Basic Requirements
z During storage, transportation, and operation of the device, keep it dry and prevent
it from colliding with other objects.

Environmental Requirements for Using the Device
z Before connecting and disconnecting cables, stop using the device, and then
disconnect it from the power supply. Ensure that your hands are dry during
operation.
z Keep the device far from sources of heat and fire, such as a heater or a candle.
z Keep the device far from electronic appliances that generate strong magnetic or
electric fields, such as a microwave oven or a refrigerator.
z Place the device on a stable surface.

z Your wireless device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed
the limits for exposure to radio waves recommended by international guidelines.
These guidelines are developed by the independent scientific organization
International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) and
include safety margins designed to assure the protection of all persons, regardless
of age and health.
z The guidelines use a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate,
or SAR. The SAR limit for wireless devices is 2.0 watts/kilogram (W/kg) and the
highest SAR value for this device when tested complies with this limit.

The procedure for installing the management program depends on the OS installed on
your PC. The following section takes Windows XP as an example.
2.1 Connecting the USB Stick
z Ensure that the PC is powered on when you connect the USB Stick to the PC.
Otherwise, the USB Stick cannot be used.
z During lightning storms, disconnect the USB Stick from the computer.

3.2 Switching the Management Program Language

4 Viewing Information about the USB Stick
The device information includes the S/N, MAC address, the version information of the
USB Stick, and throughput information.
Start the management program and click Device to view the network information.
Click IPDetail to view the detail information inc ludes the frequ ency, the bandwidth, the
IP address, default gateway, subnet mask, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol ( DHCP)
server address, and Domain Name Server (DNS) address.
Click Check to view the detail information of the USB Stick.

When the USB Stick is connected to the PC for the first time, the system
does not prompt you to install the management program.
z
After the system recognizes the new hardware, you need to wait a few minutes for
the system to prepare the installation of the program.
z
Ensure that the USB Stick is connected to th e PC correc tly and is displayed on
the system tray. Otherwise, unplug the USB Stick and connect it to the PC again.
z
Check whether the disk icon is displayed in the My Computer window.
1. If yes, double-click the icon.
2. If no, remove the USB Stick from the PC and restart the PC. Then connect the
USB Stick to the PC again.
z
Log in to the website designated by the ISP to download the installation program,
and then install the program.
z
Ensure that the auto play function of the OS is enabled.
The management program cannot start automatically after the installation.
z
Check whether the shortcut icon of the management program is displayed on the
desktop or in the notification area. If yes, double-click the icon to start the
management program.

Ensure that the USB Stick is correctly connected to the PC, do as follows:
1. Uninstall the management program.
2. Remove the USB Stick from the PC after uninstallation, and then connect the
USB Stick to the PC again.
3. Install the management program again according to the prompts.

Remove the USB Stick safely and restart the PC. Then connect the USB Stick to
the PC again.

Ensure that the auto-play function of the OS is enabled.
The USB Stick cannot access the Internet.

Ensure that you are in the service area.

Ensure that the USB Stick is connected to the PC correctly and the management
program is correctly installed.

Ensure that you have subscribed the Internet access service. Contact your local ISP
for how to subscribe the service.

When you power on the PC after the USB Stick is connected, the Wi ndo ws
OS hangs.
z
Check the settings of devices such as the USB interface and the ne twork adapter in
the Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) of the PC. It is recommended that you
enable devices such as the USB interface and the network adapter.
z
Remove the USB Stick safely and restart the PC. Then connect the USB Stick to
the PC again.
The indicator is off.
Ensure that the USB Stick is connected to the PC correctly and the management
program is correctly installed.
The network signals cannot be searched out.
z
Ensure that the network signals are not blocked by any obstacles around the USB
Stick.
z
Ensure that the network frequency is set properly.
The system prompts that the software is damaged.
The USB Stick can repair the software automatically. When the software is damaged,
the system prompts you to repair the software. You can repair th e software according
to the on-screen instructions.
Contact your local ISP if the automatic repair of the software fails.
