FlexibleLOM form factor, further reducing power requirements for 4 ports of 1Gb Ethernet. The HP 366FLR is the PCI Express 2.1 x4
based on the latest Intel® Ethernet Controller I350 designed for use with select HP ProLiant Gen8 rack and scalable servers. Its
FlexibleLOM form factor means customers now have choice to meet growing infrastructure needs.
The HP 366FLR adapter supports advanced features such as Large Send offload capability, TCP checksum and segmentation, VLAN
tagging, MSI-X, Jumbo frames, IEEE 1588, and virtualization features such as Intel Virtualization Technology for Connectivity, VMware
NetQueue, Microsoft VMQ and WOL, and power management technologies like Energy Efficient Ethernet.

Ethernet Throughput
The HP 366FLR adapter provides 8 Gbps aggregate full duplex, delivering outstanding network
performance that improves response time and removes bottlenecks. Four ports on a single adapter are
ideal for high density, I/O slot constrained servers, virtualization, security, applications, server
consolidation, and increased network segmentation. The 8Gbps full-duplex aggregate throughput meets
the needs for customers desiring high bandwidth but are not yet ready to move to 10 Gigabit Ethernet.
NOTE:
Port enumeration on the 366FLR is from the bottom up, i.e. the port closest to the gold teeth is port
#1 and the port near the top of the adapter is port #4.
Jumbo Frames
The HP 366FLR FlexibleLOM supports jumbo frames, permits up to a 9.5K byte (KB) transmission unit
(MTU) when running Ethernet, which is over five times the size of standard 1500-byte Ethernet frame.
Jumbo frames can help achieve higher throughput and better CPU utilization and are particularly useful for
database transfer and tape backup operations.
MSI and MSI-X
Up to 25 Message Signaled Interrupt (Extended) vectors per port provides performance benefits for multicore servers by load balancing interrupts between CPUs/cores.
802.1Q VLANs
IEEE 802.1Q virtual local area network (VLAN) protocol allows each physical port of the HP 366FLR to be
separated into multiple virtual NICs for added network segmentation and enhanced security and
performance. VLANs increase security by isolating traffic between users. Limiting the broadcast traffic to
within the same VLAN domain also improves performance.
TCP/IP Stateless
Offloading
For overall improved system response, the HP 366FLR supports TCP, IPv4, UDP checksum offload, Large
Send Offload (LSO), and Segmentation Offload (TSO). These features optimize host efficiency, leaving the
CPU available for other duties.

HP Sea of Sensors 3D
Support for HP Sea of Sensors 3D which is a collection of 32 sensors that automatically track thermal
activity - heat - across the server. When temperatures get too high, sensors can kick on fans and make
other adjustments to reduce energy usage. What makes it better is the upgrade from all six fans kicking on
at one time to a new system where only one kicks on - the one in proximity of the area that started heating
up - thus reducing the amount of energy used for cooling.
HP Active Health System
Supports HP Active Health System monitors and records changes in the server hardware and configuration
enabling customers to have accurate information that will assist in diagnosing problems and delivering
rapid resolution when server failures occur.

Teaming
ProLiant Network Adapter Teaming provides fault tolerance and load balancing across a team of two or
more network adapters. The team of adapters works together as a single virtual adapter. The HP 366FLR
FlexibleLOM provides support for several different types of teaming.
The teaming options offer IT professionals an easy, efficient, and cost-effective way to provide network

Network Management
Auto-negotiation
The HP 366FLR automatically senses the speed of the device to which it is attached. It also automatically
configures for full duplex, depending on the duplex mode of the switch, hub, or router connected to the
adapter.
Management Support
Like all HP server adapters, the HP 366FLR ships with drivers and agents that can be managed from HP
Systems Insight Manager, as well as using any other management application that supports SNMP. HP
Systems Insight Manager can recognize the 366FLR individually or in teams, and can collect and report
SNMP statistics on the adapter events.
Server Integration
The HP 366FLR is a completely integrated, tested, and qualified solution that is optimized for HP servers.
HP validates a wide variety of major operating systems drivers with the network drivers plus provides
central interface to simplify network management.
