1.3IndicationsForUse

TheintendedfunctionanduseoftheInvacare®Perfecto™V OxygenConcentratoristoprovidesupplementaloxygentopatients withrespiratorydisorders,byseparatingnitrogenfromroomair,by wayofamolecularsieve.Itisnotintendedtosustainorsupportlife.

1.4Description

TheInvacarePerfecto respiratorydisorderswhorequiresupplementaloxygen.Thedevice isnotintendedtosustainorsupportlife.
Theoxygenconcentrationleveloftheoutputgasrangesfrom87% to95.6%.Theoxygenisdeliveredtothepatientthroughtheuse ofanasalcannula.
TheInvacarePerfecto pressureswingadsorptionmethodologytoproducetheoxygen gasoutput.Ambientairentersthedevice,isfilteredandthen compressed.Thiscompressedairisthendirectedtowardoneof twonitrogenadsorbingsievebeds.
Concentratedoxygenexitstheoppositeendoftheactivesievebed andisdirectedintoanoxygenreservoirwhereitisdeliveredtothe patient.
TheInvacarePerfecto patientinahomeenvironmentorinaninstitutionalenvironment. Deviceoperatesatanominal120VAC/60Hertzsupply.
Serviceinformationwillbeavailableuponrequesttoqualified technicalpersonnelonly.

4.1OptionalAccessories

Therearemanydifferenttypesofhumidifiers,oxygentubing,cannulas andmasksthatcanbeusedwiththisdevice.Youshouldcontact yourlocalhomecaresupplierforrecommendationsonwhichof thesedeviceswillbebestforyou.Theyshouldalsogiveyouadvice ontheproperusage,maintenance,andcleaning.
Thesupplyaccessories(nasalcannula,mask,tubing,humidifier,etc.) usedtodeliveroxygentothepatientneedtoincludeameansto reducethepropagationoffireintheaccessoriesforthesafetyofthe patientandothers.Ifacommerciallyavailable,fire-activatedflow stopdeviceisusedintheaccessoriessetup,itshouldbeplacedas closetothepatientaspracticable.

1.Checkforanyobviousdamagetothecartonoritscontents.If damageisevident,notifythecarrier,oryourlocaldealer.
2.Removeallloosepackingfromthecarton.
3.Carefullyremoveallthecomponentsfromthecarton.
Unlesstheoxygenconcentratoristobeused IMMEDIATELY,leaveconcentratorinitspackagingfor storageuntiluseisrequired.

6.1Introduction

Youroxygenconcentratorisintendedforindividualuseindoors. Itisanelectronicallyoperateddevicethatseparatesoxygenfrom roomair.Itprovideshighconcentrationofoxygendirectlytoyou throughanasalcannula.Clinicalstudieshavedocumentedthat oxygenconcentratorsaretherapeuticallyequivalenttoothertypesof oxygendeliverysystems.
Yoursupplierwillshowyouhowtouseyouroxygenconcentrator. He/Sheshouldbecontactedwithanyquestionsorproblems regardingyouroxygenconcentrator.Thisusermanualwilltellyou aboutyourconcentratorandwillserveasareferenceasyouuse yourconcentrator.

–DONOTfillhumidifierbottlewithhotwater.Allow
boiledwatertocooltoroomtemperaturebefore filling.
DONOToverfillhumidifier.Replacethehumidifiercapandsecurelytighten.
Confirmthatthecapisnotcross-threadedonthe humidifierbottle.
–DONOTreversetheoxygeninputandoutput
connections.Waterfromthehumidifierbottlewill travelthroughthecannulabacktothepatientifinput andoutputconnectionsarereversed.
–Whenusingtubingconnectionslongerthan7ft
(2.1m)inlength,positionthehumidifierasclose tothepatientaspossibletoallowformaximum humidificationoutput.

Failuretoproperlyinstallthehumidifierbottleorother accessoriestotheconcentratorwillimpacttheflowof oxygen.
–Tocheckforproperoperationoftheoxygen
concentratorandaccessories,placetheendofthe nasalcannulaunderthesurfaceofahalf-fullcupof water,onlywhentheoxygenisflowing,andlook forbubblesindicatingproperoperation.Wipeany excesswateroffthenasalprongswhenfinishedbefore placingonthepatient.
–Iftherearenobubbles,checkallconnections
(includinghumidifierbottleandotheraccessories,if applicable)andrepeat.Contactyourdealerorservice supplierimmediatelyifbubblesstilldonotappear.

5.AttachthehumidifierbottleadapterDtothehumidifier bottleBbyturningthewingnutEonthehumidifierbottle counterclockwiseuntilitissecurelyfastened.

ontheconcentrator,attachthehumidifierbottle/adapter tubeGtotheoxygenoutletconnectorHonthe concentrator.
Whenusingtubingconnectionslongerthan7ft(2.1m) inlength,positionthehumidifierasclosetothepatient aspossibletoallowformaximumhumidificationoutput.
7.Attachthepatient’snasalcannulasupplytubetothehumidifier bottleoutlet.
8.Afterassembly,ensurethatoxygenisflowingthroughthenasal cannula.

6.3.2TurningtheConcentratorOn
