Connection Information to the Enterprise Backup
Solution

IMPORTANT: Current Enterprise Backup Solution configurations support the
DLT-15 Cartridge Library or the TL895 Tape Library, not both simultaneously.

This document will assist with the removal of a Compaq DLT-15
Cartridge Library prior to installing a TL895 Tape Library to the
Enterprise Backup Solution (EBS). It also provides information on
compatibility with previous releases of the TL895.

WARNING: Before making any changes, make sure power is off to the
DLT-15 Cartridge Library and the power cord is removed. Also turn
power off to the Fibre Channel Tape Controller.

Removing a Compaq DLT-15 Cartridge Library
from the EBS

1. Turn off power and remove power cord to DLT-15 Cartridge

Library. Turn off power on Fibre Channel Tape Controller
(FCTC).

2. Remove DLT-15 Cartridge Library from the EBS:
a. Unplug SCSI cable from FCTC if you intend to use a new

SCSI cable for the new library, or;

b. Unplug SCSI cable from DLT-15 Cartridge Library if you

intend to reuse the existing SCSI cable.

NOTE: A SCSI cable and differential terminator must be used.

3. Refer to Quick Setup Guide (P/N 330558) to connect TL895

Tape Library to the EBS.

4. Reboot primary server to recognize the new device.

5. Consult backup application documentation to configure new

Library to the EBS.
