clasps.

4d -

Insert them in the fastener and press until you hear a click.

4e -

Tighten the shoulder straps and pull the tightener strap (7).

Installing KOOS in a pushchair

Your KOOS carrycot can be fastened to any JANÉ chassis that has the PRO-FIX system.

To fasten the safety seat to a chassis, insert the connections in the

cavities on the chassis and press until you hear a click.

5b -

To release the KOOS from the chassis, pull both buttons on the sides of the handle (9) and lift the seat

WARNING

Never leave your baby on their own.

Any changes or additions to the KOOS without the correct authorisation from JANÉ may seriously affect the safety of the restraining system.

Read these in str uction s caref ully be fore us e and kee p them fo r future reference. Your child’s safety may be affected if you do not follow these instructions.

This safety device cannot be used without its cover, or replaced with one that is not the original, as it is an integral part of the system’s safety features.

Never add a mattress pad, pillow or extra padding to make it more comfortable for the child as this will alter the safety characteristics of the system.

Check that the seat has been positioned correctly. Make sure that the seat belt is not trapped between the folding seats or doors.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Keep this instruction book for future reference. Always keep it in its compartment under the safety seat.

Make sure that inside the car, luggage and any other object likely to cause harm in an accident are correctly fastened or stored.

The KOOS safety seat must be fastened correctly with the seat belts or ISOﬁx base, even if it is not in use, as it could be thrown around in an accident and harm the occupants of the car.

Remember not to use the KOOS safety seat in cars ﬁtted with front air-bags, unless they can be disconnected or deactivated. You will need to check this with the car manufacturer or seller.

MAINTENANCE

Do not expose the cover to extended periods of sunlight. While the seat is not in use, cover it or store it in the boot.

Wash the plastic parts in warm soapy water and dry all the components thoroughly. The cover can be removed for washing for which you should follow these instructions:

First undo the clips on the sides and remove the elastic from around the front belt guides. Take the fabric off from around the edges of the baby carrier. Next, pass the buckle through the crotch strap slot and pass the shoulder straps through the slots on the backrest. Lastly, remove the upholstery from the area of the tightening button.

Wash by hand and never above 30ºC.

Follow the same procedure but in reverse to put the cover back on.

For your safety and the good conservation of this product, it is important to bring it to one of our ofﬁcial workshops for regular inspections.
