4.7.3 Maintenance using Flow Pin Removal Tool
NOTE: The procedure on this page is for the HT-UF tip only and should only be used
while the system is at room temperature < 25°C (< 77°F) unless noted otherwise.
1. Latch the plate across following the procedure for accessing the drops (Starting on page 4-2).
2. Clean the tip area of all plastic referring to procedures on page 4-22. NOTE: If tip retainer is difficult to remove. Apply heat to nozzle tip, break torque (1/2
turn) and allow nozzle tip to cool prior to removing tip retainer. Cooling prevents molten resin from drooling out of the nozzle while removing.
3. Nozzle heater must be removed to remove tip retainer. Remove front ring and remove retaining clip. Nozzle heater can now be pulled upwards.
4. The tip retainer can be removed using a nozzle tip wrench.
5. To remove flow pin, place tip retainer assembly onto tool as shown above. Turn knob
clockwise until flow pin is free of retainer. Inspect flow pin for excessive wear, scoring, etc. replace where required.
