• A lw ays turn off this appliance before connecting or disconnecting hose.
• Do not use without dirt cup or filters in place.Empty cup and clean filter frequently
when picking up very fine materials such as pow d e r.
• Use extra care when cleaning on stairs .
• Do not put any object into openings. Do not use with any opening bl o ck e d ; keep
free of dust, l i n t ,h a i r, or anything that may reduce air flow.
• Do not pull or carry by cord , use cord as a handle, close door on cord or pull cord
a round sharp edges or corners . Do not run appliance over cord . Keep cord aw ay
f rom heated surfaces.
• A lw ays disconnect cord from electrical outlet before servicing the cl e a n e r.
• Unplug cleaner when not in use.Turn off all controls before unplugg i n g .
• Do not unplug by pulling on cord . To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord .N ever
handle plug or appliance with wet hands.
• The use of an extension cord is not recommended.
• Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If appliance is not working as it should,has
been dro p p e d ,d a m age d , left outdoors , or dropped into water,take it to a Hoover
Fa c t o ry Service Center or Au t h o r i zed Hoover Warranty Service Dealer (Depot).
• Use vacuum cleaner only for its intended use as described in the instructions.

1. Assembling cleaner

Step 1 Assemble handle

Note: The green or white switch
lock (A) near the ON/OFF switch on
the back of the dirt cup assembly,
helps in assembling your cleaner.
Assembly can be continued if the
switch lock is missing. However,
do not remove the switch lock
until assembly is completed.

Attaching dirt cup
assembly
Remove cardboard protector from
bottom of dirt cup assembly.

With dirt cup toward the front,
slide assembly down onto the
extension on cleaner base.
Rock dirt cup assembly side
to side while pushing down
firmly. Extra pushing effort
may be required. Make sure
assembly is pushed down
completely.
Push bolt into hole (B) on lower
rear of assembly. If bolt will
not go into hole easily, the
assembly is not pushed
down far enough. Tighten bolt
securely with a screwdriver.
Attaching upper handle
Slide upper handle onto assembly,
as shown, until the handle snaps
into position.
Step 2 Attach tool
rack

Slide edge of tool rack down into the
channel on the back of the cleaner.

Make sure dirt cup latch (C) is
down.
Insert the two longer screws into
holes in recessed area above dirt
cup latch (C).
Tighten the screws.

Insert screw into side of tool rack (D).
Tighten screw.

Step 3 Position tools
Bring hose toward front of cleaner
and stretch hose over hose rack.
Push opposite hose end firmly into
rear “cup” in rack.
Note: Hose end must be firmly connected to tool rack when cleaning
floors.
