oftheenduser.However,finalselectionofthetypeof
wheelchairtobeusedbyanindividualrestssolelywiththe
userandhis/herhealthcareprofessionalcapableofmaking
suchaselection.Invacarehighlyrecommendsworkingwith
acertifiedrehabtechnologysupplierand/oramemberof
NRRTSorRESNA.
OperationInformation
WARNING!
Setup
–AqualifiedtechnicianMUSTperformtheinitialset
upofthispersonaltransporter.Also,aqualified
technicianMUSTperformallproceduresintheservice
manual.
–Performanceadjustmentsshouldonlybemadeby
professionalsofthehealthcarefieldorpersons
fullyconversantwiththisprocessandthedriver's
capabilities.Incorrectsettingscouldcauseinjury
tothedriver,bystanders,damagetothepersonal
transporterandtosurroundingproperty.
–Afterthepersonaltransporterhasbeen
set-up/adjusted,checktomakesurethatthe
personaltransporterperformstothespecifications
enteredduringtheset-upprocedure.Ifthepersonal
transporterdoesnotperformtospecifications,turn
thepersonaltransporterOffimmediatelyandreenter
set-upspecifications.Repeatthisprocedureuntilthe
personaltransporterperformstospecifications.

“SafetyandHandling”ofthepersonaltransporterrequiresthe
closeattentionofthepersonaltransporteruseraswellasthe
assistant.Thismanualpointsoutthemostcommonproceduresand
techniquesinvolvedinthesafeoperationandmaintenanceofthe
personaltransporter.Itisimportanttopracticeandmasterthese
safetechniquesuntilyouarecomfortableinmaneuveringaroundthe
frequentlyencounteredarchitecturalbarriers.
Usethisinformationonlyasa“basic”guide.Thetechniquesthatare
discussedonthefollowingpageshavebeenusedsuccessfullybymany.
UsersandassistantsMUSTbeawarethatthehandlingand
