Quidway® NetEngine 20 Routers Channelized E3 Interface Module

Overview

E3 indicates the tertiary group rate in a TDM system, namely 34.368 Mbps. 1-channel E3 can be
channelized to 16-channel E1s after E23 (process of demultiplexing E3 to E2) and E12 (process of
demultiplexing E2 to E1). Each E1 supports E1-F and cE1 working modes.

The channelized E3 interface module of an NE20 router supports channelized and non-cha nnelized
E3. When an E3 can be channelized, you can set whether to bind the E1 ch annel with the time slot.

Functions of this module are described as follows:

z When working in the E3 mode, it implements the sending, receiving and processing of

1-channel E3 high-speed data stream and provides access of E3 data stream.

z When working in the cE3 mode, it provides users with N (1 to 31) x 64 Kbit/s slow access

service.
At present, the NE20 router provides only one type of channelized E3 interface module, namely

1-port channelized E3 module.
